PLEASE NOTE: As some have pointed out, the M in the SONY's Record Settings Menu stands for megabits and not megabytes as stated in the video, My error ! And as there are 8 megabits in 1 Byte, it means that all V90 (UHS-II) cards should be able to cover even the highest record setting of the SONY A6700. Sometimes we make mistakes. But thank you all for watching the video! 97% of people who watched this video are not subscribed to the channel, so RU-vid are reluctant to show more of my videos. So if you enjoyed this video please consider subscribing. Its shows me that you want more videos and pushes me to make them. Thank you all!

Dont get confused with the Bytes and Bits! Any V90 UHS-II can easily cover the 600 MBits required for the highest capture mode. The number next to the codec is not equivalent to the needed write speed

Nice review! In the UK, Africa, Australia, most of Asia, and Russia, the frequency of AC running through electrical mains is 50Hz (PAL). However, in North America and a few other countries (Japan uses both), the AC frequency is 60Hz (NTSC). So, if you use NTSC in Europe, you may experience a pretty noticeable flicker from any random light.

Great starting piece for many, but correction for the video modes. The M stands for “megabits” per second, not “megabytes”. Technically, the 200MB/S card you showed is theoretically capable of doing the 600mbps the highest quality asks for, but Sony restrict it to UHS-II to ensure a consistent 75MB/s that 600mbps requires. Conflating the two may mean people think that you’ll consume a 64GB card in 32 seconds, which is definitely not the case.
@DanCarreras
@DanCarreras Год назад
Correction for myself haha: 64GB card in 128 seconds, not 32

Yes, you are very right! Thank you for explaining everything. I watched this video few hours after ordering A6700 and was frightened that I have to buy SD card for 250$ to record satisfing videos. I knew that this dude was not right :D

Hoping this gets corrected in the video. Definitely had a "huh?" moment when he said that, those are not megabytes.
@DanCarreras
@DanCarreras Год назад
So far he’s releasing new stuff and not correcting, so me thinks he won’t. Shame, because his presentation of the interface is fine, but saying that with the megabytes is very dodgy for beginners starting out - it’s a costly mistake that could result in beginners paying hundreds more than needed for nothing.
@aCiD0L2
@aCiD0L2 Год назад
@@DanCarreras Agreed. If that does happen tho, then some beginners might be future proofing themselves at least lol. Bigger and faster card, for another camera down the line. Hopefully he does correct this one though. But I won't hold my breath to it.

That's Megabits not MegaBytes in the settings. So a v60 SDXC card can easily record 4k 10 bit 4.2.2 100fps.

You have change it to display shutter angle. I cant think off the top of my head how to change it back as I am not at my camera at the moment. I would say do a factory reset if you cannot find the setting.

Thanks so much for this tutorial, it's perfectly explained. I've just purchased this camera today and this was perfect to get me started. One question, is there much of a difference in quality between XAVC HS 4K and XAVC X-I 4K. I'm hoping my imac will be able to handle 10 bit video files. I might also have to upgrade to the paid version of Davinci Resolve. Love your content as always.
@TheCameraManReviews
@TheCameraManReviews Год назад
Hi Bill how is it going! To my eye there is very little difference. I am sure there is some difference, but to me HS4k and S4k is more than enough. Make sure you check out the S-Cinetone Picture Profile, it is awesome! (PP11)

@@TheCameraManReviews Thanks, I'm doing good thank you, hope all is well with you. I'm getting worried as I've just seen the file size of a 10 bit video compared to 8 bit on my old A6600, it's huge at 1.54 gig for a 58 min clip. It's also having trouble writing to my sd card which is only 190 mps write speed. I hope I havent made a big mistake. How do your 10 bit vids compare to your old 8 bit vids? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. 😟

Hi from Spain, i have seen on the App that you can actualize the cámara throw the App. It is possible or must be done with a sd card? Thks

So a "300 mb/s write speed of UHS II" is enough to handle 500 mb/s the highest 4k mode you showed? If not why would they put that mode if the sd cards wouldn't be able to handle it.

I’m running into the issue where I can’t open video files from the sd card on my computer (tried both a Mac and a pc). The files show up in mp4 format in the M4ROOT>CLIP folder but just shows a black screen when I try to play the file. Does anyone know if this has to do with the video settings or is there an app I should download to open these videos?
@moritzpeterfoerster
@moritzpeterfoerster 8 месяцев назад
As others have pointed out, please get your information straight. If you record a 12 minute video just about the photo and video settings of this camera, it is insane that you don’t know the difference about Megabit and Megabyte. Megabits are only 1/8 of Megabytes. So for example the 200M (MegaBIT) setting means that the camera writes only 25 MegaBYTES to the card. Based off that wrong information all your statements and recommendations about the cards are wrong as well. Even though it is very honorable that you made a video about this, I would honestly recommend taking it down as it might lead people to buy super overpriced cards or shoot in HD to avoid the „crazy high data rates“.
