You did great! I recall when these were all the rave back in the 80’s with the star tip type decorating with characters! It’s so cool! I love that you made it work with regular circular cake pans! Very creative! Looks amazing!

You remember our conversation about if you can actually do a thing, you're qualified to be an expert? Well let me tell you about my attempt to be an awesome mother creating a custom cake for my child. So when Stella was 2 she was obsessed with The Cat in the Hat, so I had grand visions of making her a cake with the face of the Cat. I read articles and watched videos. I bought fondant. It was a whole stressful, eager, exciting time. Well I start the frosting the morning of the party, about 5 hours before we needed to leave the house. I spent hours and it kept looking wonky and stupid and when I finally felt I had it as good as it would get, Kwame comes down to load everything in the car and he looks at the cake and says "Did you make black face on a cat?" I was so mortified (especially as my in-laws would be at the party and they still weren't sure what to make of me). So now everyone talks about my "black face" Cat in the Hat cake and that is why I don't bake! Your cat turned out beautifully and you are just so talented!
