Is your xb43 defective or are you leaving it in stamina mode? If you're leaving it in stamina mode why are you doing that when YOU personally stated it makes the speaker sound flat? Other reviewers come up with the exact opposite result you came up with.

Watched DLX's first and now I come here... With all due respect, either you are _very_ biased (hope not) or you just got a faulty unit. Doesn't make any sense that your Xtreme 2 is much louder while on DLX's it's the opposite (his XB43 is not much louder but it IS louder than the Xtreme 2). I was already suspecting when you uploaded your first video vs the XB41, in which it is also much louder, while on other videos I watched (not only DLX's) they were pretty even. Let's wait and see. He sure messed with the sound of the sony abviously. Because I have the jbl extreme 2 and i just bought the sony xb43 and believe me it sound way better than the jbl and if you know how to adjust the aq in Sony app, you won't listen to the jbl again. Sony wins by far here. This guy is a pure jbl fan. Maybe even he is sponsored. I can just tell by the look on his face or his sound when he talks about Sony.

So which xb is the most improved. Sometimes I think that the xb33 sounds a bit thin like they reduced the power of the speaker. It stays clean sounding just too much DSP that reduces the dynamics.

I have been thinking of returning the XB43 after watching the various youtube videos reviews and playing around with the XB43 for a week, i made up my mind even though the sound quality failed to meet my expectations given the size of the speaker. Just hours ago, a software update was released by Sony. The SOUND QUALITY OF THE XB43 HAS GREATLY IMPROVE AFTER PERFORMING THE UPDATE. I advise you do same and you will see the difference.

Twist in the end - I was looking for a speaker this week and watched lot of video reviews and comparisons. I had short listed JBL Xtreme 2, Sony xb43 and Bose portable home speaker. I spent an hour in a electronic shop standing close to these 3 and compared back to back with no ones interruptions. In my personal opinion Bose was the top and then the Sony and then JBL. All of them were loud enough so loudness didn’t matter. I played around 4 songs in each and I felt the quality of sound from Bose very very evident to me. Good quality music is what makes you listen to them for longer. I also felt Sony had better quality than the JBL. Here all 3 are priced at $399. So I made up my mind to get Sony. I do have JBL flip 3 from 4 years ago. Apart from battery and usb loose connection I didn’t have any issues. I went next day straight to the Bose and spent about 30 mins between Portable home speaker and 500 home speaker. The quality of sound in both were almost equal but the loudness in 500 was next level and I could not keep full volume because it was too loud. So I was confused again. So I dropped JBL from my list and kept sony, and 2 Bose speakers. After comparing for a long time, I finally decided to spend more and bought Bose 500 home speaker for $599 and I can say it’s brilliant and it’s got built in google home and Alexa too which makes song search really easy. The base quality is next level. It’s everything one needs, it is very very loud and very very high quality sound.

In other reviews the Sony doesn’t sound this bad at all like this review states, actually sounds really good. I think this guy is either biased or messed with the EQ. Watch other reviews before you buy based solely on this guys review.

It seems you are jbl fan. If 43 is louder tan 41 and 41 is louder thsn xtreme 2...how can 43 be less than extreme.....Why are you using stamina mode? Why dont able extrabass? Does jbl give you free speakers or something?.....lost a suscriber

in slovakia the xb43 normaly costs around 150€-200€. Is it worth it in this prize tag. Im curently choosing between jbl xtreme 3 that costs 300€ and the xb 43 and the xg500 that costs 330€. So what do you recomend more?

I have both of these speakers, and I've got to say this guys is such a liar, my xb43 out performs xtreme 2 in loudness by quite a bit, and the sound about the same, but xb 43 is louder for sure

Was listening to DLX Willington review and then I thought Sony XB43 sounded much better than JBL Xtreme 2 but in this review it is exactly the opposite, feels that one of these review videos tryes to scam the viewers... Great video! But there is one thing i don't understand, in your video of battle between XB43 and JBL Xtreme 3 the XB43 wins, but against the Xtreme 2, which is cheaper, the XB43 loses... I find it strange 😅

Leaving 43 in xtra bass mode is a mistake, turn up the EQ all the way then the loudness won't leave such a gap at max!

I wish I listened to this review. I read too much sony fans comments, got hyped up, and finally bought the XB43. But then I found out that the sound is very... VERY... muddy, unlike what a lot of people claim to be very clean. The live mode helps a little bit but it makes some other songs sound very very ear piercing.. Also heck, my tiny little JBL flip 4 can go louder than this 3 KG monster lol After re-watching this review again, I think that this review is spot on about XB43. The bass is mediocre at best, the mid and high is simply lackluster. So you end up with something that isn't specialized in anything. But of course this is my own personal opinion, but my two cent is, do not judge based on any review or what other people say. You better listen to the product with your own ear before making that purchase decision.

The battery of the Xb-41 lasts about 4 hours on full blast not 2 like you said and tbh you probably won’t need to use full blast anyways

Jbl xtreme 2 on battery only is about 30 watts and when connected 40 watts so that means sony xb43 is less than 30 watts since he says jbl xtreme 2 sounds louder on just battery.... thats really weird.. the sony xb41 (older model)was louder than jbl xtreme 2 on battery and also when it was connected ..

why not connect up the Xtreme 2 with power & compare XB43 with extra bass set

There’s no way the JBL sounds that much better than the XB43. Either your trying to make Sony look bad, you had the EQ set really off, or your XB43 is faulty. Also the XB43 sounds way better in videos from other prominent reviewers... something seems off here.

This goes for all fans of sony and DLX WILLINGTON. First of all say that I am not a fan of any brand but I am in doubt which of these two speakers to buy. I had planned to buy the sony for its higher volume and for its battery, but the more comparisons of the two I see I can not find in any (not even the DLX WILLINGTON) that the sony has better sound quality than the jbl (do not confuse that one sounds louder than another, with which it sounds better). I think the Extreme series is a clear winner, especially if you can find one for the same price. I like the carrying loops. Bose all has permanent solutions. But with the Extreme, you can clip it to a backpack if you have molly loops.

With the Black Friday sale 2020, these 2 items are the same price. My quick run through: 100% Sony is the better speaker. The only thing this lacks is looks ( adding lights doesn’t make something look better, cool feature though. ) As of JBL it’s more portable and looks better, but I’m every sound factor loses to Sony. Same price. Do you want lights or a strap. That’s all it comes to.

Mr.Gymcaddy I think you need to do this test again, there has to be something you did wrong here. Having listened to both of the speakers i have the opposite experience, the Sony sounds clearer and more round bodied. everybody makes mistakes, but this is just low.

I have and will not change the sony Xb-41 with the music center app, with the eq, I'm not spending anymore money on a bluetooth speaker, This is good enough.

*PAID REVIEW* Xb 43 has 40W RMS and Xtream2 has 20W on battery mode and 40W when plugged in(thats what you said in your other video). Either my ears are weak that I am not able to hear sony's sound louder or you have decreased its volume by A LOT!

If you want to see real potential from Sony Xb Bluetooth speakers find deepest bass n music you can find I have XB41 N I can say deep bass music is a go with XB, I will definetly upgrade to xb43

Sony sounds like a small high end stereo system. It’s the a thumping bass but way louder than any Bluetooth that I’ve ever heard. I know the boom box probably has a better thump but the Sony really does have quality audio. I own xb43 and xb33 paired is a really hifi quality in a portable speaker experience. All this said in relationship to the price being low,

Either your XB43 was defective, or you somehow had it set wrong. Against the JBL, your XB43 sounded freakishlymuddy and weak, which it most definitely is not. I don't know if maybe the bass boost wasn't on, and its treble cut almost made it sound like the older models that didn't feature tweeters. were using the Sony app to give it any custom EQ curve for the test here, or was that flat? Kinda odd, but EVERY other new review of the XB43 has proved the 43 is not only louder, but it's actually alot clearer AND deeper sounding than the JBL Xtreme 2. I've NEVER been a Sony Bluetooth speaker fan, BUT I can't wait to test the these new speakers against the stiff competition in person. I think Sony finally has a winning design, thank goodness there's tweeters and side bass radiators making their frequency response extended noticeably in both treble and bass! AND it charges USBC now, helping make them a bit more future-proof. Maybe look into finding out why your tester sounded so quiet and muddy, it's got to be a reason sir..

Esto va para todos los fans de sony y de DLX WILLINGTON. Antes de nada decir que no soy un fanatico de ninguna marca pero estoy en duda de cual de estos dos altavoces comprar. Tenia pensado comprar el sony por su volumen mas alto y por su bateria, pero cuantas mas comparativas de los dos veo no encuentro en ninguna (ni siquiera en las de DLX WILLINGTON) que el sony tenga mejor calidad de sonido que el jbl (no confundais que uno suene mas alto que otro, con que suene mejor). El problema de esta comparativa de GYMCADDY es que la compresion del audio de este video hace que en el sony no se escuchen esas frecuencias bajas que lo hacen destacar sobre el jbl (aunque si reproduces mp3 y musica electronica tampoco las ivas a notar en la realidad). Y los problemas en las comparativas de DLX WILLINGTON son varios: En la comparativa al aire libre cuando suena el jbl lo hace cuando hay viento haciendo que pierda parte de su sonido porque el sonido se transmite por el aire. En la comparativa dentro de casa a volumen medio se escucha con mas calidad el sonido de jbl que el de sony, y a volumen alto parece que suena mejor el sony porque el sony tiene mas volumen. Si quereis hacer una buena comparacion de calidad de sonido de estos altavoces hacerlo poniendo los dos a los mismos decibelios y no lo hagais por el porcentaje de volumen cuando uno tiene mas volumen que el otro.

Bought both jbl is getting delivered Saturday ill check both of them out I kinda want to keep the sony i like the looks lights etc but I'm not going to lie I took it out to the patio played it and its not loud enough for 150$ I want to keep it cause its real nice especially night time with the lights but like I said Saturday i get the jbl ill test test them to see which one is louder fingers crossed i want to keep sony lol I mean sony has the lights looks cool jbl has a strap ??!!!! Im dissapointed about Sony. I was a big fan on everything, but portable speakers are lost. I still using headphones mdr-xb950N1 and mdr-xb650tb ( not best comfort, good sound ), Colloseum speakers and thats fine. Also using Re equalizer with 6 different types of listening. And there is question. Why people not using good EQ? I have also jbl extreme 2, jbl boombox and partbox 300 and that upgrade is so immersive, that is noticeable to have it without. Just godamm three euros, or dollars and you have much better performance. For example, jbls have much high highs and mediums, it screams, with eq not. This EQ does not downgrade sound quality and don't downscale medium and highs, when you push up low hertz

Your device besides shows the highs that are not in the JBL, clearly sony are having more complete frequency reproduction. The songs you played are more mid focused, of you had played any music covering high as well, i can be sure sony will be sounding better. Sony seems to be less lound in your vedio but i really like sound quality. I have edifer monitors, sony xb30 and ath m50x at home. Sony is very comparable to my m50x more bass and fuller sound.
