Today we take a look at a few drivers I have laying around. We speculate a little about the theory of operation, demonstrate how a BA works and a little more. if you're a nerd, come sit down and lets talk shop! :-D
@@hi-friaudioman In the future after I moved to the new new house I'm probably make a some DIY IEM also, or maybe programmable DAC for tuning referencing or something. These things are really fascinating for nerd like us lol. Thankyou so much, I'm glad to found you on Facebook, many useful informationa! 😊
Thanks for the tour of wierd drivers. The estat and balanced armature were very intresting. I think those metal plates in the estat are called stators. High voltage ac is run through them wich attracts and repels the statically charged membrain. Very cool little device.
At 26m33s you can see the wire (it's very thin) from the solder bump sticking upwards. It is (before opening the cover) connected to the terminal on the pcb (seen on 25m28s). The cases are connected electrically through the spout, as this is welded on both sides.
Pretty incredible insight. Thanks man. BTW, how to explain the price differences (out the very exotic electrostatic stuff) going from 10 to several thousands in the IEM market ? Is it technically justified, or is it rather hype based, like the price of some luxury items, like hand bags for ladies ?
