We didn’t include anything about Manchester City because “Manchester is red” according to Vjeran. Everyone is confused by what that means, but he said you’ll understand.
Check the premier league table this season? Who’s in the champions league? Who has won more PL in the last decade? Who has the best midfielder and striker in the world? Tell Vrejan to go find a corner and sit down
I thought the excessive dystopian ads in Cyberpunk 2077 were exaggeratedly excessive but then again as i see ads in cars like this one, I start to realize that maybe cyberpunk 2077 was onto something...
Anyone else feel like Afeela is a shockingly bad brand name? It feels like something an intern would put on the whiteboard in desperation wanting to go home at 6pm.
I thought the same, not to mention it's a breeding ground for memes. Not a great step for an established brand like Sony, esp with it's budget and pulling power.
@@razgriz380 if the end product is good than memes will be a good marketing campaign. If the end product is bad than yes it will be bad, but no big deal. Just ask Ubisoft lol. Plenty of memes yet effective marketing.
I remember when Sony FIRST talked about this YEARS ago and it was a wild announcement, and even then I remember how they were focusing it on being a technology platform. There's a consistency to this announcement which I think speaks positively to how serious they are. Are they serious about making their own car under their own brand? Not so much but I think they are very serious about bringing this platform of sensor suites, visual communication, user interface, etc to market whether in their own collab with Honda as shown here or as something they license out to other manufactuers.
Sony is aiming at the robo taxi future where three factors will determine whose robo taxi one summons: 1) price per mile, 2) availability to pick one up quickly, and 3) entertainment available on the trip. As autonomous level five driving is achieved, the driver will no longer have anything to do in the car, and it becomes an entertainment platform.
@@GogiTavadze sure, but would you rather watch a movie on your phone or on a 15" screen? Play a game on your phone or on a 15" screen? Would you rather have sound from your phone speaker or from a really nice surround sound stereo system? Sony and Tesla both clearly see where demand will be in the future and are preparing, I assume Apple is doing the same, but that seems to be it. Every other automaker is clueless that the future of their products is as transportation/entertainment centers. And of course it is not just consumer demand, it will also provide an ongoing revenue stream for the automakers via advertising on the screens and data sales. A company in the mall will pay a lot more for you to play an add while the customer is in a robo taxi heading to the mall than they pay for an add while the customer is sitting in their living room or has the TV on while they wash dishes.
@@sean_mc Not in the car space but i'de say the sony brand overall is seen as much cooler than honda and it's also a tech company which would give the car more cred. After all it is going to be packed with tech. The playstation generation would have totally bought a SONY branded car.
So now we'll have a Sony car, Apple is currently developing a car of their own behind the scenes, so now we'll patiently wait for the Xbox-car 🤣 Seems like the electric car is the "next big thing".
Both those companies are stupid for getting involved in cars. If they want to develop entertainment systems for the car go ahead but there are perils to doing that for a brands image. Apple has a massive problem on the horizon.
Before we dismiss Sony, lets keep in mind that they have a history of branching out into different industries. This goliath Japanese conglomerate has it's presences in many industries, notably: Photography with its Cameras TVs and media devices Gaming obviously Music as a recording label Movies with Sony pictures Laptops If this conglomerate can keep a largely ignored Sony Xperia smartphone company going through all these years - it'll have no problem with throwing money into EVs lol
They also have TV studios and channels, they provide an online bank and finance services in Japan, they make customized camera sensors for Apple, Nikon, Huawei, Xiaomi and other companies.
HowlingFishProducts Raw fish you do? You like Haring ? After WWII, we supported the semiconductor industry, they did what Ford did for cars on transistors. apple is the new Sony now
What happens to sony's phones? They had interesting concepts back in the day, and really high-quality displays, i remember having sony xperia P, which was amazing for this time.
I like sony, but not sure who this is aimed at, guess time will tell. From what I saw, not sure why they needed a new brand and not just keep it as a Honda car, which is already very well respected.
I saw only ONE game of race in Meta Quest and it was on beta and really fun. I don't understand why nobody is developing more race games for VR. Bringing Grand Turismo to VR is a huge selling point.
My issue is that I feel like I need to buy a steering wheel to enjoy them properly. After a couple of races, holding out my arms while turning becomes less and less fun
I would only purchase a Sony Honda car if it were manufactured in Japan. I’ve owned four American made Hondas…if you are interested as to why I want one from Japan.
The tech sounds impressive, but it's all wrapped in a package that's uninspired and lacking any real identity. It could easily be mistaken for a Lucid Air. Hopefully, the production version will be less generic than this prototype.
sony honda should go all in with micromobility/minimobility, a space close to honda motorcycle leadership... this looks a lucid air 5 years later (with playstation)
Not only is "Afeela" a silly name on its face, it's also baffling that a partnership between two Japanese brands chose a name with an "L" in it, that must be a nightmare internally.
Sony's vision for the future is what concerns me. Sony's insistence on me watching Sony entertainment, using Sony products, wanting me to engage with the "social environment" and change how I look at socialization and driving whilst also selling me on next gen VR + everything else that Sony is (Sony headphones, Sony cameras) -- it's all a little too much and isn't convincing that that's how I'll live my life in the future. It's the opposite -- I don't want to spend time in a car to entertain myself and I don't want to drive a car with more cameras and sensors than I can count. People are trendy but slow to adopt innovation. I don't know if any of these ideas is the next big thing but rather a bump until someone simplifies it down even further.
Exactly bro. No one is looking at SONY like a modern day POWERHOUSE of innovation. They are mostly high value and where they are at because of their success in the past. They're like your grandpa, trying to keep up with modern technology and lingo. Their ability to foresee the future is not too great lol.
