#sonyfx3 #sonya7s3 #sonyfx6 After watching The Boys In The Boat I must admit I take up my Sony FX3 a lot more often..... Maybe Sony colors don't suck after all maybe its YOU 👀 CINENIMUS.COM
Oh no not all 8bit are equal and resolution has nothing to do with anything. Best example Fujifilm XT2 - shoots 8bit 4:2:0 and footage looks stunning 👌
@@CINENIMUS You just confirmed some cameras shoot better than sony's shitty 8bit footage, kinda opposite of what you are trying to imply in this video, trust me bro I used sony a7M3 for 4 years and 1080p 8bit was terrible when I jump to 4k suddenly the 6k downsampled footage from that camera looked far better I also did some green screen vfx on it. newer sony cameras has improved colors significantly but still behind canon and others
I disagree - depends what you want from a camera. My gold standard of a camera is one that gets me closest to the actual film - sony is really close now closer than most
i tried liking Sony colours , but they just look way too digital for me compared to ARRI , RED .etc . You did a great job grading it but sony just has this look .😅
They're quite undersaturated, like that they are quite ok after all. With stronger saturation however, I never liked Sony colors... I am a Fuji guy :-)
Sony colors are unnatural, and when you increase saturation you immediately will see poisonous greens and unpleasant oranges. Some people think that "cinematic" means some weird color grading, in which case all cameras produce equally unnatural (in my view ugly) colors.
Who told you they suck? right now we are entering the Canon color suck dilemma (when everything was shot on canon), where everything is shot on sony so people by default will say it sucks as you see it everywhere...
SOOC they do suck but after you slap on a good LUT or Film Nitrate it looks great. Not a fan of Sony's Slog3 conversion LUT. There are much better ones out there. The magentas and blues aren't good until adjusted, imo.
I dont use luts have no issues with any colour shifts or anything if you do - consider exposing higher 👌(all camera 709 conversions are just that - a gamut compression)
@@CINENIMUS I do shoot correctly/expose correctly for Slog3, lol. You must edit in DaVinci and do Color Space Transform. Majority of users in other NLE’s do use Sony’s provided LUT.
Then I have no idea why you have bad colour - maybe you do too much there is a lot of bad info on RU-vid I have seen some crazy big node trees that make footage look junk people dont even knwo what the half nodes are for and just over manipulate the image. For instance I never exceed 5 nodes and if I really had to could do it in 3 (the other 2 are just for extra flexibility). Anyhow best I can suggest - watch less youtube and more quality movies haha personally 1994-2010 era has some of the most beautifully shot / coloured stuff ever made. Best of luck 🖖
@@CINENIMUS I edit in Premiere Pro. Simply the footage and Slog3 to Rec.709 conversion LUT made by Sony. Phantom LUTs are much better, and Film Nitrate even better. Just SOOC image though with Sony’s LUT is no good. And what haha YT is great, as are movies. Only reason I’m here right now is because you replied with a link to a video of yours on my Facebook post.
When you screw colors intentionally, it's no longer Sony colors, or Canon colors, or Nikon colors -- it's your unnatural colors. Some people may like them, others will find them ugly. When people are talking about Sony colors sucking they mean that Sony doesn't reproduce well pleasing natural colors. The reason in my opinion is the Sony CFA design, namely 500-600nm region where green and red transmission curves overlap, and that affects the reproduction of green, orange, yellow colors, which especially noticeable in natural greens and skin tones.
@@CINENIMUS Then the whole World is noob boy. Also, show those colors on more than 4 shots (one that you have repeated twice lol). Sony is simply too digital. Other aspects are amazing tho.
