This one tore me up man. My friends are all into the indie shit and Sophie has been a mainstay since 2015 for us (with the waterslide singles). I even took my ex to go see her perform with Charlie XCX in Austin for SXSW for a free show. Just a goddess, and by far the best live show I've seen at SXSW. Hurts my heart and, I feel comfortable saying this, my friends hearts having her gone. Only 34 with so much talent to share. Life sucks sometimes y'all.

You know when you're just listening to new music, some are fine, some are bland or bad... and then suddenly something clicks and you your mind turns off everything else, and you can only listen to this song you've never heard before? This was one of those. I was surprised, and curious, and kind of happy and focused, trying to decipher what I was hearing for the first time. What a masterpiece. I listened to many other songs from SOPHIE after this, unfortunately most of them are not my style, but it doesn't matter, this song alone is just timeless. And then I read about the sudden death, oh the chills. Rest in peace, thanks for this song.

So like a year and a half ago, my bf and i went to Day for Night and saw Sophie live and it was such a special moment for us because this song right here is like 'our song' :) And Sophie was there to make me feel happy and optimistic through a lot of hard times between then and still on to this day. My boyfriend and I listen to this song every now and then and it gives us such a warm fuzzy feeling every freaking time. I was just about to come out to my family as trans....and her music guided me through this emotionally intense period of my life...and then after i came out she released It's Okay To Cry and like...i freaking died. She's definitely a living inspiration for me.
