I think Sony has been recently killing it with their headphones. Their 1000XM3’s are currently the best ANC headphones on the market and their WH-CH700N are a really good pair of budget friendly headphones packed with a lot of features. But their speakers on the other hand could use some work. Namely, their Audio clarity could be better and their Software and Wireless Party Chain feature could be more stable. So let's see what the new Sony XB501G is all about.

i still prefer the 41... because well. much more portable. stil have decent power and have a long long battery life. orianted speakers are a cool concept...but they audio is heard in a cone shape effect... yes the speaker has a wider zone to be heard... but you wont hear it in stereo...unless you are facing the speaker and not too far from it.

Gymcaddy I have a question to see if your have this issue as well, I got a new Xb41 and when I play it at half volume to 65%, to a 70, 75, 80, 85 hertz sweep it makes a weird sound that scares me. Does this happen to you? Please reply.

In my experience with owning the newer xb32 the sound quality and bass only sound good up to 65% volume. Passed that it seems to disable some of the bass and the quality gets worse.

Hello. Maybe you know solution. I have problem with battery in my sony xb501. When speaker is turned off the battery starting low. For example - at the morning battery has full charged. After 9h battery was arleady about 20% and speaker still turned off all time.

2nd opinion I had tested JBL EXTREME 2/XB41 and for my ears the xb501 is awesome. Very nice eq setting and very good punchy bass and clear highs

Yes I have the xb41 too and the 501 is louder and sound clearer with less distorsion. It is 200$ cad on bestbuy now

Xb60 still beats it but only in volume, about the same sound quality, xb60 has more bass but not by much on stock settings.

I bought the xb501g about a week ago and noticed the other day that one stage battery life was at 60% turned it off and then tried to turn it back on the following morning and it was dead so had to charge it up again! I have read some other comments where some people had the same issue so not too sure if this is a common thing or if it's just a faulty unit??

It’s the same with mine, I just leave mine plugged in and use it as a home speaker, because of the sub and wifi connection google is always running the battery dies.
