I was starting to think "Why get an FX3?" until I heard about the record time and other short comings. Still, it could be a 3rd camera or a gimbal camera on professional shoots. Well played Sony.
Brian Henderson's comment is spot-on. If you do upgrade in the future to another Sony Alpha camera, the FX-3 or even the FX-6, this would be an excellent "B" cam to put on a gimbal or in tight spots. By itself, it seems like a good camera for Vloggers. Interchangeable lenses are key to me. I see you had the Sony 16-35 zoom lens on the one you were testing...an excellent lens even if only f/4, especially for Vloggers. The price actually seems pretty good too considering all you do get with this. Could you add the Sony XLR-K3M audio adapter kit to this to get XLR audio inputs and a good shotgun mic on top? That adds weight and makes it a little top heavy but in certain circumstances that could be well worth it (even though the XLR-K3M is stupid expensive). At least it would also work with the a7s III if you upgraded in the future. I'm just very impressed with Sony these days, They are seriously addressing the needs or semi-pro and pro users. The a7S III and a7R III are what I use for video production at our agency. Nice review. Thanks.
Exactly my use. A stage Rt cam on a gimble, I shoot small music performances with 3 cams to a recording/stream. $25k of Emount and this could easily replace my A7R4 for walking video. LIGHTER!
Every time it shows footage from the "Dynamic Active Stabilization" mode it looks... not great. Lots of jitters and artificial movements. Is this just because of the footage that was shot or is this a bug that Sony still needs to iron out?
I will wait for 4K 120fps to be available on zv-e1 before I buy it. Sony has not been updating firmware on their flagship camera. All talks but no update. Let’s see when firmware update on 4K 120fps will be available.
I think it's really hard to choose from this new camera with tons of features or get a used A 7 iii, or A6600 . Let's see how they price it up. It's a good compromised product though.
I didn’t notice a recording light in front of the camera which the Nikon Z30 has. You didn’t mention if you can power the battery on the side without taking the battery out. The sound of your voice didn’t sound as good as when you were in the studio. So its mic I would guess is just okay. Were you using that Sony in the studio doing this video? Is it water resistant?
I notice a lot of video stutter whenever you're moving side to side. This indicates a frame rate and shutter speed setting issue. Improperly set frame rates and shutter speed often results in a staccato effect that is hard to ignore. Does this camera give good shutter speed and frame rate control? Or, is it just fully automatic? Also, and not to put too fine a point on this... not everyone can afford the "$2300.00 price point for just the camera body. It's anywhere from "$2600.00 and up" for things like necessary addon items that are NOT accessories, they are necessities. Things like lenses for example. Buying just the body is expensive enough. And if you buy the items separately the price can soar through the roof and out into orbit. Lens setups are NOT cheap. The color on the camera is Ok... it's a bit over-saturated but the colors are almost true and well balanced. But I just can't get past that price point for the body only. I don't have a hell of a lot of money, so won't be considering this camera now, nor in the foreseeable future. I do videography, so keep my photography tools centered on camcorders. I use my smartphone a Samsung Galaxy S-22 Ultra and my Sony 4K handicam for most of my work. My Sony is my primary & "number 1 camera and my smartphone is Camera #2." I've never done "Vlogging," so it's not even in my photography vocabulary. Your presentation is Ok... A bet egocentric and self centered, but is a good presentation. Thank you for NOT using those cheezy, easy & sleazy intros that everyone and his sister thinks is so cool... you know the ones "Hey Guys, what's up...? or, Hey everybody, what's going on...? or Hi Guys...z-up?" and every single variation and connotation of those cheap and lazy intros that so many people use, including a lot of so-called "professionals." If they're so professional, they why are they being so cheap with video introductions. You did NOT do that and I appreciate it far more than you could possibly know. Your video was well scripted, planned and executed. And most important of all, you came across as someone very knowledgeable about the product you were demoing and your presentation was good. Not great, but still very good nonetheless. I stopped watching any and all videos that start off with cheap and sleazy intros regardless of how valuable the info might be. I lost all patience with cheap, lazy, easy and sleazy intros and can't stand videographers that use them. Thank you for your informative video. If I could afford this unit I'd give it a try. I can't, so won't. Peace to you and please, be well and be safe.
Love it, obviously mostly for dat A7S3 sensor; but, the size/weight, mic, ibis and decent price (esp for the sensor) is great too. Only thing I really hate is the "Background Defocus Button" and the "Zoom Lever." If those were replaced with a regular Custom button and a regular Scroll Wheel (for things like SS, Ap, iso, etc.), it would be da sht! Needs more scroll wheels and C buttons, imo. There isn't even that many "electronic zoom lenses" available anyways... and the ones that are available, are usually super shyte IQ (which completely contradicts buying/wanting a nice A7S3 sensor in the first place). No one buys/wants cheapy, poor-IQ, electronic zoom lenses. People that lust for A7S3 sensors also generally want high IQ lenses, maybe close MFD and/or compact (and/or, big and fast Ap primes and/or tele lenses). TLDR: "Background Defocus Button" and the "Zoom Lever" contradicts the lusting for (or even knowledge of) an A7S3 sensor and its' capabilities/usage.
Hello I happy long day weddings fillms in London For video only do think I Shiism purchase 3 x Sony A7 IV Or 3 x Sony Z1 E1? Does the Z1 E1 have recoding limit , how many minutes and will it heat up and shutdown ? Thank you

@@bremz11 as I vlogger I haven’t had the necessity to shoot for more than 2mins long in between takes. On the other hand, I’ve got the FX3 and I had never needed to use it’s second slot for gigs 🤙🏾
