If they did we would probably be getting more adventure styled fully 3d games. But we would probably not have the boost anymore, even though I kinda prefer we not have it anyways, that’s just my opinion.
@@bunsmasterbunny not really, if they wanted to go back to it's roots, they NEED to add Momentum to the game. I think it was the goal with Havok, but it clearly failed.
I imagine an alternate universe where this game was amazing and future Sonic games were amazing too. Edit: I meant future ones that were underwhelming like 06 or just average turned out to be good too, I know not every one turned bad after this game.
Well, I don't think that every Sonic game after 06 is terrible. In my case I love Unleashed, Generations, Riders ZG and the All-stars racing games, but yeah I wanted too that 06 never failed, even if I never played it, and I really want to play it.
@@DiegoV2004OHC Not a lot were terrible actually, terrible is not the same thing as mediocre so the only terrible Sonic games after 06 were Secret Rings, Free Riders, LostWorld3DS, and Rise Of Lyric.
One cool thing I noticed about the music: starting at 1:01 you can hear the same vocal samples that are used in Wave Ocean - The Water's Edge - (that "ah, ah, ah-ah, ah here we go again"), but slowed down a bit. Or maybe Wave Ocean is the one that's sped up. Either way, I thought that was neat and wanted to share.
This is probably the only time we can actually see the gold spreading across Sonic’s body as he goes Super. It was always practically instantaneous in every other instance. The way it goes here really gives it that cinematic oomph. Beautiful. Oh, and uh, “If only things had gone differently, yada yada” I guess
A couple of things I noticed: 1. At the beginning of the video, you can hear part of Snake Eater 2. Based on the drum and bass style and the music samples I heard, Tomoya Ohtani composed bespoke music for this trailer. 3. When Sonic falls, a funny sound effect plays.
Imagine a open world Sonic game with the locations in this trailer being transversable it would be a amazing concept, if only Sonic Team decided on one type of playstyle. Sonic Team should of saved the Sonic World Adventure/Unleashed plot and ideas for something grand where Sonic actually adventures through different areas and lands through his speed, meeting other characters and mission points along the way.
What about Frontiers? Titans and Soldiers, and some of Guardians have great and badass Evangelion-like designs! You feel they're mysterious and redoubtable robots and that they don't belong to Eggman!
what scares me is that it reminds me of what is happening nowadays with Sonic frontiers A teaser of Sonic running through a realistic forest, running away from something, going into something resembling ruins, and promising to be the best Sonic game
Came back here again after Sonic Frontiers finally got a gameplay reveal. In terms of potential for the series this is always the vision I come back to even if it never came to be. That said, the new trailer definitely showcases some of that potential coming back and I will admit first hand that while I'm not too hyped over it, I've got a good feeling about it too. Here's hoping IGN First gives us an even better look at the game over the course 1st June.
@@ghhn4505 It's honestly my top ranking 3D game in the series now. Previously it was a toss up between Heroes, Unleashed and Adventure 1 but after all the updates I can't imagine myself enjoying any of those games nearly as much save for nostalgia and muscle memory carrying me. I think the game's initial marketing didn't work in its favor but the later trailers, leaks and gameplay showcases got me interested. My only real issues with the game as of now are visual ones like animation, environment assets and overall art style as well as resource balance and very small control issues but it's still to date the most fun I've had when it comes to 3D Sonic.
LikeAMoose Productions oh lol I was pretty sure it was but I was too lazy to search. Gonna do that. If everything goes according to plan, my version should be available in 2 weeks or something.
Good thing ChaosX is doing God’s work and making this game even more awesome(I’ve always been a fan of the original Sonic ‘06 anyways so to hear it’s been made even better is exciting)
Is there a way to remove the watermark from this video? This is the highest quality trailer I've seen on RU-vid, and I wouldn't mind upscaling this video to 4K resolution.
This is actually really telling. No gameplay at all, and possibly had a separate team to put this little show together. If I had seen this at the time knowing then what I know now, I probably would’ve been a bit worried.
i cant believe it was so rushed that they had to use his running animation from this proof of concept trailer i never really thought about that but ig it makes sense since voice actors recorded lines before the script was finished
So if you saw the footage that was actually available in 2005. It looked nothing like this. This is way too crisp, clear, and smooth. The footage we actually got back then was blurry and. choppy as hell compared to this. Honestly, it left enough to the imagination that it looked like a CGI movie recorded with a camcorder. The trailer swore it was "in gameplay footage"... bullshit, I said. Sure enough, the game came out, looking nothing like this. Now that I'm seeing this crystal clear version 15+ years later... I CAN now see, that this video at least appears to be using the in game assets for this cut scene. That being said, yeah, it's completely misleading. The actual game is NOTHING like this. This video gave me hope that this game was gonna kick ass. Boy. Boy was I wrong.
The difference between this and Frontiers is that while 06’s trailer was compromised of nothing but CGI, Frontiers had a mix of CGI and gameplay throughout pretty much all the trailers.
