Sony should pay you a lot of money for this. I was totally sold not even 30% into the video. I was trying to make a decision between SIII and FX3. I am definitely going for zve1 now instead. Absolutely awesome video. As a beginner learning videographer I see it as a composition and editing reference material too. Thank you so much for the effort putting this together.

My ZV-E1 overheats so bad it is unusable. People need to know this. Great images, great colour, amazing focus tracking, fab IBIS, but unusable overheating. I had to tell director to wait five minutes with actors on set for it to cool down BEFORE THE FIRST TAKE OF THE DAY!!! Managed to get the shoot done by removing the external HTMI monitor and switching off the camera after every take. But the director wants to see the scene through the monitor and now cannot do that. Next day a second test: some food prep like a vlog shooter would do. 50fps setting for nice slo mo. And it overheats after 20 CLIPS!!! Not 20 mins. 20 clips. Handheld no monitor switched on from cold and used for 6 minutes only for the 20 clips. People need to know this.
I'm only four minutes into the video, but man, I can already tell this is special. The music choice when doing the intro was so perfect. The mood it creates is amazing. I promise I am not saying this just to say it, and I know almost everyone will think this comment is stupid/dumb/ridiculous (take your pick), but this is the only youtube channel that causes me to actually tear up while I'm watching it. The amazing camera shots and music just make that happen to me, similar to what happens when I'm listening to opera in person or hearing the Star Spangled Banner being sung at the beginning of a ball game. There's something special about a creator who can cause that effect in a video about a tech product. Anyway, this is a long-winded way of saying thank you, Faruk, for being on RU-vid. With your talent you can have almost any media or marketing job; i am nearly certain of that. But you've chosen to be here, giving us this free content. It's really awesome man. Sony really nailed it with this camera, it's unbelievable for the price, packed of features, same sensor of A7sIII 4k 120, Ai capabilities, amazing image stabilisatin...it would be perfect companion for someone that has A7iv and wants something serious for video/vlogging. If someone doesn't have an A7sIII and it s deciding...I'd buy this over the A7sIII, it's compact, does pretty much same things, yes for sure doesn't have heath dissipation as the A7sIII that it would be more suitable for certain types of professional work, but if you're content creator, this one is a no brainer! Sony demonstrates again it is the one to beat

lol, half price... sony cameras used to cost around $1700 NEW, they raise the price every year until people stop buying them, then they release a camera at several hundred dollars above what it SHOULD cost and call it a bargain...
Finally which is better for photos and how much better? Sony A7iv or EV1? I am thinking to buy a7iv or EV1. Having in mind how satisfied i am with Sony ZV-1 with an inch sensor i am searching for something easy to shoot at auto mode and that's it. It is said that EV-1 has 12MP against 33 but i do not know how much better is a7iv for photos. If the difference is negligible then the winner is Sony ZV-E1.
After seeing the title - half price- I am not watching this any further. This is a lie. 30mins 60p in room temperature before it overheats. Comparing to s3 and fx3 which I assume you dare to compare it is very poor. How are the all nice features useful to me if my camera switches off. Total BS

Hi Faruk! Did you test if the overheating issue can be bypassed by using a dummy battery with external power (like the Anton Bauer Titon Base for example)?
If Sony made an electronic viewfinder to fit in the hot shoe, I'd buy it hands down. As you know, the LCD screen is useless for critical focus, framing and exposure in bright sunny days! Why Sony doesn't offer this expensive accessory for the FX3/30 and this new E1 is unbelievable.
They could if they wanted to. The older e-mount cameras from the nex line had the tilting o led viewfinder as an accessory for 300+ dollars, worked via the hotshoe. There was also one made for the rx1 later on. However these days there are clear segregation between product lines and i dont think we will see an accessory as such anytime soon.

Hey. Nice to have such a detailed review with a good shot of ZV-E1 itself and shots made by ZV-E1. One question, your videos look very clear and sharp. How do you reach that sharpness? Is it straite from the camera or you did do some tweaks?

love it how shooting at 50mm gives you (the author) widie nice shoulders and face proportions realistic, whereas on 20mm your face (and mine) looks peanut-shaped and shouldrs are abysmall
Wouldn’t say half price because most of the full frame are on 2000 dollars. For example the sony alpha a7 Iv is 2400. So the this only a couple hundred less.
It is a very good act to dedicate your work to your dear father. I enjoyed listening your talk and watching your experiments with this camera. It seems to me this camera mainly is good for filmmaker as it suggested in it's description. I am a photographer and barely use filming which I do occasionally done with my mobile phone. I hope sony makes new small camera for the sake of capturing moments. I am going to follow you. Thanks

@@omegamanGXEBackground Defocus mode he showed off, basically changes a few settings to make the background blurry - rather than rely on the user to dial the settings in themselves to naturally achieve the blurry background effect. People that are use to shooting video and photo are used to manually adjusting these on the fly. In fact depend on what you’re shooting, these settings might be adjusted multiple times throughout a shoot. So experienced users might find it silly to include a single button that tries to change settings for you to just achieve one specific thing. That’s how I understood it anyway.
Not sure if you saw his overheating test but 24p lasted 2 hours while 60p lasted 30 minutes. So if he doesn’t get back to you and you didn’t catch that section, keep this in mind.
