It'll never be released in Sony only because ORIGINALLY Kotor was Xbox Only and then ported to pc because if Sony actually "cared" they would have pulled devs from other teams but they haven't the remake will get killed off for God war or spiderman or Rachet and Clank or Jax but it's obvious for me Sony is going to ruin this game and remake

This what happens when Sony wants a game "exclusive" but when the game isn't spiderman or God of war I have zero faith in PlayStation either killing off or ruining my entire childhood

I adopted that mentality from the beginning, along with “It's going to suck” so as not to have any nasty surprises. And no matter what happens, we still have the original.

@@ElRevenio I have a feeling that the remake will never be released only because if Sony really wanted kotor for "exclusively" for their shit system they would have pulled devs from other teams to help, and it's obvious if the remake is a huge flop for ps5 it'll be a bigger loss than not getting starfield and Square Enix porting their Sony "exclusive" games like ff14 or ff7 remake and new ff game to Mircosoft so for me it's obvious Sony will kill off kotor because ORIGINALLY it first release on the og Xbox then it got ported to pc

I think it’s an ego thing. You see, these people are fully aware that outside of graphical updates, even the slightest change to the dialogue, character design, or art style would ENRAGE the fanbase (rightfully so). We also happen to live in an era where most people who are hired to resurrect a dormant, beloved IP/product have less concern about honoring what came before, and more concerned about establishing themselves and putting their own stamp on what they’re working on. Knowing they’ll get crucified for this fills them with resentment, sometimes even hatred for what they’re working on, because they’re forced to confront that it’s not about themselves. So where they would typically put ina great deal of effort to ensure that production goes smoothly, because they’re working on something beloved that they didn’t come up with, they just don’t care and allow mistake after mistake to be made because they’re not getting any personal glory out of this anyway

That’s why we need to stop referring to their content as “canon” regardless of quality. We decide what is and isn’t canon, and that label should be earned, not bought.

Very hard to say when it'll come out as in one hand what aspyr made was near completion, but on the other hand just how much are they going to rework off of what aspyr started? It could be all of it or just some parts, the whole combat could be shifted. Hopefully it just slight adjustments so that it can come within the next two years

Trailer licenses are often crafted differently to general IP licenses. And like I said, music is very finicky.

Sony wasn’t happy with Aspyr’s performance. So they gave the development to Embracer. We don’t know how Sony feels about Embracer’s progress yet.

@@maiyadonut No Embracer OWNS Aspyr.. PS bought exclusivity to it so they funded development but it was Aspyr that was developing it, Sony said something last year so embracer being the owner said “No we can save it Sony allow us to pass it to Saber Interactive”.. And we’re here..

360? Do you have an Xbox one or series X? If so I recommend playing on that because the back compat on that is SO MUCH BETTER than it ever was on 360. Xbox 360 emulation more or less barely worked and it made KOTOR 2 (an already buggy experience on console with no content restoration mod) even buggier.

If that means that Disney themselves pulled the music (not an expert on this so idk if that’s right), that feels significant.

Originally, yes, there was going to be a KOTOR 3, but it was cancelled when it was decided that instead of a single player RPG, the devs at Bioware were going to take a crack at the MMORPG market and make The Old Republic MMO... a MMO that now is legacy content in its entirety because Disney is very selective on what t wants to canonize or not. As for this remake, its supposed to be a remake of the original Knight of the Old Republic.

Also any word if they are gonna remake number 2 as well or is number 1 it only? Because I play number 2 a fair but and I feel like it's a incomplete game as well with a lot of doors that don't open but clearly have stuff behind them from what I can see on the map
