Great video! I had to replace the Main flex, you really need to be patient and go real slow, took me almost 2hrs total to get it just perfect, but with a replacement part from Ebay it works now! hurray! thanks for this wonderful help!
To remove the battery, the adhesive is designed to be pulled out using the 2 black tabs on the right hand side. It works the same way as a 3M wall hook adhesive strip.Take the motherboard out, and pull each tab slowly to remove the adhesive strip. I tried to leave the motherboard in the frame, but the adhesive broke when I was pulling it, probably because I was pulling it at an angle.
Very useful, worked just as shown. Please be aware that you need some spare parts when changing the handy-frame (like some adhesives so exchange loudspeaker and microphone mountings).
i have trouble with the gps.. may be it s a software problem due to a bad update or a hardware one.. i ve read that some connectors can be bent so they make a better contact .. but were is the gps ?
My GPS stopped working after I dropped the phone. I'd like to fix it if possible but I could not find any information where the GPS module or the GPS antenna is located. Can you help me on this one ?
You have to look at the sim-card slot, when u remove the frame. When I pulled the frame out, the card and the mount fly throught the room lol. I just finish my "repair". My headphone socket was broken. Thanks for the video btw.
Is it possible to partly remove the digitizer and lcd in order to replace the glue underneath without removing the back plate. The glue on the digitizer went loose on one side so the lcd kinda detached on one side and i need to replace the glue??? Please help me
Can you point the Wifi antenna ? I am having trouble with poor wifi signals. I can try replacing it if I can find out the exact location. Thanks in advance
Wit Rigs: Together with a lot of others, my magnetic charging port fell out (using a Sony Dk48 charger) and Sony refuse to cover it by warranty. Can you please make a guide how to reattach it or replace it, cant find anyone that made one!
How can I replace the mainframe? Mine is a white Z3 Xompact but i dropped it and got the edge broken, and I like the cellphone so much I want to change it... Any idead how could I get a new mainframe of white color?... Thank you, such a great video
Removing the bottom loudspeaker, my speaker didn't pop out like the one shown above, but split in two, leaving the front part with the coil/cone attached to the phone body. Don't think it will ever function again. Another part to buy...
If it's made with hot air gun from a soldering station, it should be 150ºC, they usually have 100ºC minimum power output, but you should try with a hairdryer first to be sure, it's less hot and could work
My Xperia dropped into the water and the screen stopped working. I can still hear noises from receiving messages. I replaced the screen however, it only shines a light "under the screen (the side where the glue is not strong enough).. what can I do?
Hey, I replaced my display and after putting everything together my battery wont charge and my usb port seems to be dead. Need to open it up again. What should i look for? Thank you!
HI I went down the route and tried changing the digitizer not knowing that its bonded pretty well to the LCD. Thus breaking the LCD also! I have in the meantime seen that you can buy the screen already in the housing. The one i saw didn't have the side flaps on it so I assume it must come out of my existing one. Is it easy to do? Also could you do a video of how to remove a cracked touch screen, as you cant use the sucker, as its is so much harder! Thanks
MNR This is the Xperia Z3 Compact LCD screen with digitizer replacement tutorial video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ibb22uofq-c.html. It is very hard to separate the digitizer from LCD and combine them without any damage. So usually we suggest our customers to replace the LCD screen with Digitizer if do DIY repair. The original LCD with digitizer replacement part, www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z3-compact-white. You can follow our video to do that. Be careful and patient.
How do you replace the flex cable stuck on the battery? I need to replace the battery and the replacement battery doesn't come with the square of flex cable you see stuck on the back of the battery?
+Ankur Kapoor the square flec cable you refered to is the NFC antenna,it is sticking on the battery and connecting with motherboard by metal springs,if your old one is just fine then you just need to tear it off and make it stick to the new battery at the same place or you can get a new one at www.witrigs.com/oem-nfc-antenna-for-sony-xperia-z3-compact
Hello. Due to your awesome videos I was able to fix my phone before. Now I have a problem with the brightness setting, it will not dim any more. And when push the on/off button of screen or when it is going into standby the screen doesn't go totally black . I think there is light coming from behind the sony logo under the ear speaker. Only when I turn off the phone totally it goes pitch black. When i do the support test i noticed that the ear sensor and the light sensor isn't working. Is there a part i can replace for this or is there a bigger problem?
Well, brightness setting and the screen not going totally black problem already solved. Auto brightness setting was checked on somehow. Never knew there was an option for that. Still have a the problem with the ear and light sensor. Is this replaceable?
So I did this but at 2:40 he is taking the battery off the wrong way, you're supposed to tear a small black part of the tape, so the tape comes off easily. I did it his way and now my motherboard has a crack in it :-(
It is in one of his assembly videos and if you look in the text under the video there is a link for parts you can order. I was able to use the precut double sided back and front sticker for the z3 compact. Be sure to take away dust and clean off with alcohol where the sticker will be. If you have an phone repair shop with a warehouse close by, you can aslo buy a role of very thin double side tape. Don't use glue because it will be harder to remove... and buy some of the special pry tools. It will make it all easier.
hi, my back camera stopped working for no apparent reason. After a close look you can spot some water drops sticked to the cristal. If i dry all from inside, will back camera work again? if not, where can i buy a replacemente camera?
what is the purpose of this back frame at 0:54,that have silver paths connecting to the main board because i accidentally broke it and broke one of the paths in between the connections
After replaced the new screen, the screen phone is totally black. The phone turn on, but has no image. I tried put the oldest screen to test and the same thing happened. Anyone can help me?
Hi I have accidentally broken loudspeaker mesh, it just went inside and now sound from this speaker is bad. Pressure sensor says it's still hermetic, but I'm not sure if the phone is still fully waterproof. So my question is: Can someone tell me what I have to do to repair it? Do I need only this new mesh(and ofc new backplate with glue)? Or more parts? And Do I have to remove also screen to replace this mesh or can I change it from inside, just taking out the mainboard, etc.? Thanks in advance
+on the road The phone can only be waterproof again when it is replaced by the professional with original replacement parts. It is hard to make sure its water resistance if it is just a DIY repair work.
How about splitting LCD screen from just the glass ditizer on top of it? I've got this glass cracked (touch inputs fail), but the screen functions OK below it. There are some ditizers available for sale and they're way cheaper that LCD+ditizer - is it possible to separate them? Well it's already quite a demanding procedure, just to get to this screen.
Peteruspl It is possible to separate them. But it is hard for professional repairer to separate and combine them successfully, let alone the amateur. So we sugggest you to replace the whole part.
Hi can anyone help when I was taking the motherboard out my screwdriver slipped and knocked off a metal clip like thing that's now off the motherboard could anyone help to see if this is necessary Thanks :)
We have to be very carefully when dissasembly the phone, because these phones are not that easy to pry and dissasembly as the video show, because this phone was opened before, I was watching this video to know wich position the loud speaker was then in this video i saw 2 positions, in minute 1:06 you see the loud speaker in one position and after the camera change you see it in other position, the second position is the correct not the first. So the second take is really the first take and viceversa, but when They edited the video they mixed it...
I hate that the phone jack is held on so flimsily tho... That's why mine stopped working properly. And to replace it you have to take the whole damn thing apart... Also, the step on 1:35 seems really fucking risky, tried it but didn't go on with it, seems like it can frigging crack your damn motherboard, you should put up a warning or something
Wit Rigs Hi I have a problem with my Sony Expedia Z3 compact headphone socket. Q1. What is holding the back cover of the phone the chassis and would I be needing any adhesive to refit the back cover . Q2. Do you have a UK supplier or can I purchase via eBay UK or Amazon UK ? Thanks
So mine got water in it... It was submerged in about 30cm for less than 5 minutes in a 30 deg. celsius spring water pool. I made extra sure i sealed all the flaps before submerging, but upon taking it out of the water there was a memory card error message. I switched the phone off right away and after drying it with a towel opened the memory card/usb flap. It was full of water. I sucked whatever i could out of it, then placed the phone on the car heating vents to dry it. 40 minutes later the phone was at 43 deg. Celsius (according to it's temp sensor) i switched it on. The device functioned fine, however since than the 3 day battery life has come to 1 day at the most, with almost no usage. Fuck Sony and their false advertising!
mine also got water in but my card slots were dry and the front and back camera had water in there instead, screen comes and goes but works fine when it does and the power button now doesn't work but is now bound to the volume up button, this thing mine by my new Nokia ;-)
