This is really good for acoustic. Sort of some kind of smash hit for guitarplaying in this simple but excellent tuning. A perfect place to start covering SY. Tuning: D#D#A#D#GG
Hey man, don't know if you still check this channel, but these covers really got me into guitar as a teenager. To this day, I have no idea how you were able to take their elaborate setups and turn them into workable solo performances.
Here's the tuning: Ed2 Ad6 Dd4 Gd4 Bd4 Ed9 The "d's" behind means tht you'll have to tune the string 'down'. So, you actually only have to tune everything down and therefore no worries of broken strings :)
@@laneislame4886 there was a comment here from someone else that has been removed saying that this cover was just "ok"...my comment was in response to someone's criticism. I love this song. This is the best cover ever.
Incinerate is a song that moves me. I love the lyrics to this song and I also appreciate the melody. Very nice to hear this cover for you, because in my opinion, the cover is so touching as the original version
Thank you decade - that is, as always, much appreciated! :) I like the song too - it got a very nice feeling and is a really natural SY opener on a album.
Wauw, those are warm and respected words my friend - thank you. Appreciated a lot! I have watched many different versions though I'm not sure mine is 'the' best. But as you play it you really get caught by the action because it's so nice to do on acoustic. Thanks for those words :)
there are lots of covers for this song on youtube. this one is the best hands down. and it's not just guitar-playing skills, there's probably more passion in this cover than all other videos combined!
+Doug Campbell Thanks a lot my friend - appreciated! It's not that hard really - just some basic understanding on how to operate (and improvise) on homebrew-tunings :)
+Matt Thwaites Thanks a lot Matt - appreciate the words!I guess I'm just trying to make it sound as right as possible on acoustic - mostly because I really haven't heard the complete arsenal of SY songs done on that - so, I guess someone had to do it :)Thanks!
Thanks a lot Gabriella - appreciate the words :) I guess I do love them, yes. But I love so many. Ariel Pink, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Cocteau Twins and so on but there's a challenge in trying to perfect the universe of SY on acoustic that I had to try out first. I guess I'll try out Cocteau Twins next :) Thanks again!
Do it! You have great taste in music. And you should definitely start writing your own music if you haven't already. To share with others. I think you've got the talent for it. Can't wait to hear you cover those other guys.
Gabriella Marie I will! Just need to find the time :/ I have actually had several bands over time but for like the last 5-7 years I mostly just have done my own material. I had a period in which I did a lot of instrumental drone-noise thing on a homebuild instrument and I do have a lot of it on video. If you look at my profile then I think you can listen to some of it. Also I did/do a constellation with a friend which you can find if you search for "Muscle Angel" on Soundcloud. Again, instrumentals with synths, guitars, drones and all that :) But I will carry on with my covering project! Thanks!
Thanks a lot my friend, appreciate it! :) I didn't really use tabs but the one I found was useful in some places. But it's not that hard a song to learn by ear I think. And you can find the tuning in the info box :) (I'm using this one: D#D#A#D#GG) Good luck!
Thank you, sir. I guess it can be played in standard yes but haven't tried yet. But I'm not sure how 'accurate' or 'true' or what we should call it it would be though but I'm sure it would be alright. It a mission for you my friend :)
Hey buddy, thanks a lot! Appreciate the words. I guess I have trained my ear over time - it's something everyone can do, don't panic :) I'll help you if you need it :)
