Sonic the Hedgehog - Final Zone 

In the Final Zone, the final level, after the boss is defeated, Eggman attempts to flee in his typical manner, until *Sonic* *hits* *his* *hovercraft,* *destroying* *it,* *and* *have* *it* *fall* *into* *a* *pit* *with* *Eggman* *still* *inside,* *essentially* *leaving* *him* *for* *dead.* Damn.

As a kid,you'd only focus on ONE thing when you reach Final Zone for the first time... RINGS: 0 *with RINGS word flashing red & yellow*

I let sonic just stand there at the beginning just to listen to this music.

This was my entire childhood. So glad to see kids today in love with sonic as we were back in the 90s!! This game literally brought FAMILIES together. I remember my mom, dad, sisters, cousins even my grandmother playing sonic and totally into it 😂😂 Great Memories. Sonic The Hedgehog = LEGEND!! 🌫🌫🌫✨✨✨✨🔵

Probably my favourite end-game boss fight in video games. It's so simple and easy yet the stakes are so high that you almost can't help screwing it up. Once you die 2 - 3 times you got it though. It's weirdly perfect.

I always interpreted the jingles at the beginning of Scrap Brain Zone and Final Zone's songs as being Eggman's corporate jingle.

I thought the final boss was really hard. Until I realized you just had to hang out on the right side. And come out breifly to dodge the laser balls. And then when the pistons come put, you jump from the right side and have a 50/50 chance hitting Robotnik.

It’s so nostalgic to watch this. I remember when my uncle first introduced me to sonic when I was young and he taught me how to complete the last boss level😭😭

why do the final bosses of these games never give you rings

Proud to say at 33 I finally beat this today. I never could make it even close as a kid, just too hard for me. But thanks to Save States on emulation, I didn't have to live with every mistake I made. I feel the utmost respect for those who beat this game back during the Genesis days.

What i loved about the final zone was the fact that you can't afford to make any mistake. It's instent kill as you have no rings, star or sheild protection.

I went to a lot of jump pads. I wondered where they lead. I thought that the level would just continue. As soon as i hit the ceiling and the game transitioned, i thought i lagged it but things got real when i saw: "Final zone"

My parents had me and my sister on hourly rotation to be able to game because we could NOT play together…the concussions we gave each other using the controllers as weapons…probably best for most controllers to be wireless these days 😅

Had a Megadrive II and all of these games as a kid (Sonic I, II, III and S&K combo cart). Used to play the shit out of them. Unfortunately all of that was reduced to melted plastic in a housefire in the late 90s-life sucks, sometimes... :( Luckily for me there are Sonic I and S2&K portages on the Switch eShop now-I bought the S2&K one and had a blast again :) Might try to buy a Megadrive system and the Sonic cartridges again, AFAIK they aren't very expensive even though rare to find now...

I commend you on completing the game with all 6 Chaos Emeralds. Sonic 2 is just as easy to get through and the Seven Chaos Emeralds are easier to retrieve. Be warned, however. Sonic 3 is notoriously difficult to complete. The Emeralds are trickier to get and Marble Garden and Carnival Night Zones are frustratingly confusing. Don't play Sonic 3 if you suffer from motion sickness and get frustrated so easily. Believe me, I've played the game before and I never managed to complete it. It always took me 8 out of 10 minutes to get through Marble Garden's confusing maze. A little heads up.
