Hi Sophie! First, welcome back from vaca! I hope you had a great time. I made my first stained glass panel by 100% following your tutorials. I am renovating a 1923 house in Los Angeles and wanted to add a leaded stained-glass panel to a new front door that will go with the other stained glass in my living room. The original door would have had one, but the door was replaced sometime in the 60s and is no longer. I don’t have my new door yet, but I was so excited watching your videos and learn so much that I could not wait to get started! I took an existing interior door, took out the glass panels and put my first leaded glass panel. Thank you, Sophie! I learned so much from doing this first panel. I feel like we did this together and would love to share some of my pictures with you. If you like please let me know how to send them to you. Barbara

Wow, Barbara, that sounds awesome. I'd be so pleased to see what you've achieved. And it's great to hear that people can actually make windows by following my videos! So please email your pics to sophiesstudio101@gmail.com

Hi Sophie, did you end up making an installation video of the window? I'm designing my first window at the moment. I'm assuming I have to work out how deep the recess is to add it onto the size of my pattern. Should the came around the outside be as deep as the recess?

There's lots in my book about this topic. For the best result you should see a bit of the outside lead framing the panel - so about 8mm in the rebate and 4mm showing,

Can I ask what was the wood you used for the temporary fill of the gap, what thickness do you suggest?
@SophiesStainedGlass

Usually 4mm ply or mdf

I don’t mean. To be crass but how do you charge or like this that was SO LABOR intensive??

Quoting is always tricky. I have a day rate. I work out how long the job will take then add on materials.

Show where you are chizeling?. Your camera isn't angled properly

I'm so sorry. There are other films which you might find show the position of the chisel better. Try this one. I had a camera person with me so I could get better angles.
