Thank you for this video. I have been using Soolantra for a little over a year and it has changed my life. I went to two different doctors and two Dermatologists over a two year period before I was diagnosed with the mites you discussed. For two years I barely left the house my symptoms were so bad. My face was covered with pustules at times so bad I was almost unrecognizable. Within 48 hours of using Soolantra my skin was markedly improved and within a week all symptoms were gone. I was able to have laser surgery to minimize the broken capillaries. It is so nice having my face back.

Used Soolantra for pistular and pustular facial rosacea a few years ago ( before this insightful video) with phenomenal success! I got results after 2 weeks, then a slight decline, but then continuous improvement. I stopped using it after 12 weeks as all symptoms had gone and even the redness much better. I hadn’t realised I ought to have maintained use of the cream even though I was no longer symptomatic. Consequently, due to stress and being peri-menopausal, I think it’s returned and is also around my eyes, on the eyelids too, so have recommenced usage of the cream all over my face, eyelids included. Thank you so much for talking about this amazing cream! 🙏🏼

Dr Sam Bunting I’m 50 with Rosacea with small pustules and papular bumps. I had a horrible break out for months using Soolantra with metronidazole . I had a wedding to go to and my face looked like I was going through puberty. I called my dermatologist about it and she prescribed me a very expensive antibiotic pill and the bumps immediately disappeared. I now use generic Finacea and it has been a game changer. Was the breakout caused by the bacteria released caused by the death of demadex?

Thank you so much for your videos Dr Dray! I've been recently diagnosed with papulopustular rosacea. It's weird I have had dry, sensitive skin for 4 years but when I moved back to Portugal, from 2 years in the UK, I started to get bumps immediately. It seemed I was allergic to my own country! It has been quite a battle...my dermatologist didn't point me in the direction of caution with ingredients, and azelaic acid and niacinamide. I am learning that with you thank god! She did told me to apply Sesderma C-vit fluid "to help with sensitivity and dehydration" and I'm not very sure on how safe that product is for my skin... Can I ask you something? How can I deal with the eye symptoms ?! Rosacea really affects my eyes, if I cry my whole eyes will get swollen to the point of me not being able to open them. Are there any info specific for ocular rosacea? Thank you, I really wish you the best in life!

I was actually diagnosed with Rosecea from my optimologist. I have an eye condition called bleperitis ( I know I spelled that wrong) it's akin to Rosecea, it plugs up the oil glands around the waterline and causes dry sensitive burning eyes. I had gotten a, not sure what to call it, breakout of Rosecea the morning of my eye visit. I had taken a barefaced picture that morning for going to a doctor later. The eye doctor said something like this eye condition is related to your Rosecea, assuming I knew I had Rosecea. I showed him the pictures I took of my bare face and he said without a doubt I have it. I went to a Dermatologist bare faced broken out with a migraine (vulnerable and in pain) and this plasic ken doll doctor sits across the room at least 10 feet away and my spots are little, painless bumps and on my cheecks and he goes on to tell me I have huge painful ones on my jawline (I don't). I tried to tell him he wasn't listening and repeated my concerns again. He was too busy giving eyes at the pretty student that was observing him for the day, rather than do his job. He belittled, disrespected and treated like the dirt on his shoes. I know this isn't all doctors and I wish I had gotten someone like Dr, Dray. Now I don't have a diagnosis from a Dermatologist because he wouldn't look at my face, he was probably distracted looking at his reflection off of shiny surfaces. I looked up over the counter stuff, I've been using Prosecea and my oral Doxy from my eye doctor, Neutrogena alcohol free toner, Cetaphil and Aztec clay mask.
@DrDrayzday

@AnonymousOregonian
@AnonymousOregonian 6 лет назад
@@skincarelover9568 You are right on no cure and the warm compresses. There are a couple other things that I find helpful to manage it; my eye doctor prescribed doxycycling daily, optometrist orders 1000mg fish oil 1-2X daily, applying moisturizing eye drops through the day (I like Systane Balance), a gel eye drop nightly, hydrating eye cream (I know Dr. Dray says regular moisturizer works just as good but my sensitive eyes won't allow it) and if you wear eye makeup no waterline makeup and a through double cleanse to not leave any residue on the eyes.

I’m 49 with Rosacea and started getting many little papules within the last year. I had only issues with broken capillaries in the past. My dermatologist prescribed Soolantra. My skin got horrendous, I felt like I was 15 again. I used is for over 3 months and it kept getting worse and I was using Vanicream.. I read up on it thoroughly and a reaction could be due to the bacteria that was being released when the mites died. I started an antibiotic which helped but it was pricey. I was frustrated so I stopped the Soolantra paired with the Metrogel . I changed my regimen fromVanicream to Drunk Elephant and my skin has changed a 180! I still get a tiny blemish here and there but nothing like my skin was before I started using the prescription topical creams and gels and during the Soolantra. That was a month ago. My question is since I only get a tiny blemish every so often could it be that I didn’t have a mite issue and it was my skincare and maybe my skin just changed or is just part of my Rosacea? I’m premenopausal so maybe that was the culprit instead of ramped mites. I have watched your videos on Rosacea, sensitivity, just about all of them. What are your thoughts?

My husband has what I would consider a little bit more than a milder form of Rosacea. He has been applying Prosacea Homeopathic Topical Gel for a little over a month. It seems to be working pretty well for him as other options were a little pricey for us at the moment. He uses it every other day because it sometimes feels "tight" and what I think he means is it can kind of dry him out. It seems like he has break outs a lot when he is under a copious amount of stress and anxiety from work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on the topic, it helped me better understand a little bit about what he is going through. Dr. Dray. I really need to thank you. You helped me clear up what I suspect was eczema on my cheeks and forehead that had persisted for two years. I was so scared that it would eventually take over my whole face. I was a sucker for pricey green, natural beauty products, which probably led my skin to that state, yet I kept slathering them on, wondering what I was doing wrong. Then one of your videos popped up, and after only 3 days of following your advice, the inflammation is gone. You've changed my whole perspective. My skin has never felt better. Thank you so much for selflessly putting out such solid information that actually helps people. You are AWESOME. P.S. I love the Ceramedx cleanser! I'm copying your whole routine, but with cruelty free products you recommend. :)

Hi I think you tried to follow Dr Dray routine at one point from what I can read. But she does not have dry skin so what works for her as a moisturiser probably won't work for you. As written before try a heavier moisturiser on top then. Try the moisturisng cream in a jar from Cerave which is heavier. Dr Dray talked about it as well. If not enough just mix a little bit of shea butter with that cream. Shea Butter is used in many African countries for this purpose and it works wonders! Cerave also have the healing ointment in the jar which is for super dry cracked skin. Just choose something adapted to how YOUR skin feels. Hope it helps

It was in a combination with a cortison cream (in the evening and Soolantra in the morning for a week). Not sure whether it is really used like this but it really helped. Not that long ago, within the past couple of years - I was going thru an extremely rough time with my face and scalp. I had been diagnosed with rosacea previously. Suddenly I had started breaking out horribly in my eyebrows, my scalp, and on my cheeks (lots of hair follicle areas). I saw a dermatologist that poopoo'd my dilemma. It itched badly and drove me insane. I thought I could feel things crawling on my skin. It got so bad I started digging at my spots just to get some relief, and then was diagnosed with dermatillomania (sp?), and then developed alopecia areata - whether it was tied together, I do not know. I still could not get relief from a dermatologist, and my gp would only prescribe anti anxiety meds - which I truly did not believe was the issue. I was left to my own devices. I stumbled upon the demodex mite, and thought that may be the cause, but the dermatologist still laughed. I did a lot of web searching and finally settled upon dog shampoo. I bought it, crossed my fingers I wouldn't poison myself, and lathered my face and scalp. After a few uses, I finally found relief. After clearing, I used it as a maintenance item, and now only use it if I feel that creepy crawly feeling strike - which had only occurred on my scalp since then, and hasn't occurred since for over eight months now. Needless to say, I haven't been back to that worthless derm, and hope others in need of help can actually find a good doctor that cares (like Dr Dray). What I used didn't have ivermectin in it, and I didn't (don't) have a dog or cat, didn't roll around outdoors, etc... I have telangiectasia (the small surfaced capillaries on the apples of my cheeks), and don't know if I honestly have rosacea or not. Here is the Amazon link to the shampoo I used. smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0037Z6VK8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hi Dr. Dray! I actually have a *question about the application of Soolantra.* Currently my skincare routine goes as follows: soolantra, copper peptide serum, hyaluronic acid, moisturizer. It’s working really well for me but my skin does feel slightly more parched than it used to...maybe it’s age 😅. I’ve been using these products for almost two years now and though I’ve noticed a HUGE improvement with my rosacea every time I apply it I’m always tempted to try putting my serums first followed by my Soolantra and then my moisturizer. *I’ve always heard you’re supposed to apply skincare from thinnest formula to thickest however does this still apply when using topical treatments like Soolantra?* Thanks for your help! 🙏☺️🙏

Thanks for talking about rosacea on your channel. I’ve been having a hard time trying to find a doctor to even see me for it. The dermatology office actually sent me to an esthetician instead, for my facial redness and told me it was from my cells not turning over enough; then prescribed me exfoliating products. I looked like a beet and felt like I was on fire, so it was 100s of dollars down the drain... again. Arizona is a weird place for doctors though. I’m hoping to find a dermatologist in Sweden, when I move in December. I don’t feel like the offices in my state take this condition very seriously.

I am sorry to hear this happened. There was a recent study that looked at the cost of rosacea on patients and showed that patients spend $100s monthly on many misleadling products and "spa treatments" for rosacea. They are heavily victimized by the cosmetic marketing in combination with poor access to see an actual dermatologist.

Dr. Dray - I just LOVE your videos and really like the fact that you are thorough and scientific in your informational video blogs !!! I had oily, sensitive skin for years......now that I am a bit older, I have mild-moderate rosacea with the corresponding "white head" pustules and red-pimple like lesions. I had been a skin care "junkie" for years....trying all kinds of "facials" and have spent a fortune on useless (and probably harmful - certainly not helpful) "spa line" products. I am in healthcare myself, so I wanted to approach my skin in a more scientific manner, so I went to a dermatologist and am using Soolantra now. My question: I was previously prescribed Finacea Foam (azelaic acid 15%) - - can one be used once a day and the other Rx used once per day ((morning = azelaic acid. night= Soolantra) ? I would appreciate your feedback on whether these two prescriptions can be used alternately. I would love to be your patient, too !! Last question: what is your opinion on "facials" having any benefit for my skin type (I never had much luck.....and always looked far worse afterwards = very expensive, too). Keep up the great video work and I can't wait to hear your comments on the above......:)
