Brando got his comeuppance filming Teahouse of the August Moon. He was such a diva that he tossed his final really great line instead of acting it as it should be acted. The director told one of the girls in the entourage that when they started their entry, she should pinch his behind to shake Brando up for the line so he'd show some feeling. That barely worked, so they shot the scene again, but this time the director told the young actress to squeeze his privates. That did the trick. One gets tired of these guys who think they owe no one else and make life ugly for others. He was a real narcissist.

I always thought she was only with Carlos Ponti. In spite of their age difference she deeply loved him and said in an Italian interview he was everything to her.

Sophia gave an interview where she said she was in a quandry trying to decide between Cary and Ponti. She truly gave the choice some serious thought.

I read that book many, many years ago regarding the proposal. However, more recently Sophia denied it ever happened. Could have been put in by ghost writer for more interest. Sophia is one of the most beautiful actresses in my lifetime. And talented.

From what I have read about Sophia Loren over the years, Carlo Ponti, her husband, was the love of her life. Her on-screen dalliances were of little or no consequence including what may have transpired between Cary Grant and Sophia. It may have been just giving into the moment and blanking it out once she was back with hubby. Don't read too much into these "on-location romances", if I were you.

Peter Sellers was a terrible womanizer. Both men had severe mental health issues and have had a history of being obssessed with their wives, girlfriends and lovers long before and after Sophia entered their lives.

This was never a secret. Frank Sinatra and the entire cast of the Pride and the Passion knew with Frank, who himself had a crush on Sophia, fleeing back to the U.S.A. after being spurned and getting into a massive disagreement!!… with Grant. That is not Frank that Cary carries in the final scene. ( though from what I heard Cary probably wished it was )…🥰👵🇦🇺🇺🇸

Boy she talk a great deal of spectacular beauty, authentic talent and fame and squandered it away on more mediocre to bad Hollywood films than any actor I can think of.

If Grant and Loren had married, the union wouldn't have lasted very long and would have been traumatic to both of them. Grant was known to be very emotionally & physically abusive to his previous female partners having a strong misogynistic streak in him, contrary to his romantic on-screen image. He also had steady associations and relationships with gay actors while he was married and single. Sophia would never have tolerated this type of arrangement. You would never know either if it was another publicity ploy to cover up his homosexuality, the type of which was a common strategy employed by the studios to fool the public. It is better that they remained friends.
