Sonic Generations was already my favorite boost game, and Shadow Generations looks like it could even rival base generations. Doom Powers look really interesting and from the footage we got, they flow into gameplay very well.
I don't think that Shadow is fighting Neo Metal in the Chemical Plant, I think that it's Final Fortress after falling into the ocean (like the Egg Carrier), this could also be a nod to the concept art of Final Fortress being an underwater base
This game is probably going to sell well because there hasn't been a single trailer that people hate. There isn't a single thing that people can complain about. every video on RU-vid only talks positively about this game. They really learned from the Sonic frontiers trailers

A few things to say First, consider in the base Generations you had many side missions and levels that granted you music notes, and since they were a lot, Generations had the idea to give different time of day to spice up the visuals a little. The levels were also very gimmicky in nature, focusing on one part of level design. Explaining the many different sky colors we see Radical Highway in, and the tornadoes could just be one of those gimmicks. Second, in base Generations it was required for characters to be attached to a certain level, Cream was attached to Speed Highway, Tails to Green Hill, Amy to Chemical Plant, Vector to Rooftop Run, Charmy to Planet Wisp (if you don't consider the DS Color I guess??) anyways just to say it's all mixed up, so Shadow being in Chaos Island is not odd. Thirds, still on the topic of Chaos Island, althought it seems odd to have "future locations' from future games, but when you think about it, it's not because they are eplored in future games that they don't exist in the world, the Starfall Island still exist, even if the Sonic Team didn't explore it, and so are subject to be absorbed by the Time Eater. I guess one thing that would contradict that theory is if Sunset City is destroyed, which would be a proof of events, but we see only the sewers in the trailer, so no proof of exterior debris. (Actually, while writing all that I just thought of something, scrap everything I just said, there is a Forces Death Egg Robot in Chaos Island, so that proves it comes from the future, I will not erase what I just said because I still think it's interesting, but yeah, they comes from the future I guess) Fourth point, about other characters in general, in the trailer we can see Omega in the background, in Generation there some missions where the characters you just saved would either challenge of help you through a level, so it's inetresting to think what they could do with Omaga. Will Shadow save anyone else? Rouge was already saved by Sonic, I think it's possible maybe he saves Silver in the Kingdom Valley section? Unless they make a point the 3 Hedgehogs are the only one not affected by the Time Eater (although they could make an exception for Silver.. because he is Silver) Also is the Metal Overlord we see the same Metal Classic Sonic thought in the base game? Or is it a different Modern Metal that is unrelated, giving Metal the same treatment Sonc Tails and Eggman has, having 2 versions of themselves. Also if they bring back fishing because it is a miniature Frontiers, I think it will be hilarious for Shadow to save Big the Cat from white space which would grant access to fishing. Also, if Shadow has access to the Future, will Sage be a save-able character? If my memory is correct, she was compared to Maria by Eggman, and is pretty much is Eggman's equivalent to Gerald's Maria, so interactions between Shadow and Sage would be interesting. Also obviously, Infinte, I don't have anything to say, just Infinite. Also last thing about other characters, considering Generations had rival characters for each chunk of levels, as well as Sonic having fought Shadow in the Ark in one of those fights, and if the story happens in parallel to Sonic, does that confirm that we will get the same Rival Fight with Sonic? This time in Shadow's perspective of course, fighting Sonic would be cool regardless but it also makes a perfect Adventure 2 Parallel. Speaking or rival characters, is the Metal Overlord really a Boss Fight? Or is he a Rival Fight of the Modern Metal Sonic, will Silver also get a Rival Fight with Shadow? And final point, considering Black Doom had a stone specifically made for him in the White Space, does that confirm the Time Eater and Black Doom are linked? Possibly being a creation of Black Doom before Shadow like I saw someone saying, also I am curious of the potential lore they will add to the Ancients and if they had any relations to the Black Arms, which I believe is one of the reasons why they brought Frontiers back so early. And of course I think they will be something to figure out with Solaris and Mephiles, I don't see how it's possible to live in a Timeline where the Time Eater and Mephiles are completely unrelated, if my memory is correct, in 06 they were secret lore in the walls of Dusty Desert or something were the flame of Solaris was being given to Soleana or something, and we know Black Doom has visited Earth a long time ago and had a temple in Glyphic Canyon. But yeah, this is all I have to say.
One thing I noticed is that the doom egg altar things are eerily similar to the Cyber Cages from Sonic Frontiers, specifically the way they break open and corrupt the main characters and grant them new abilities
There’s probably gonna actually be a level for black night since shadows technically in that game “ sir Lancelot” Also, this might be a reach but I think there’s a possibility since this game is going beyond generations, there could be a mania level very unlikely but that would be really cool

I know everyone glorifies the daytime levels in Unleashed, but Sonic X Shadow Generations looks like the best Sonic game through and through. I think it is important to look at what the entire experience has, and in Unleashed there are a ton of flaws that Sonic x S Gens surpasses. There is no medal collecting, no Warehog taking up 2/3 of the experience, no unnecessary gimmicks like Wisps like in Forces and Lost World, no cringe dialogue like in original Generarions, and better level design than anything in the last decade. (From what we have seen so far anyway)
4:15 im wondering what the music for chaos island is gonna be like since i doubt theyll go with the ambient tone of the open zone for a boost stage. if they give us some remix variation of find your flame somewhere in this stages music... oml

I`m glad they took from forces and frontiers I saw a lot of people saying that could not happen! but I always disagree Generations is a time travel plot not one of memories time is non liner they can take from past present or future I did not matter. Im hoping for infinite boss fight with the defeated infinite meeting generations shadow who dose not care or knows who he is kinda like Scarlet Witch vs Thanos! I’ve never seen anyone even consider this, but is it possible that we could be getting a lost world level as well? They got forces and frontiers in there, so it isn’t too much of a stretch.
It's possible that some of the stages we see are Challenge stages, since we know for a fact those are back. The Wing focused versions of Radical Highway and Ivan Ooze-ified Chaos Island are both possibly power-up challenges rather than actual cuts from the proper levels, but we'll have to wait and see. I'm extremely excited no matter what, I'm already beyond satisfied with the amount of content in the game
Im so excited for this not only because sega might be able to do a relresase of a past video game right bhut also show us that they can do more remakes/remasters/ports right in the future. Also this game i belive could be a turning point because kishimoto or sega i belove one of the 2 said that if sonic games can be the same quality as the mario games in the future that they may do a actaul crossover with them thats not the olympic games and i feel like sonic x shadow generations is getting us closer to that point.
I actually think it could. At first I was sceptical, but honestly after the last trailer, it could be a worthy product. I don’t think it could possibly be any more mediocre than Forces, as that was the bottom of the barrel of boost gameplay. Plus the quality looks insanely high! I agree that Unleashed was better than Generations because of the challenge its levels offered, and this game looks like it could be taking that same design philosophy and implementing it in new ways by combining it creatively with those Shadow powerups! It can only get better from here!

Y'know, after seeing so many people get insanely hyped up with this game, I really have to say that DO NOT. The last time that happened, it permanently fucking traumatized the Sonic fandom as a whole. Yeah, the game looks very good and it actually feels that Sonic Team hired a professional cinematographer to do the cutscenes, but let's not kid ourselves here, just because it looks good doesn't mean it's all-round good. This game could definitely be just a mediocre game and the fandom would break once again due to the expectations not being reached. Putting the expectations so goddamn high is not really healthy with anything including Sonic. I think the game will be good? Yes, but I doubt that it would be to highest peak this franchise has ever experienced or some shit like that. That's not to offend Shaulov10 for putting this title, but once I saw this title, I just had to write this. Also, thanks for reading all of this ranting I just did.
See I made a whole video comparing the first level of shadow gens vs lost valley and mortar canyon from forces. And from what I have seen I think I’m confident in saying this game will be really good. The difference between forces and this game is that they showed just enough to get us hyped, but kept enough hidden so we couldn’t tell what the actual game was. Also they straight up used false advertising with chaos in the trailers. Here, there actually showing full gameplay, hell we have a full level and not only does it look fun but it also seems well designed. And each trailer they show just looks better and better. I think telling people not to be excited just cause it can be bad is not right, you can be sceptical but you shouldn’t tell everyone else not to be excited
My point is not that you should not be excited, since I am. But you should, at the very least, be a little skeptical considering the shit the brand has been giving us all these years. If I didn't manage to get this feeling with my rant, then I'm sorry. Generations, Colors and Mania were exceptions of just overall great games, they were never the norm.
I bet if this sells well like really well, SEGA might put into more big budget projects so they can put in more to make it that Sonic adventure/Sonic unleashed type of budget work

Who else is Shadow gonna fight? Sonic at Space Colony Ark, Super Shadow vs Devil Doom, Mephlies The Dark and Solaris! The possibilities is endless thank you so much Sega for giving Shadow the light once again!!

None of you can see, but I’m laughing like a villain seeing how excited you people are. SEGA has always been good at hiding imperfections. Doesn’t anyone remember Sonic 06 before it actually released? Overhype before the fall. This is what usually always happens to Sonic games. Not just from Sega I played Unleashed before Generations, and guess what? Sonic Unleashed will always get mixed reviews and I loved every aspect of it, EVERYTHING. As for Sonic Generations, which was considered the best boost game ever even before this remaster releases, I was extremely disappointed. Same for Frontiers, Sega fumbled with some early teasers and then proceeded with a hype train. I even preordered Frontiers! Disappointed once more, at least Frontiers can be improved in a sequel. So yeah you people get disappointed while I still got all of the Unleashed DLC to play.😂
I haven’t seen anyone mention this, but in the Radical Highway day area, Shadow is using Doom Spear AND Doom Wing. Does this mean they’ll all be available all the time, unlike Sonic Gens where you’re limited on abilities??? Edit: the upside down part
Don't get me wrong, it's good- Just not as good as Unleashed, not even close in my opinion 😂 The main thing holding it back for me is that they're still using the new physics engine they made alongside HE2, and sure, it's been heavily improved since Forces but it still pales in comparison to the physics engine in Unleashed and Generations (Go watch any video where people compare Unleashed or Generations stages to their Cyberspace versions, and you'll see what I mean)

I think we can all agree the physics in Unleashed and Generations was miles better, it was way faster, and a lot more fluid Don't get me wrong, I love the new Doom powers and how they evolve the Boost gameplay, I never said "Oh, every Boost game has to be the same" I said the new physics engine specifically is a huge downgrade from the original, and in my opinion makes Unleashed and Generations the far more enjoyable games
Sonic unleashed is still the better game because of all the tiny nuisances in the physics. And it’s still built of frontiers which was built off forces which was built of lost world if the game is built of lost world it is going to have physics that aren’t as complex like in unleashed. But the pacing for unleashed on a first play through is horrible as you don’t know how to play the werehog and the level ups and medal collecting is bad. But on repeat playthroughs I will only prefer shadow generations if you include regular generations as I prefer unleashed to generations because there is more things and the levels are better in unleashed but if you combine sonic and shadow generations as on game I think I will probably prefer generations to unleashed. Although we don’t know what the pacing is going to be like. Hopefully it’s just banger level after banger level but you never know they might make doom powers required for progression but make it so you have to play a stage a certain number of times and make you repeat stuff. I’m not saying they will but they normally have a catch in most sonic games. I’m just waiting for it to show up, I might have to play the game to find it but there is usually something holding it back. Only until I’ve played the game will I be able to say for sure that sonic is in good hands

I don't see it beating Sonic unleashed. Also at least for me i am not a fan of teh doom powers although i imagine shadow will be more combat focused in level design. I don't see there being enough mechanical deph and nuance to keep me hooked like unleashed personally. I am pretty skeptical of the new formula already but thats basing it off a recurring pattern that has yet to change in this series. Level design wise still need to see something other than the ark to make an opinion cause i am not sold at all on it yet. I just want more synergy, flow, nuance and level design like eggmanland and gens seaside hill. Is that too much to ask for. A moveset and formula that focuses on flow and has every move in the kit have its use that helps keep the flow going without slowing the player down if the player is good? Only 1 or 2 ways to halt all speed and flow like stomp and maybe some ground action other than slide and i would love if homing attack got an overhaul or was removed/replaced at this point too. I just think its being used as a crutch and a horrible crutch at that at this point. With how automated homing attack already is not a fan that rails can also be homing attacked.
I think this is what people don’t understand. Maybe SXSG is trying to evolve the boost formula to try and mix it with SA2 and the boost. You can’t just have the same style for over a decade it’s gonna get stale. Also half of unleashed is bad
@@shaulov10 To each their own. I love werehog and boost stuff. Also SA2 sucks imo. I only like 2-3 speed stages at most and dislike everything else and most would agree 2/3rds of SA2 sucks that being mech and treasure hunting which is more than the 1/2 of unleashed. My issue with the doompowers is they don't feel like they will add much to the game and stages and the one i like the least is the wings. It just looks like a powerup to skip over level design by just boosting and being in the air although its definitely on a timer right like chaos control is? I don't agree you can't have the same style for over a decade if you tweak and improve the style which they don't imo and usually as the formulas progress they remove some of the nuance and deph and tend to oversimplify stuff just to make it easier to pick up and play. Examples being like level design shift from SA1-SA2. Trick system from rush removed in unleashed. Colors removing drift and QTE pads. Gens brought back drift but simplified it and made it less fun to use and learn. Shadow gens taking inspiration from SA2 level design doesn't seem exactly promising to me but its too early for me to say this about level design but if the other levels are like the ark then its not touching unleashed. The first example of convenience and simplification in the series i would say is the spindash. Then homing attack which has not changed since its inception which should be considered criminal at this point.

As a whole of both combined: yes Each individually: probably not Reason being sonic will have the great level design which shadow has the story and edginess. I not saying shadow gens wont have good level design but compared to unleashed probably not
Not trying to be nit picking but, why are they putting chaos island in sonic x shadow generations cuz if sonic x shadow generations is following the sonic generations story then how is chaos island apart of it shadow doesn't even go to chaos island heck he isn't even frontiers sonic metions him tho but, i mean it looks cool and fun but i don't know how sega is going to explain this.
