Hi, at 0:19 in the video the DC input is shown, the charger for the camcorder must be plugged into there. Alternatively the charger can be plugged into the Handycam station shown at 5:49. If you need the charger, the model is AC - L200B.

Hi! Could you tell me how well this camera picks up audio, as well as if it has a headphone jack to listen to/review videos?
@AlexanderR0623
@AlexanderR0623 9 месяцев назад
Hi, the camera picks up audio pretty well in my opinion, the mic is pretty sensitive which does mean sounds from the cassette mechanism can be picked up in the recordings, however, some external mic's can also be used with the hot shoe located on the top of the camcorder (although they may be hard to find). This camcorder also does not have a headphone jack, I believe the pc 330 does though.

hi! do you happen to have the link to the memory stick that you used for the camera? i tried looking at the different memory sticks that were available but i am not sure which one to buy
@AlexanderR0623
@AlexanderR0623 Год назад
Hi there are many different memory sticks that can be bought online, I personally bought one from Amazon. As long as the card is a memory stick duo, it should work just fine, here is a link to an 8gb card for example: www.amazon.co.uk/LICHIFIT-Memory-Stick-Card-High-speed/dp/B0B49LR65Z/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=19J9YGWJKOWFY&keywords=memory%2Bstick%2Bduo%2B8gb&qid=1691446683&sprefix=memory%2Bstick%2Bduo%2B8gb%2Caps%2C102&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1. Also, adapters do exist which allows a micro sd card to be used in the camera: www.amazon.co.uk/LEAGY-MagicGate-Handycam-Playstation-Portable/dp/B07VYWVQ8S/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=memory%2Bstick%2Bduo%2Badapter&qid=1691446923&sprefix=memory%2Bstick%2Bduo%2Bada%2Caps%2C87&sr=8-5&th=1

Any info of the usb port on the bottom bracket? Any purpose of that?

@AlexanderR0623 Год назад
Hi, There is a USB port on the dock for transferring files from the memory card to your pc, unfortunately you can't transfer video from the tape onto your computer with this port (as you will need to use fire-wire, the IEEE 1394 port).

@@AlexanderR0623 it said acces denied and i dont have a charger if it needs one because i just found it a few days ago and now its just sitting in my room doing nothing and there a few tapes but i dont know how to eject the current tape and i dont have the remote
@AlexanderR0623
@AlexanderR0623 Год назад
@@michaelsusanto5159 Hi, I have never seen "access denied" appear on the screen, did any error codes show up? (They will look like "c:32:11" for example), if not, the manual should state the issue. A charger will be needed if the battery no longer has charge of course, and power is needed to eject the tape, ejecting the tape is very simple and is shown at 3:50 in the video. Also a remote is not necessary since all functions can be controlled on the touch screen.

Hi, I just received my DCR-350e! I would like to know how I could transfer the digital videos to my computer? Thanks.
@AlexanderR0623
@AlexanderR0623 Год назад
Hi, nice camcorder! To capture the digital videos from your computer you will firstly need the Handycam station (model DCRA C111) and a firewire cable, the port on your device can vary, although the port for the camera is called the IEEE 1394 port. Depending on the devices that you own, you could use an older windows laptop or pc with a firewire port and use windows movie maker or WinDV to capture the footage digitally, final cut pro still supports DV capture apparently, so a modern mac could be used (adapters will be needed to turn thunderbolt into firewire, and I have never owned a mac so I wouldn't be much help with this), lastly you could use a fire-wire PCIe card in a modern PC or use adapters to turn thunderbolt into firewire on a modern laptop and use WinDV to capture the footage digitally. WinDV is free but hasn't been developed in quite some time, however it should work just fine on windows 10 and 11. Another option is to take footage from the analogue outputs (The Handycam station won't be needed for this), this camcorder has an s-video and AV port which can be plugged into a capture card or a DVD player (although Sony AV adapters will be needed to convert the AV port to RCA connectors), DVD footage can be copied onto a pc with an optical drive and footage from the capture card can be directly placed onto your computer . Although, capturing digitally will of course provide a better looking video. There are the main ways (that I know of) to convert digital videos from your camcorder to files on your computer. @@AlexanderR0623 Thank you for this great answer! If I understood correctly, if I want to go through Windows, all I need is a FireWire cable + a USB adapter and WinDV?

@@AlexanderR0623 Because when I buy my camcorder, I only have an Audio/Video cable (yellow and red) and I would like to digitize the cassettes on my computer. On my computer I have USB and USB-C ports. I can also buy other cable on the internet but I don't know where to go
@AlexanderR0623
@AlexanderR0623 Год назад
@@jolsy4368 Oh ok, so firstly these USB-C ports must be thunderbolt ports (a quick search on your computer using the internet should provide the answer to whether it has these ports) although thunderbolt uses the USB-C style port so physically they look identical. Amazon and eBay are great places to buy these adaptors and cables (apple adaptors are recommended ) although in general, using a modern machine to capture footage is honestly quite a hassle since we need many different adaptors just to turn Thunderbolt 3 into an IEEE 1394 port, and this will be quite expensive also. However, I have found a video on RU-vid that should explain everything: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GASIuX1mqwE.html. Depending on the price of these adaptors and cables, it might also be worth looking into getting an old and cheap windows XP or windows 7 laptop from eBay (making sure that it has an IEEE 1394 port as well as USB ports and getting one single cable going from IEEE 1394 to IEEE 1394) and then installing winDV onto a USB stick and transferring it onto the laptop, files captured from that old laptop can be copied onto a USB stick and then onto your modern computer (this is less than ideal), but if it works out cheaper than the adaptors, it might be the more reliable solution since those operating systems support DV capture much more than the newer operating systems (this is also the method that I personally use).

Hi, on this camcoder you will need a docking station (called the handycam station dcra c111) for the IEEE 1394 and USB port.

How would you get the footage taken on tape onto your PC or phone?
@AlexanderR0623
@AlexanderR0623 2 года назад
Hi, there are multiple ways to get the footage from tape onto your computer but it depends on the devices you own. If you have an old windows xp, vista or 7 PC with a fire-wire port then you can connect your camcorder to that via the IEEE 1394 port and use windows movie maker to capture the footage. I believe that you can also use an old iMac/MacBook with a fire-wire port and use final-cut to capture footage that way (unfortunately I'm pretty unfamiliar with apple products and wouldn't be much help with final-cut). If you do not have these devices then you could convert your footage from the av jack (mini dv is a digital format so you would want to transfer the footage digitally for the best picture quality) from the av jack you could buy a capture card and send the captures to your PC or simply plug it into a DVD recorder and burn a DVD (or record onto the HDD if one is installed) and transfer the footage by copying the contents of the DVD onto your PC from an optical drive or plug a USB stick into the recorder and transfer the footage from the HDD onto that. Those are some ways (that I know of) to convert footage from tapes onto your PC or phone. I am planning on making a video demonstrating how to convert the footage digitally from Mini DV tapes and also Micro MV tapes to your PC.
