Nobody is going to buy this camera for sitting in the sun hours on end. Nobody is going to buy this camera just for video. Nobody is going to buy this camera just for photography. Nobody is going to buy this camera just for audio. Nobody is going to buy this camera just for the AI focus. Nobody is going to buy this camera just for the menu system. Nobody is going to buy this camera for the flip out screen and viewfinder. Nobody is going to buy this camera because of the lens selection. This camera is still gonna outsell every camera that has ever been made though. This camera does 90% of what every top of the line camera does. Sofware, a gimbal, and a battery operated fan can fill in the 10% of what it doesn't do.
Just bought it and waiting for it to deliver today. I think its the best camera for my use and all the noise about overheating is a niche issue. Cant wait to see how it fares in real world usage.
I agree with your viewpoint. While I don't use a Sony camera, I believe that most cameras won't experience overheating during casual use. RU-vidrs and casual enthusiasts need not overly concern themselves with overheating, especially for shorter recording sessions. Filmmakers and those requiring prolonged outdoor takes would naturally gravitate towards higher-end cameras. For instance, I used my Canon R6 Mark II in extreme conditions of 107 degrees Fahrenheit and 40% humidity in Dallas, Texas. It performed admirably with a 20-minute, 30fps recording outdoors. Only when I switched to 60 fps did I encounter an overheat warning, but that was the extent of it.
I just got the A6700 and I'm in my backyard trying it out. I've been out for about 45 mins trying the bird eye focus and the camera is very hot. I have the A6000 and never noticed it getting hot on any of my hikes in direct sun. Just came on RU-vid looking for info. Hope it's not going to be an issue. 😢
@@AlphaCentauri24 Most of the overheating issues seems to be at 60fps and using HDMI out recording.... Either way time will tell. I am not justifying it if it overheats, I am just saying is it as bad as some say for MOST PEOPLE! Time will tell with real life reviews.. Thanks for the input! Mine just arrived a few hours ago. Every camera has its place, if you make the a6700 your work horse you are asking for trouble. Its going to be great for as a backup/complimentary camera or even a very good travel camera that does everything better than good. I live in South FL and I record a lot outside. I primary use a FX3 and even with the fan I try not to leave it on when not in use just to allow it to cool down. better safe than sorry.
The FX30 may overheat in the sun going that long. On top of that they will leave the screen in daylight mode and use the battery running 60+fps. I was worried for a bit because I just pulled the trigger on the A6700, but Jason Vong's test showed over 2 hours of p24 H.265 recording in studio, and if you get the Ulanzi/UURig/Tilta fan for the A6700 I trust that will not overheat. You can use the dummy battery, turn down the screen brightness, and use a metal camera cage with 15mm rails on it and that probably won't overheat in a studio.
i agree with that person. a6700 has overheating problems and its overpriced. shouldve been at max $1200. btw nice video, what camera are you using? the stabilization is nice, i hope its inbuilt and not external.

A6700 does got issues.. mine at night using sigma f1.4 16mm glitches camera out and crashes it. Also at faster shutter speed high iso from 1600 up to 6400 bright white pixel noise on all black picture or lens covered.. dirty noisy sensor on brand new camera??? Or dead pixels? Ruins dark shots using jpeg extra fine mode 4:2:0 8 bit. Auto focus glitches out…. Needs firmware update….
You probably don’t live in a country where the weather gets hot , it’s good for inside studio work or some outside work but not for wedding in a hot environment ( without the sun) or for recording a indie music video out in the open
