JBL : 2 Full range drivers, 2 tweeters and 2 Huge passive radiators. Sony : 2 (Full range?) Drivers, 1 passive radiator. Its obvoius who wins.

JBL has a low frequency mode that can be applied on any of their current Bluetooth speakers. So it lets you get down into the lower Hertz and amplify them

Both are a great speakers, I just bought the XB40, I like it, but my only concern is, when the battery goes down at 50% the volume drops as well at 50%, someone have the same issue or my speaker are damage

sadly my friend , this is how it is with this speaker (the xb30 also) - sony really messed up on this and its pretty lame. maybe they will have a firmware update , but i doubt they will , this is how it is with sony , its usually a mixed bag.

JBL has a better punchy and defined independent clear bass that doesn't interfer with the audio, sony by the other hand has a "boxed" sounding bass that doesn't sound that satisfying (imo), I had the srs-xb30 and no doubt Sony has a great warm sound on the mid-range in comparison to the harsh sounding JBL on the 1500-ish herzt, it's a matter of tastes, I like how the JBL sounds because it has a cleaner sound, and the belt to carry it on your shoulder is something sony should consider on those considerably "heavy" portable speakers

JBL has nice : pump, pump, pump but Sony goes definlity deeper. But there's my notice : you must listen this soundcheck with two full range speakers with another subwoofer who makes best experience than headphones, bescuse when i listened few days ago this same comparision with pretty well headphones i was sure the JBL goes definlity deeper and Sony hasn't got any chance with tweaks and bass. Sorry for my english bescuse i still learning

At 1.53 the Sony's bass sounded way better at 50%. Hands down jbl has the bass at higher volume and clear sound because it has tweeters. What would happen if the Sony had tweeters ? ❤🤙🏿

If you're mainly blasting music at max volume outside or at a party then JBL. But if you going to use it mainly indoor and not on max volume all the time then get the sony. The sony's sound quality is better at lower volumes and you can adjust the EQ to your taste.

in any volume there are differences - i think that 50 % vol is a nice reference point for this kind of comparison , check out my video about the sb40 where i play with vol levels

Sony speakers can have more bass, but they still sound unclear on high frequencies because of the lack of tweeters, unlike the JBL Xtreme.

The sony is compact and good material, apart has very good bass up rumbles very well the lower frequencies and for my taste I prefer sony and I have seen many videos of these two speakers and noticed that at the beginning of volume jbl has better fidelity and bass Very dry never hear that rumble but increasing the volume jbl the sound is at least bad for me this very sharp clear that that can be improved with the equalizer this is my umilde opininon.

Jbl sounds better, but jbl needs to fix or put better internal batteries in there shit. Both my jbl Xtreme will not play without being plugged in. My brother has the same issue with his jbl charge speaker.

In most cases the JBL won (but not by much) but where the JBL occassionally sounded tiny the Sony had constant good sound, even though the JBL technically one I personally like the Sony more .

Jbl sound is not really clear.. Music balance is not good... Just more base... But Sony have clear sound.. With good base. Easy to hear every single instrument... I had jbl extreme but today I exchange with Sony srs xb40... Anyway Sony known by better music in market.

+Willtato yes I've grown to pretty much hate the xtreme sound , that I once loved , compared to more capable speakers , it sounds so compressed , boomy , and has that bass feedback ... the Sony isn't perfect either , but its bass can get lower , and at low volumes it sounds a lot fuller , plus it can be adjusted with an eq that comes with the app

soundwise channel I'm torn between the two. The don't has that darn battery thing where it limits the sound at a certain %. But the xtreme has that battery problem after a while apparently. Both seem great, but the xtreme has that strap so you can take it with you and it sounds louder(not as muffled) wish I could hear them in person. I'm buying one this black Friday and honestly haven't a clue. Which one sounds better indoors? Can the xb40 fill a room with sound? Is it clear?

Sony has more natural sound, jbl is fuckng your head with unnatural sound.Jbl's highs are so shine, sony's highs are natural.Sony has more battery life and it has beautiful illimunation.Sony has Ldac (990kbps/909kbps).Finally, winner is the Sony XB40
