I have the mark 3 and an amazing “Summer” camera. Perfect in good light anyway still far from a bigger sensor camera. If sony can make something similar with apsc size sensor that’s will be amazing.

Agreed. They should be able to put a better sensor, or improved sensor tech into the camera, eventually? I imagine it has to do with cost/benefits and all that. I don't find the request "out there" and people who buy this might actually be MORE inclined to own dSLRs and extra kit. This could be a serious hobbyists backup camera? I don't think images are sharp enough on any of the bridges yet to really eliminate the "serious" slrs out there. It's getting close though. 4K is a game changer.

This camera has 12.6 stops of DR at base iso, which actually bests the Canon 6D. So if you shoot at base ISO, which with its bright lens and image stabilization (plus greater depth of field per aperture stop) you should be able too do just as well as DSLR's in many cases.

I have the RX10 mk I for two years now. Although the dynamic range is not rated badly, the noisy shadows make part of it unusable. What I mean is a full frame camera with 12.6 stops of DR will perform much better actually. I love the camera anyway, that's not a big issue (for my use). @@dangernba Da kann man sich mit DXD Pure RAW II sehr gut helfen und am besten bei viel Licht auf die Lichter belichten, also auf den Punkt. Mit der Zeit kennt man sie immer besser.

Thanks for the review. The #Sony #RX10M4 is the #King of #Bridge #Superzoom #Cameras. It rules them all, yet expensive. A bridge with 1" sensor, or a 1.5" Sensor (or a 1.5" multi aspect sensor like the #LX100, why not?) is a good compromise. I have the #90D, the #SL2 and the #SX530HS.... My first digital bridge camera was the #SX530HS... it's 1/2.3-inch sensor but you get a lot from it than a smartphone. The market is shrinking... Smartphones are pretty advanced today, good for people who want to shoot decent photos and for people you want to share on social medias for "quick views and likes"... This is what most people do today,... printing is rare, but a lot of social medias. For social medias, it's mainly smartphone: then difficult to tell the difference between 4k and 1080p, a photo shooted with an 1" sensor or #M43, #APSC, maybe with a #FullFrame,... People on social medias don't really pay attention to details... They look quickly, like and/or comment, Sroll down Some like without even really look... But smartphones can't replace camera and the glass (optics) for now... How many cameras you have to add to a cellphone to really compete a digital camera? I have a #Samsung #Galaxy smartphone, its awesome, this makes me thinking what Samsung could deliver if they did not exit the digital camera market. The #NX1 was an amazing #APSC. People will come back a bit to digital cameras, at least for advanced compacts, beginner mirrorless , when they are tired of selfies. Digital camera companies are learning as well, the camera apps are getting better and better.... #Zeiss understands the concept, #ZX1: #Shoot + #Edit in camera (app or #Lightroom) and #Share =>>> as quick as possible!!! Bridge superzoom cameras are a good option for people who want to learn photography without putting too much money on gears. Bridge cameras offer DSLR / Mirrorless like functionalities. Lessons learned with them help when you upgrade to a bigger camera, bigger sensor, ... that was my case when I switch to an #APSC. The 1" sensor bridge cameras are awesome... Sony / Canon / Nikon / Panasonic Lumix / Leica : 1.- Waiting to see what #Sony #SonyAlpha will deliver us with a #RX10MV, but hope the screen will be a fully articulated one. Don't know if they have plan for a new menu system?!?! 2.- Hope #Canon with add built-in EVF in the next #G3X, the #PowershotG3XMII, why not a #CanonEOSRP body like? 3.- #Nikon should bring back the #DL24-500, the specs were amazing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AUJL_JuyoM0.html 4.- I guess #Panasonic #Lumix will upgrade the popular #FZ2500 / #FZ2000 => #FZ2500MII / #FZ2000MII => The famous Dad Cam!! 5.- Owners of #FZ1000MII and #LeicaVLux5 / #VLux5 are happy. #PanasonicLumix #FZ2500M2 / #FZ2000M2 = #G95 / #G90 with fixed lens? iso 800 and above I have no control of with this camera with regards to picture quality in post don't know why because all v loggers on youtube seem to think its great. had this camera for 4 weeks now and finding it hard on longer shots to get quality images.

My mai concern with this is changing the zoom quickly, usually needed for aircraft, how quick can the zoom move?? Can you take pictures as the zoom moves?

I have this camera, it is a great camera for just about everything, but low light. I shoot a lot of indoor hockey, and struggle with a lot of noise at ISO 3200. Other than that, it is a great camera, as well as it shoots up to 960fps in High Speed Framerate mode.

I love this camera another benefit is many sport and music venues don't allow detachable lens cameras and this allows great shots from the back row!

You must learn to shoot with a tripod if you want your ISO down. In fact there is no camera with good ISO 3200 APS-C or ether full frame. One of my best wildlife shoots who were admired even from National Geographic was from Sony RX 10 IV. So if you know what are you doing you can shoot amazing photos with any bridge camera even with 1/2.3'' sensor size! The big advantage on this Sony camera is the AF performance. This camera can catch any flying object dosen't matter how fast was moving!

@@dangernba Yes this camera can focus in any light.If this camera can not catch something flying no other camera can do it. But keep in mind your photos in the dark will be noise if you use higher ISO settings. But who wants to shoot colorful birds in the dark with high ISO settings? That's will be disaster.But if you shoot something flying on the sunset background that's another story :) Good luck

@@kirostar12 my Canon 6D is pretty amazing in low light. Shooting live bands on dimly light stages going as high as ISO 5000, a little noise, but nothing hideous like on my retired Canon 50D!

How is the battery Life? It's pretty pricey

Depends on how you shoot. If you shoot two or three images then turn it off, after a while turn it on again and shoot, and so on, it will last about 400 shots. If you shoot in fast burst mode without turning it off and on again, it will last over 1000 shots. Much worse than a DSLR, but pretty usable. I carry one spare battery, but never need it.

Can you imagine the cost, size and weight of a 24-600 mm f2.4-4 equivalent lens, sized up to cover a larger sensor???

Great stuff, but that thing (piece of food?) on your lower lip is very distracting. Someone left a comment saying it was a "lip ring." I kept hoping you would brush it off. At any rate, enjoyed the video, but my own issue (OCD) got in the way.
