THANK YOU! I was about ready to return my ZV-1. I had previously looked up a few videos on camera settings and the color left a lot to be desired. I decided to look for a few more videos and saw yours. You actually talked through what the settings are and why you are changing them (versus others that just said "change this to this" without the why). I was able to use what you suggested and adapt based on the information you gave to find the best settings for us!

If you have a ZV-1, this is by far the best video for getting started. The best (and I've watched a LOT).

It's such an awesome camera, the animal eye tracking and continuous auto focus for video and stills is by far superior to other cams, sold my fujifilms xt3 and xt30 kept the xt1 for my manual lenses, and if it wasn't for the noise levels on this sensor and limited zoom it would be the only 1 camera you need

You can have your photography default on the M Mode or whichever rather than taking up a MR Preset. That would allow 3 to be normal frame rate 1080p for example

That ND Filter shortcut was a great idea!

I'm using this camera for my channel. One thing to keep in mind after making these changes proposed in this video for video mode is you're now filming in HDR. You've got to change some settings in Final Cut Pro to be able to process this right. Also, these changes made my shot very yellow. Still playing around with this - I don't know much about these camera settings.

For strictly photography how good is this camera? With this camera in Aperture priority, how would you change the shutter? And one more thing, how do you get that beautiful blur in the background?

Thank you. Subscribed. I've had the ZV-1 since it came out with Vlogging handle. I like the entire set up except for my line of work stabilization has been more of the struggle. I have invested in a Zhiyun Crane V2 gimbal. It's OK but I do like DJI gimbal's I have had with my phones better and going to maybe add the DJI Ronin SC yet. I also tried to download the Sony app for stabilization and cannot get my (newer this year) Surface Notebook 2 to accept the Sony Catalyst software to try... Anyway I'm just "a Carpet Cleaner with a RU-vid Channel" and I'm learning a lot this year having purchased the ZV-1 which is one of my first cameras in a long time. I have bought a bunch of gear to try and keep improving, and I have to say most important to me, I'm having fun! So if you (or anyone) have any info on best stabilization, would appreciate it. I also shoot in 4k and just added a wider lens kit to the camera. Hope to get out in the field and shoot with that soon. I'm a bit laid up since having full knee replacement a month ago (had fun wearing the knees out racing snowmobiles and jet skis in my day by the way 😁🏁) Thank you for this video. Now i got it! 👍 But i have a question now! Is it possible to make cinematic movies with ZV-1? I mean a movie like in cinema style with black border on top and bottom of screen? Hi. Thank you for this. I try to apply this settings and we will see!. Anyhow I just have some concerns like the file format. Fo example, you choosed the 120p but in my settings its only 100p other than that I have no choice.

Even for indoor you recommend setting the WB to daylight? It gives me an orange look, how do I correct in PPro if there’s no gray or white in the shot? Just play with the color temp?

The tutorials are super helpful so thanks. But often with all the one's I've seen, the maker is too familiar with the subtle presses and doesn't take into account that we can't quite see what actions they are taking. I couldn't follow the set up of the custom buttons at all as it wasn't clear how you are getting to your choices.

Great video! Is there a way to lock the White Balance on the Sony ZV-1. I’m a trainer, and while I’m moving in my studio, the balance continues to adjust. What can I do using the Sony ZV-1?

Amazing tutorial Sydney - as always. I picked up the Sony ZV1 in the UK, by default the system is set to PAL. Having set the camera to NTSC to get more video frame options, I'm getting some flickering on lamp lighting. Obviously this us being on different electrical current to the USA, do you have any tips to eliminate this 'effect'? Thanks!

Hi, what do you think is the best setting for someone that makes build and how to videos on RU-vid are? I record with a lot of hand and body movement and I want the shots to look clear without the camera going crazing on trying to focus in and out on my movements. When the camera does stuff like that, I get a some recordings of focus in and out blurs. What is your suggestion for a more clear shot with body and hand movement? Thank you.

Hi Sydney , how are you doing. I use Sony ZV-1, I just faced an issue while using at 4k 24fps the face/eye autofocus isn't working. Is it only with my camera or is it problem with ZV-1. Earlier, if I remember it correctly it used to work fine. Please advise some solutions.

Great video and very informative. Couple of questions. When I want to use any of the three set ups how do I access them. Secondly when I changed the slow motion setting you suggested 120/100, mine only goes to 100/100. Any reason why. ( also in the other setting I have 25/100 not 24/100 ) Sorry total beginner.

Hey with these video settings, it’s seems like you’ll primarily over exposed when you go outside. How would you account for that and still get great footage at 60p, just up the shutter?

I am sure the videos are there when I played back in the camera. What setting did I not do correctly? Thanks in advance.

Hi, your set up tutorial was very helpful. Just got my zv1 but when i changed the settings i found out that i couldn’t take a photo using any buttons. It always prompted me to a screen saying ‘start movie shooting by pressing MOVIE. Can somebody pls help me with the troubleshooting. Thank u

Would this be a good camera for shooting the eclipse?

Does it have a setting to turn off the zoom sound when you zoom in something? You can always hear the sound zooming during playback of the video.
