Thanks for the video. I’m not sure I still understand from the beginning what the height audio does. My arc is in a room with 13’ ceilings. I have two Eros 300s as the surround. Given the high ceilings - should the height audio be more than the default 0?
The height audio is what controls the upward firing drivers within your Arc (Dolby Atmos). The drivers are what provide the “Atmos” or overhead sound effects. Based on your ceiling height - Yes, it should be more than 0. It’s going to take some experimenting but I would likely start with +4 and go from there. Best way to test is to find a movie that provides Dolby Atmos and a scene that takes the most advantage of the feature (like the ones mentioned in our video). Hope that helps!
I have my Sonos Arc in my bedroom. I have a ceiling fan and my bed has a canopy Im not sure if those interfere with the up firing sound but I rarely hear anything above my head. I’m going to try this out today. Thanks for the heads up.
Another good scene to test the Height Level for the Arc is in Batman V. Superman Ultimate Edition on HBO Max. At around the 1:19:20 mark where Batman ask Superman "if he bleeds". When Superman takes off, it sounds like he's flying through my dam ceiling.
1. The first few minutes of of F1:Drive to Survive S3 E1 on Netflix is good. You get a flight flying overhead and car movement within a minute that has height to it. 2. Did Sonos mention about satellite speakers with upward facing drivers?
I'm sure it does to a certain extent. It's probably more noticeable if the fan is running. If you can tune with Trueplay, that's going to be your best bet, then configure the height volume accordingly.
@@tdubpinoy13 ps5 does not output Dolby atmos. It only outputs it through earc and only with discs. Apple TV requires hd fury or earc to get Dolby atmos. And roku requires your tv support lossey audio. Roku is the best streaming device for budgets and in general. I think I recommend getting Sonos arc from Costco so you can return it if it doesn’t work well with your tv. Also Sonos also recommends you own an Apple product compatible with trueplay tuning.
It controls the volume for the upward firing drivers, which are only triggered when watching Dolby Atmos content. Thought it was clear but I guess not enough. Hope that helps to explain.
Terrible. You didn’t actually tell me what Height Audio is. You told me that you have a high ceiling, but I don’t know what that means. I suspect that is because you also don’t know… WASTE OF MY TIME!
