iv'e used one of these they are good but expensive and you have to get the special shims for it to adjust end float

+SICKDUDE38 We find clutch clearance is easily adjusted with the available selection of different thickness steels and frictions. Overall transmission end play should not be affected by the Smart-Tech housing. If you find otherwise, please contact Sonnax Tech Support so we can follow up with any potential problems. I thought about buying one of these, but due to them shutting down from teh corona virus scare, they were not available right now (and I need one now). So I bought the 4L79 super housing with the TH350 clutches. I don't think I made a bad choice.

You may have..... I have broken TWO 4l79 drums for n the past month...... CPT is my builder and my car is sorted well. Hope you don’t make high hp. You’ll end up needing sonnax

So I watch a lot videos and all professional builders are different. So what do recommended in your input housing for the 3 4 clutch? I've seen people use Z pac fractions and add a lot more in your housing or I ve just seen people using a high performance clutch pack

Hi Chris, technically it is possible, but it requires more than one clutch kit to get enough to fill our larger capacity housing. Our experience has shown the best overall combinations are: • Eight .067" frictions with seven .095" steels • Nine .062" frictions with eight .077" steels Hope that helps. Thanks for reaching out!

Ive been building 4l60e input drums with a 7 friction set up, I use raybestos GPZ100 .080 frictions and .076 steels along with a .225 apply plate and .193 backing plate(ill throw in a .095 steel in the middle to get between .030 to .035 clearance) This set up works very well and holds good power, OF COURSE IM NOT SATISFIED LOL. Using this same recipe how many frictions will I be able to fit in the sonnex smart drum?

4th gear slippage and 3-4 clutch failure are common problems in high mileage transmissions, but typically due to other areas within the transmission. The 77733-06K is particularly suited to heavy-duty applications or when power levels are increased beyond what the vehicle originally came with. Hope that helps. Thank you!

Can you replace a 4L60E with 4L80E transmission? And will it be a straight even swap fit?

No different length and connectors, and will need to tell pcm it's an 80 not a 60
