Honestly, you blow away a lot of the reviewers on RU-vid with much more comparo information for the consumer. I thought those XM-5's looked a little cheap and you brought up the recycled plastic usage which most reviewers wouldn't even know or touch on this fact. I love how you scrutinize the ear pads quality. Bang up job.
The xb910n are more than enough for me after I found the proper EQ (treble bass with a bit of tweaking), on plane the anc blocked absolutely everything with and without music. If you don't have the budget for the xm4's these will make you very very happy:)
I am considering the xb910n because it's as close to the xm3 or slightly close to the xm4s in terms of sound quality, sound separation and sound imaging. My main reason for not going for xm4 is budget. Xm4 here goes for around 90$ more than the xb910n
i had xb910n and they are really good for the price and have a really nice bass the only thing I would say if u like loud headphones youre not gonna like them that much but thats a minor con considering everything from anc to ambient and bass
There needs to be more transparency on the fact that the XM5s have a "low gear" and "high gear" when it comes to ANC, and you need to hit a certain threshold before the better ANC kicks in. In normal use, the XM4 has better ANC in my experience, so I wonder at what volume you're setting the noise simulations at.
@@TennisMA so I assume that you need adaptive sound control to be turned on? I've turned it off as it screws up the pause when headphones are taken off function.
If Sony wanted to manufacture headphones like the 1000 xm5, that's fine but it seems like they should have chosen a different name. Especially considering that they are not ending production of the 1000 xm4 which is a good thing. Just even more confusion all around.
What makes you feel that you want to change ? Or that's not really the case ? Are you kind of waitting for them to stop working or ? Im about get one pair oh headphones myself, and I would like to hear what you have to say. At this point Im leaning towards the 910n's because I believe it's a good product for a reasonable price
I’m debating between the xb910s and the xm4s. I travel a lot on planes and I’m also a student so I want good noise canceling but a comfortable fit. But I love music and movies at a loud volume with no leakage. Which would be the better fit
Hi, does the XB910N noise canceling function work with cable plugged in? I'm planning to buy noise canceling headphones to use at work and my company's computer only allows cable headphones. Thanks in advance.
I tried the 910n’s and xm4’s on display at bestbuy, and they sounded very different. The main difference was that the vocals on the 910n’s were more so in the background. The xm4 vocals were more pronounced. You’re able to EQ fix that right?
At 9:38 yes unless your streaming music from like tidal or amazon music where it can go much higher audio codec as apple music and Spotify maxes out at aac on apple devices.
i'm using the xm3 for the office ... f*king open space... that's my only use... I must give them back to my friend so I need to buy a pair... can I save money with xb910n or i must pick the 4 or 5? I want at least the noise cancelling of the 3 that I'm used to use. What someone can suggest me? Thank you.
Great depth in terms contents you cover as compared to any headphone review vidz available on YT. Just a small feebldback - It would be appreciated if you csn show the sepcs in a tabular form with in-comparision to all 4 headphones, as it'll be little easier to pause the video and compare it better.! :) Thanks again for the great review.
For me using headphone is listen music, not for extra feature like quick attention & speak to chat to accidentally stop or lower the music, for introverted person this feel nonsense & stupid feature.
I can understand the slip, given Sony's complicated naming conventions. When you're comparing Sony products with all these letters and numbers in their names, things may get mixed up sometimes.
I currently have both XB910N and XM5. I purchased XM5 after trying XM4, XB910N and XM5 at my local Best Buy. I found XM5 to be the most comfortable. I like the extra bass in XB910N, but the overall sound quality of XM5 is so much better. Listening to the same song back to back on XB910N and XM5, you hear details that were completely missing from XB910N. However the immersive experience XB910N provides with its thumping bass is really nice.
Same ! I travel a ton , this year alone i took 35 plane rides and I won't leave without my XM3 , they have a ton of miles on them and I don't see a reason to upgrade yet .
I would love to see the CH710N against other budget headphones like the Soundcore Life Q30 or the JBL Tune 760nc. Edit: by the way, here in Qatar, the retail price of the CH710N is around 80 USD, which is really great considering that the release price was 200 USD.
God damn that’s cheap! I have had the 710Ns since last year. Most ok headphones I’ve had. I use them a lot and the battery is great but nothing special overall, this of course compared to my other headphones (QC35II, WH1000XM3, WF1000XM3 and Skullcandy Hesh 2)
@@Sparkball I have heard the Soundcore life q30 offer excellent noise cancellation for that same 80 dollars, I am probably gonna get them instead, but who knows?
I’ll save him the trouble of responding, but he said in a previous video that they have been delisted from the Sony website so he will no longer include them.
XM5 is a rare shit move by Sony 30mm drivers down from the XM4s 40mm drivers which already struggled to provide thumping bass? Non-Foldable design? Design that moved towards "slEeKnEsS" in all aspects reducing comfort and usability? I'm surprised it isn't a 150$ downgrade model from the XM4 As an XM4 owner, the only envy I have is the mic quality
@@michelleaukes4411 my apologies if you’re seeing this notification again. Accidentally deleted it but I went back to best buy to test out both the xm4 and xm5 myself after seeing multiple reviewers indicating that there wasn’t a major difference between the two. And it turns out they were correct. Its just the ANC thats slightly better thats all. At the end I decided to go with the xm4 because I preferred that design over the xm5 as well as the color options.
@@smdjuhurr9474 as far as sound quality and for me the XM5s were way more comfortable than the XB910ns so I ended up with the XM5s right now and loving them!
