I’m thinking about buying this Blu ray player on Black Friday. I read some problems with freezing/ skipping and not reading certain disks. I’m corncerned about the blu ray player.
Is it still a good option to invest in a 4k blu ray in 2022, will the 4k uhd-bd players and formats be discontinued? 4k players at how many fps does a 4k blu ray play?
Not sure about fps. However, I think a 4k player is an excellent idea still. I think you're probably gonna see the more streaming, less physical media trend continue. But, I think collectors like myself are a big enough market to keep the 4K and bluray formats thriving. You'll probably see less in stores, but there's some really cool things happening with specialty labels like Criterion, Arrow Video, etc.
This is the best value 4k player and I highly recommend it. It has all the features you would need such as dolby vision and atmos. It is has been great, I have owned it for 3 years.
I don't think so. I haven't checked in a while so I can't say for sure. I didn't realize initially that you can't add apps to the device, so there's just a limited amount of pre-selected apps. That's probably the only downside I've experienced so far. The 4k discs look beautiful!
Sony UBP-X700 blu-ray 4K Ultra HD players are JUNK!!!! Bought ine in Nov. 2022. It quit producing sound. Would freeze up. Kick you back to the units home screen. Went through 7+ months of fighting with Sony and two factory replacement units. For Sonys engineers to FINALLY admit there is a problem with the units memory. Sony took all that time of jerking me around before they ADMITTED there was a problem bad enough to buy back the last unit Sony sent me. Will never buy another Sony product.
Sounds like BS if there was a problem like that they wouldn’t be selling them if none of them would work, they’ve literally been making this model for like five years now!!! Secondly how did you speak to a Sony engineer lol about that (The engineers that designed this model are in Japan can you speak Japanese) i’ve had this model for two years and have never had to skip a freeze once and I watch movies on it almost every night. If you’re gonna make up a lie don’t make up a stupid one!!!
@@michaeldietz2648 i have the emails to and from Sony and shipping receipts to prove it. As well as a compliant filed with the Better Buisness Bureau over it. Sony has went down hill over the past few decades in quality. The last T.V. my now deceased mother bought was a Sony. And it quit producing sound around two yrs old. I will never buy Sony electronics again.
One rubbish 4k player I had two from January last year Picture freezing Picture skipping Disc draw wouldn't open And both players locked out when changing it onto 4k in the main menu Give up in the end with this player. Now on a Panasonic 4k blu-ray player which for my money is fair better than player well ever be One world Rubbish
Wow! I have the exact same 4k player and I also bought it from Walmart. It was a great deal compared to the price that Best Buy was selling it for right next door. A few months later I saw the price marked down at Walmart once again except it was only THAT specific individual box. The others were priced higher but this specific one may have been an open box returned repackaged or display model and the yellow sticker had the price exactly where you have that duct tape covering YOUR box. 🤣 🤔 $134.50? 😉
As Somebody has a PS5 I can tell you you are completely wrong, The 700m has Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision two things PS5 does not have!!! Dedicated players look better than game consuls because a dedicated player is meant to do one thing play movies.
