Removing headphone Jack to sell more Airpods is not Courage Best Wireless and True Wireless headphone maker keeping the headphone jack on their Smartphones is real Courage.
decision taken by headphone division is independent from decision by smartphone division. This is why Even though Samsung is the biggest producer of AMOLED displays, they sell it to Samsung Galaxy's competitors as well.
@@jay_1 well that's because of brand name and heavy marketing from Apple's side. Plus I think Sony has always been ok with catering more to the professional users like producers etc.
Well technically the Xperia 1 ii is the flagship, & that's if you don't count the maybe hopefully coming soon Xperia Pro... But they all have headphone jacks, because Sony... And I'm loving my Xperia 10 ii. Almost went Samsung, but I'm so glad I didn't.
I personally love the fact that they had just a little bit of the bezel on the bottom and the top part. It gives you a better full screen experience compared to punchholes.
@@tolga1cool Exactly. Too many flagships these days pull non-user-friendly moves and push it as "innovation", and most of their sheep customers just fall for it. Smartphone buyers are too complacent with new flagships these days.
Actually a lot of their phones have gotten good reviews over the years. But they do little to get carrier support and do almost nothing to market or promote their products.
@@charleschaimkohl I agree. With so many great phones in the $500-800 range, not just from lesser-known makes but also Samsung and Apple, Sony needs to price their products more competitively - especially since Sony does not offer carrier subsidies.
They introduced market to NFC, They are the only one providing dedicated camera button, they are the first to introduce 4K display in a phone, even I have used AR apps first time in Sony’s phone. They are always ahead of time
I'm pretty convinced that Xperia smartphones are definitely the underdogs in the industry. It'll be interesting to see them climb back up again :) Edit: just a reminder that its only a damn phone, no need to be disrespectful to people of other opinions 😐
I was Sony fan from times of dummy phones and Sony Ericsson, then I switched because others was ofering more for same money, because all of this with US-China, dont want chinese phone, any chinese brand, if Trump take one more term, all that could escalate and don`t want Sammy or Apple also, only thing keeping me away from going back to Sony is battery capacity.
Yeah his channel is gonna have blacks on almost every modern phone. But it's can actually distinguish his channel from the others and helps watching it minimised while reading the comments since you get a bigger screen.
yeah, bro. he told about this earlier and also he told that he make sure 21:9 will never going to miss anything from his video by getting videos by bit large background. and also If I my memory is correct he has another channel which he capturing video in new aspect ratio.
Fun fact that no one asked for: the Sony Xperia 5 II is most likely the only device that can run 120Hz on Call of Duty: Mobile due to a championship finals inside the game that is happening within a month or two.
@@josefish5193 OLEDs tend to get a burn in if the image stands still long enough. Which is fine, because you'll still get more than 3 years out of it, even when gaming.
I love this phone. Freaking love. Please let Sony keep all these features like headphone jack and SD card expansion by the time I upgrade from my Note 10 plus.
thinking of switching to a Samsung from Xperia since Xperia just left the PH market but it seems like Samsung is messing up with their new releases. non-expandable storage, plastic back, no headphone jack, it just doesn’t make sense to buy something that expensive while i lose features.
Bro their Phones, they need to bring back their Xperia Tablets, create new Smartwatches, new Sony Playstation Vita and new Laptops. Cause they sold their Rights to their Laptops.
@@JJ-vp4jz in my country, there're many things to take care of if you buy something that's not officially sold here. Import tariffs, taxes (which is more than buying an officially sold phone), IMEI unblocking, etc... Those stuff can really shot the price up.
Christyandi K How will it be available if there is barely any demand? Sony’s smartphones aren’t big sellers to justify selling them in every country and end up with unused stock.
As I didn't see anyone doing it I'll do: Shout out to Anthony Francisco Shepperd for the amazing trippy animation you can see here and there, you can find that animation on the song "the music scene - blockhead" too
Literally just got this phone really cheap and wasn't expecting much but it's got some really good tech in it, the Dolby Atmos and enhanced vibration thing with the audio is an underrated feature, the screen is nice and it's really refreshing using this one handed comfortable which I haven't felt for years now with the size of phone screens these years, it's like a next gen iphone 5s kinna feel but with nice extras.
Completely agree. No notch, side finger print scanner, IP certification, 120 HZ display, expandable storage, camera button, headphone jack, and compact. There's nothing else like this in the entire phone market.
Now I know what's replacing my Xperia XZ1. Had this bad boy for 3 years and is still perfect. Sony is just the best in building electronics. Only now can other flagships do what this can after 3 years
Completely agree. No notch, side finger print scanner, IP certification, 120 HZ display, expandable storage, camera button, headphone jack, and compact. There's nothing else like this in the entire phone market.
without sony the cameras in iphones and samsungs(i think huaweis too) wouldnt exist since theyre the ones who make em hence why there camera has the best features .
I guess i found my next upgrade after having my s9 for almost 3 years. The expandable storage is a plus for me and the headphone jack is just brownie points!.
@@amalikCODM Now imagine how it feels like for the rest of the world, for all of us who own the Exynos variant. Even bigger of a difference in performance and battery life.
i just love audio quality of this beast.... tidal trial with this is just cherry on cake... i have xb55ap and boy those sound much much better than iphone XR on xperia
Sony Xperia has a headphone jack but not the annoying camera notch/punch hole, and has a SIM card/expandable storage slot that doesn't need a tool to open. Most other smartphones are the exact opposite.
Punch hole with more screen or a black bar on the top that does nothing not to forget this phone costs 2.5k ? . And is build for narrow democrafig . Thats why sony doesnt sell the build phone with expensive funktions no normal customer cares about.
In all fairness, just like what happened when Xperia 5 (mark 1) launched a few months after Xperia 1 (mark 1) - namely that thr Xperia 1 got the 20fps burst with AF from the Xperia 5 (plus a few other things i believe) Xperia 1 II is bound to get the updates to 4K @120fps and an option to switch to 120hz refresh rate @FHD+ (lower resolution).
I saw yesterday written on the page that on the 7th of this month an unboxing unique of its kind will be released but because all this time surely this unboxing will be the most beautiful of all that is no longer than the channel but the most beautiful of all the unboxing in the world
2019: Sony Xperia 5 2020: Sony Xperia 5 ii 2021: Sony Xperia 5 iii ... 2030: Sony Xperia 5 xii 2040: Sony Xperia 5 xxii 2050: Sony Xperia 5 xxxii ... 2060: Sony Xperia 5
No notch, no curved screens on the side, headphone jack, top of the line CPU, excellent camera, 120Hz Screen, microSD support (as well as dual SIM), teardown isn't terribly difficult (compared to other modern phones at least). This is the perfect phone of this year in my opinion. I purchased it because a phone like this is hard to find these days. My only issue with it is the price, glass back, and the fact that it's a bit late. But I forgive all three.
My Xperia 1 drowned on The Summer in depht of 2.5m. Next Day i luckily found IT on The mud,and yes i am typing right now from my Xperia 1☺️ I am proud of Sony!
2:47 yes thank you! I never understood the trend for sim trays that requires a metal ejecting pin. How much wasted metal there is with every smartphone that encloses one?
No the dont sell phones so the keeped it . The dont have any photo or recorsing advantages there night mod sucks . This phone is another phone build for a realy narrow democrafig of peopl thats why sony doesnt sell.
@@xythiera7255 No that was a CEO statement that the headphone jack returns because it was unacceptable and essential to the brand. Especially since they carry on the legacy of walkman ~More power and fidelity from a headphone jack than typical wireless designs. Plus the pro models need it now onwards as a professional tool and nobody uses anything but analog for professional monitoring.
*Unbox Therapy* - Can we unbox the PlayStation 5 before all the other RU-vid tech channels? *Sony* - Hmmm, lets send you the Xperia 5 first and see how you react to that first.
Just ordered one! Coming in tomorrow, cant wait. You definitly pulled me over the last bridge my friend. This thing just has it al, in a nice tidy package. Quality feel, no screetchy plastics, like all the other minus Apple.
We are in 2020 & I'll still never forget how good it felt to handle the super slim Xperia Z ultra. (6.5mm.) I used (and broke) 3 of them waiting for the next Sony technology along that line. The slim feel of it front & back glass it was just too elegant to explain.
I'm from Denmark and I was gonna get the Galaxy S20 FE, but I can get this phone with the headphones for the same price as the top specced S20 FE. It seems like a no-brainer to get the Sony.
I typically buy phones years after they release since I prefer an older flagship to a current midrange, and honestly I think this is going to be my next phone when I decide to upgrade. The sd slot, headphone jack, "compact" size and lack of camera notch solve 99% of my gripes with current phones.
I'm glad, so glad actually that Sony is growing again, Xperia phones always were amazing, they had my fav design along with the 6/8 iPhone's, Huawei 30 Pro, and some Xiaomi's. I hope they continue to do some amazing phones like these 2 last "mark" models. Maybe in the future, they can launch some cheaper models, like between 250 and 400...
They do have some cheap ones, but they're not that good if we're being honest, you have companies like Xiaomi who make brilliant budget/mid-range phones.
They just need the marketing and they're golden. If it isn't successful then sony has alternative products so they won't go down if their cellphone department goes down.
Cameras on sony I agree are one of the best, lot of people say they aren't but fact is that the pictures are pretty natural in color and the detail is amazing even in the older phones, I have a xz3 atm and a friend has an s20 and I shoot with way more detail and accurate color reproduction than he does on his samsung, but the Samsung ads some sort of fake filter automatically so people think it shoots prettier photos, where it actually shoots useless photos because their very hard to edit afterwards
I really like that Sony just goes their own way, no notch, a 21:9 display, still ip65 (i believe it was 65) and they got the headphone jack back and still rock the front facing speakers, they don't follow the mass and that's why I've been using them for over a decade and will keep using them. Only complaint I always had was that the battery was somewhat on the small side, so im happy to see the are finally using some bigger ones
