Thanks so much for this video. I have been asking the same question. My only concern is the off angle viewing and I am going to have to see both models in person to see how big the difference is. Thanks again.

@jamesbost4755 The 9 is better off angle, but they both use VA panels so off angle viewing isn't they're strongest point. If you're sitting on center though, these are absolutely amazing TVs.

@@abtelectronics, curious about watching the B9 but having wall mounted where it's slightly raised above seating area, what effect that would have for viewing angle.

The Bravia 9 is only being offered to the UK in 75 inch miminum size. UK is a country with mostly small living rooms that could only accommodate a 55 inch TV, so the UK will mostly buy the bravia 7 without if the want the best 55 inch Sony LED TV. The issue with that is if that TV is in bright room with lots of lights and viewers from the side, because it's only the 75 inch Bravia 9 that has the anti reflection and x wide angle. Also I just waiting a bit longer to see if the hissing sound is still heard from the tweeters of these TVs as it was on all if the J,K nd L series when using the TV as a centre speaker sync😮 with the Sony HTA soundbars, because I had to return a X90L TV because of it.

Last year, the 85-inch and 75-inch versions of the X95L model had different display panels, with the 85-inch version having a better panel. Therefore, if you bought the 65-inch or 75-inch X95L, you got a lower-quality panel compared to the 85-inch. How are things this year with the Bravia 9 (XR90)? Does the display quality vary depending on the screen size? Are there any differences in sound or other features based on the screen size?

Nice video. I believe that the anti-glare and filter for enhanced viewing angles degrades the pq slightly. The contrast looked a little better on the 7 as did the detail.

@traderfjp We appreciate the kind words. Regarding the contrast, we'd recommend taking a look at these in person. The 9 is definitely the superior TV, but the 7 is still outstanding. In some of these clips it appears the 9 was buffering unfortunately, which is why the picture didn't look quite as sharp. We have so many different products on our networks that it happens occasionally. If you live in the Chicagoland area be sure to stop by our store. We have these both on display.

Although the 9 is better I would be fine with the 7. I have a nice sound system so that is not a factor with either tv. And if you are not looking at each side by side I think many would be happy with the 7.

The Bravia 9 needed to be in focus better guys..... it is clearly out of focus in the video vs the 7. That said the price difference shouldn't be as large as it is with these two TV's. The 9 is utterly ridiculous pricing here in Australia.... The 7 is where the 9 series used to be at 3-4 grand but the 9 for a 75 inch is now double at $7,000 (where as before as I said we bought the X95 at the now 7's price tag) so utterly huge and stupid move on Sony for the ridiculous pricing.

I have finally realized why Sony showed its backlight for the Bravia 9 by removing the top and exposing just the lights. You CANNOT see the difference between them otherwise. It's unbelievable that such a fundamental difference in backlighting would have a completely invisible impact on our eyes but all you need to do is go look at the A80L vs the X90L to see how the A80L struggles in a lot of content as did the S90C vs the X90L. It's only in some specific content where perfect contrast helps set the OLEDs apart and you need pure darkness to see it. How can the Bravia 9 be different than the Bravia 7 with just triple the zones and 4 times the contrast ratio (400,000 vs 100,000)? It simply cannot...

@furballbear Yes, the Bravia 3 is definitely on the list. We're currently working on a couple Samsung models, but once those are done we'll be doing more Sony TVs (along with several more product and how-to vids).

I finally saw the Bravia 9 , I will say, I said yay, but then the elephant in the room, the A95L, oh god so awkward, the brightness makes colors pop like none other, but the scenes looked better on the OLED. Better luck next year LCD?

$1,700 for the 7 in 55" - WOW! That's a lot of money but I'm sure the quality is worth every dollar. I am not interested in the TV speakers because I would rather use a soundbar myself. Do all Sony TV's include Google TV?

The 7 is great value and if you're streaming it's really not worth it at all to spend more until WiFi speeds, upscaling and compression get far better which these greedy companies in America will milk it as long as they can and keep charging us more for specs that should just be up to date and the same price and your tvs specs are what deliver it!! These companies now charge for better picture and sound not to mention charging you more every year because of "inflation" it's so disgusting. It would be like cable companies charging more in the 90's for color tv when it was already a color tv that we bought.

It's impressive that Sony is still improving LCD TVs with their new backlight technology. The Bravia 7 and 9 are bright with impressive shadow detail but if you prefer OLED there's the Bravia 8. Hopefully Abt Electronics covers that TV soon.
