@@kenos6939 I switched to a Samsung Z Fold 4 and now the OnePlus Open. But I did use it for a bit a couple of months ago as my Z fold of the time was in repair. (I still keep the Xperia as a spare phone) it seems absolutely fine for day to day tasks and I'm confident I could still use it as a daily driver if I needed to.

hello. i have the phone since 2 days and it is driving me crazy.. the quality of the pictures is awful... Iam coming from xz2 compact and xperia 10 and the pictures are worse from xperia 5 ii. The photos come out very soft and there is no detail in them. Have also tried open camera and the results are slightly better but the focus is terrible.. is my phone faulty I wonder...

@@alexm3154 Hi Alex! Forgive my dummy question, but you _are_ using the Photo Pro app and not the Camera app that's the default in 5II? It's because the Photo Pro turns the 5II into a Sony Alpha camera with all manual settings you'd ever need. If you're using Photo Pro and manual settings, and if your picture isn't good then, maybe you have a faulty phone. But that shouldn't be the case. @@HomesickMac thank you for the reply. Yee, i am using the pro app. I have even factory reseted it today. The problem is especially indoor. Even with the flash on it does not focus on a face. The subject will just turn out blurry... And if i photograph some tiles on the floorz it will not differentiate ome from another. I believe i have a damaged unit.

@@wiolantsungazer7665 i think rather than better i would say different, sony has that good raw manual control and pixel has good auto. and also good autofocus burst shot. I do want a manual control since there are lotsa good tricks out there to overcome hardware limitation

People are so lazy to use a manuel mode on a phone they spent 1000 on lol...why are they so afraid of learning how to shoot lol....this phone also has a feature that takes fast moving object better than any phone...that feature is underrated

Xperia have a clean android, much cheaper than Icrap and lots of settings to play with (battery and quality in time best one in 2020). So the real perspective: IT'S TOP and THE ONLY!

It's great but I feel the lack of some camera refinement is a let down. I like their natural look, but having so little help from things like stabilisation or night mode or even switching lenses is something I don't really like. Which is a pity as the iPhone also does a lot of good things but they are getting a little too bright, sharpened and less natural looking but has good stabilisation, lens switching and other features.

@@RennieAsh I think for most cases Xperia 5 II's camera will do well but as an owner of an old flagships I learned that having GCam helps to keep the weaker camera to perform really well, so I think with GCam Xperia 5 II is an ultimate package (at least to me) 😎

I prefer 21mp but an inch sensor. It's just too large. I hope someday Sony can find a way to squeeze it in a phone.

With 108MP, phone would never be able to have same AF performance. Also, high resolution is bad for 4K videos.

Sony stopped at 12mp because they knew that the pictures you snapped will be mostly used for online media postings and less of professional usage. But a good 12mp photo can make it too! (The Sony A7sIII is only 12 mp ) too big a photo file will take ages to record and transfer and upload. Its the same principle as why they stopped at 4k video instead of 8k video concept because during this era how many house have 8k tv?

108 MP is currently just a gimmick, it only captures details on sunny days, otherwise it's very noisy, which is why I'd always use 12 MP

Some cool differences between these two phones are 120Hz screen and a headphone jack 💪

@@doamono I know, but the main camera with 720p is poor. With the ProCinema there isn't sound ín slowmo. Not a deal breaker at all, true.

tbh the zv1 is going to be more practical due to the flip screen, and likely will have better quality. Maybe can use the phone as a portable device for transferring and viewing the footage, uploading it straight away etc

@@callsigncrusader9877 I don't know about that. Samsung's midrange still is a bummer compared to chinese phones. Many European prefers chinese phones just for that. It's a bang for their bucks. Heck that's why Xiaomi and OnePlus gained notoriety there, because if you want a samsung, you better get a flagship, or they will give you an exynos one and you'll be sorry you even bought one.

I have both Xperia 5 II and Xperia 1. 5 II is much more reliable and fast. Bought Xperia 5 II for my daughter and it's quite amazing. Still happy with my Xperia 1 though. Might upgrade to xperia 1 III when that comes out, assuming they fix some of the issues like finger print scanner (already fixed in mark II), front facing camera (still meh...) and a better auto mode camera in the "normal" camera app. The rest is really good - especially the 4K OLED screen and the 21:9 format. I do actually like the "night mode" capabilities of the camera (24mm) as it maintains the ambience of night and doesn't try to make everything light. So my complaints are really minor and the main annoyance has been the finger print sensor on Mark I which Sony should have done better.

@@skankblocbologna3482 nice information. What about video calling in what's app? It5 blurry in #Xperia1 always. But Google Duo works fantastic. Furthermore, have you tried Netflix HDR movies? I mean they do stop sometimes and do not play smoothly. This issue is only with HDR movies on Netflix. Please share your experiences about these. Thank you.
