Got 77 inch sony a80j. Love it so much

I’ll never understand mounting TV close to the ceiling.

I own this television in a 77inch model. Purchased on July 2021. The price drop on these for 2022 make it a must buy imo.

Great review! I’m considering the Sony 77”A80L for my basement which will be completely light controlled with very minimal sunlight. Do you think the A80L will provide enough brightness for watching sports and hdr movies? Thx!

This TV is a banger. I bought my 77” A80CJ from Costco as well. 3 year warranty. It there’s a manufacturer defect Costco will replace the tv with the current model. Costco’s concierge is worth it’s weight in gold

This is the first time I’ve come across your channel. This was a phenomenal review and the nacho libre reference was hilarious. I just picked up the 65” version of this TV at Costco for $800 which I think was a bargain I literally couldn’t pass up. I looked everywhere as to what the difference was between the A80J model and this A80CJ model and you explained it perfectly. You also informed me this TV now supports VRR with a firmware update so thank you for that it was the only thing I wish was on the TV, and now it is! Only other thing I’d mention is I think for owners of the A80J they should try to purchase the controller from the A90J. Cool sleek metallic construction with the awesome backlights.

I had a TCL led 60 hz XE55 with Harman Karman 6 3in speakers , it’s stopped working 6 weeks after warranty. I have just found the SONY XR A80J 120HZ, should I upgrade? Will movies and sports look and sound better? I hope oled is better, but don’t know if it’s just marketing!!! They r $3k in Australia but Black Friday sale, $1800 { the TCL was $1500 3 years ago) I know the salesman so I left deposit. Will I be happy?? Please advise

Hi man! Sometimes while playing or watching movies on my Sony a80j, the bezels (sometimes the left side and sometimes right side, but not both at the same time) become bigger, and when I return to the Home Menu the screen returns normal, do you think it is normal? For example, at minute 10:40 of your video it seems to happen the same on the right side.

My Sony Bravia KDL-40 HX800 still works great this December 1, 2022! No firmware update though. Thank you! My family loves Sony we got the smallest one the very 1st. coloured tv way back 1977. Thank you!

The LG C1/C2 is said to handle reflections better and uses a glossy screen as apposed to semi-gloss. The 77"/83" A80J is glossy.

When I turn my TV on with DirecTV remote it doesnt go to DTV, it goes to Google TV. I always have to change the input back to the DierectTV input. Annoying. How could I fix this?

So Sams clubs has the 55 inch one for 900 on sale is it 4k 120 with hdmi 2.1 ports also is it good for a ps5 and xbox so how is it for gaming

I had one important question i specifically watched for, that wasn't addressed. When this tv was released there was an auto dim function, that lowered the screen brightness after 5 mins or so. This could not be turned off before, have you noticed your screen goes dim during any content??? 🤔

I’m thinking about getting this one over the a90k. One it’s a 55” vs 48”. I wonder if the processor and oled panel are the same as 2022 models. Is this a worthy first time oled being it’s last year’s model?

I don't understand the issue of ambient light in OLED .... In El Corte Inglês, for example, it's a showroom full of light .... And I see .... with incredible quality 🤔

Other reviewers have said the A80J/A80J series don't need calibration as much as the offerings from other brands.

An honest review to the reviewer is always a good thing. Just some comments: 1. QLED black from 2021 (mini LCD) are just fantastic 2. OLED will eventually dims over time, just the nature of the technology. I would even go futher to say OLED might die like Plasma because QD-OLED will take over OLED. What's the point buying an OLED for $2300 (C2 and A80K now) when S95B is $2500?. Next year QD-OLED will even get cheaper over time but OLED might too 3. That risk of burn in is still there and it's real. 4. No one truly knows how long OLED will last since it's only around since 2013, unlike LCD for over 20 years so we know how long it might last No question about how fantastic OLED looks in the DARK but in a bright room it really struggles. Now for the A80J and it strengths and weakness: 1. Pic quality (4k and high bitrate)in the dark is great 2. The sound is fantastic (set it to "table top" position for more bass and "wall mount" position for clearer voice 3. The motion on this tv is not good with cable services and low bitrate contents, LCD are much better with these contents. 4. They are still some bugs with this tv causing apps to crash, tv shutting down automatically. The need to do a factory reset when something can't be fixed in the hope it will fix after a reset. Remember it's an Android tablet basically so you will need to hold down the power button on the remote and restart at least one a month. 5. Cracking sounds can be heard from the back of the tv at times especially when it's wall mount. So regardless if you're a fanboy or not, always rate any product on the good and bad of it. In saying all of that the sharpness of many Sony Tv I have seen is very impressive, however when purchasing a Tv you have to make a list of everything it can do and rate it yourself to see which one scores higher for YOU. This is a decent Tv but you have to take care of it and be careful of burn ins.
