I loved this video! I'm so glad I found it since I had no idea this channel even existed! I'm a huge Team Foster-Keefe fan, and I figured I'd share why! Here it is: when Sophie met Fitz, the first reason she started to like him was because he was pretty. A fair reason to like someone, but it was the very first thing she noticed, without even knowing him. Later, we see so much of him yelling at and being basically terribly rude to her (which you mentioned). Fitz is a good character, and every character needs flaws. But his main flaw (which seems to be a bad temper) just doesn't work for Sophie. Keefe, on the other hand, fits well with Sophie- they complement each other. When Sophie is upset and stressed, Fitz makes it worse- Keefe is almost always there to comfort and reassure her. When Fitz is upset, their relationship falls apart and Fitz is just angry a lot. When Keefe is in a bad place, Sophie can make him feel better. There's honestly just more chemistry between Keefe and Sophie and that's basically why I ship them. (Sorry this was so long lol) Again, I loved the video and I'm so glad I found this channel! :))

Is it just me or does the Sophie/Fitz/Keefe situation remind you of the Jack/Rose/Cal situation on Titanic? It's kind of a stretch but if you think about it, Fitz could basically be Cal (anger issues, very well-known, etc.), and Keefe could be Jack (not as accepted into society, all that jazz), and Sophie, while sort of 'with' Fitz, isn't happy. Again, a big stretch, and a random analogy, but idk lol

You picked up on a lot of things I noticed myself while reading the series. I knew I would love Keefe from book one, but I really started to see him as one of my favorite characters of all time during Neverseen. For an elf, Keefe is the most 'human' or real of all of KOTLC. By Neverseen, Keefe is a clear main character, in that his own life and history is closely tied to the Neverseen. Keefe makes mistakes. He makes wrong calls, pushes people away, shuts himself up, blames himself for things he had no way of knowing, or preventing. Yet he never feels angsty. He tries to make others happy because of his own unhappiness. He wants to help, never hurt. Just like Sophie. Personally, I like Sophie best when she's planning with the Black Swan, or with Keefe. Their banter just flows so naturally, and over time, their relationship slowly grows. Reading book one after finishing Legacy is really eye-opening when you see just how much the series has evolved. Keefe, who was created solely to be Fitz's best friend, is now more of a main character than Sophie. Alden, who was once so important to the story, is rarely even seen. It's almost a completely different series...until you read the books and watch the slow change sink in. I am very much a Sokeefe fan. But I never want a story's plot to be overwhelmed by romance unless I am specifically reading a romance. Books 6 and 7 may have been enjoyable for shipping, but overall, were very disappointing when it came to the real plot. That's why I loved Legacy. There was much more focus in book 8. Love your channel guys. Keep up the great videos!

In my opinion, Sophie keeps on saying and thinking that she likes Fitz basically in her MIND. But, in her HEART, I think it's screaming for Keefe.

So first things first, yeah. I’m biased. I ship Sokeefe. But I had nothing better to do and I had this bubbling in my chest for a while. (also sorry that its so long) So here are my reasons. 1: Sophie seems a lot more comfortable are Keefe- she goes straight to Keefe whenever she needs something. Even when she was in a relationship with Fitz, which sort of shows that Sophitz had a few relationship issues (I’ll touch on that later). You can see the difference in Keefe and Fitz in how they both deal with anger. When Fitz got angry at her he shut her out and was horrible to her. In contrast, Keefe managed to keep himself in check and even opened up to the point of inviting Sophie to another window slumber party. And Keefe had a valid reason, Sophie did hide information about his mother that affected him. But he managed to get over that and figure it out with Sophie in a healthy way. Conversely, Fitz got really mad at Sophie in Exile and in the aftermath of that saw how much it hurt her, but still blew up at her in Flashback. 2: Fitz needs to get his shit together- I now from how I phrased that it’s a bit aggressive, but Fitz kind of has some problems. I already mentioned the blowing up on Sophie thing but there’s other things too. Fitz usually winds up being too sucked into his own problems. At the end of Flashback, Sophie was in the middle of a panic attack. I’ll repeat that. She was in the middle of a panic attack because of PTSD. Keep in mind that they were already together at this point. And you know was helping her through that? Keefe. Despite the fact that Fitz was right there as well. And while I understand that he had his issues with his brother, your girlfriend is right there dealing with a PANIC ATTACK (This part may have just pissed me off because I deal with anxiety and if my significant other just stood there it would kinda hurt. Not that I have a significant other). Another thing too, Fitz is kind of a hypocrite when it comes to secrets. He gets mad at Sophie whenever she wants to keep a secret, but then he’s insanely smug when his other friends want to know and then echoes the same sentiments as Sophie had moments ago. 3: Sokeefe is honestly very cute- a less thought out point, but still valid 4: Sophitz had MAJOR relationship issues- I’d like to make the argument that Sophie and Fitz have a few fundemental differences that make them incompatible. The obvious one being matchmaking. That whole thing was a train wreck. Thank goodness for Ro, honestly, because she was basically the only thing that helped Sophie realize how fixated Fitz was on the matchmaking thing. But I think everyone saw how that turned out, and I’m glad that Sophie kept it ended with him (is that a legible sentence?). But also in something that I only recently considered: Sophie is a LOT more forgiving than Fitz we can see that with Keefe in Lodestar and Alvar in Flashback. I think that if they stayed together, I’m sure that this would have been a major source of conflict because Fitz seems to give up on people the moment they give him a slight reason and Sophie clearly disagrees with that line of thinking. And as an extra point, I want to talk about that chapter at the end of flashback in Keefe’s perspective. First, Alden, what was that?? Leave the teenagers alone??? You can’t just tell Keefe to leave Sofie and Fitz alone?? Your an adult??? Can you tell that I was really pissed off by that? But on a happier note, there was this line from Keefe (direct quote) “Sophie’s not some prize that Fitz and I get to fight over. She’s a person. And she has her own feelings.” I felt like a proud mother. You can really tell that Keefe respects her from that one line alone. In conclusion, I’m way to emotionally invested in a the lives of fictional characters and I probably shouldn’t have spent to much time on this, but I have no life, so. . . (Also sorry for any grammar I’m on my phone)

Ok so, this is complicated. I used to say I was a Sophitz fan because I had a toxic friend who would freakin have a war with you if you didn’t agree with her. Luckily I barely talk to her now. But after I stopped pretending to ship Sophitz, I got really confused at who I wanted Sophie to be with. I spent hours thinking about it. There were pros and cons for both. And then I read Flashback. When I read it I was like...wow this is some Sophitz action! Maybe they are the better ship. That’s when Legacy came out, and everything went downhill. Now I take pride in calling myself a SoKeefe shipper. I still love Fitz, but I think he would be better with someone else. Also most of my friends are SoKeefe shippers....(it’s scary sometimes to listen to them rant about it) Edit: I do wanna say something about Legacy tho....imagine how Fitz feels knowing that he hasn’t seen his girlfriend for a while, but he finds her at his best friends house, when she hasn’t visited him in....a little bit. But he treated her poorly so....yeahhhh. Sorry Fitz, next time treat the gal better!

I love your introduction! Keephie (or SoKeefe) for life! Keefe is so nice to her. She needs someone who puts her happiness before his own. Keefe just wants her to be happy. Fitz is constantly shouting at her and putting his happiness before hers. Sophie doesn’t have to be careful around Keefe. When she’s around Fitz, she always has to watch what she says, and it feels fake. I am really enjoying this video. You put so much effort into this. I think I really went against fitz when he kept insisting Sophie to register for matchmaking even when Sophie was not sure. And when Sophie said that she wasn’t going to register after knowing about oralie , Fitz kinda just left her crying. Plus keefe never worries about these things and always just wants to make sophie feel good. #teamkeefe.

I had a dream where in book 9 sophie was about to choose between fitz and keefe and the then the book ended with a cliffhanger saying "New series coming out next year." 😭

Loved this video! Even though I didn’t vote for it on the poll, I’m glad this is the video you ended up making. I really liked how you pulled stuff out from the text as proof, and not just as evidence for your personal ship, but as what you think Shannon is going to make cannon. And you chose some pretty good scenes too, I definitely noticed some of them as I was reading the series. One thing I want to add was from the second scene you mentioned, where Keefe found out about her and Fitz. In her mind, she says something about how she hadn’t known how much they were going to tell people about them, or even what their relationship really was. This, to me, shows poor communication skills (which is also shown plenty of other times throughout their relationship), which is never good in a relationship. It also shows just how awkward and uncertain the whole thing is. Just something else I noticed! But, yeah, I agreed with all these points, and think the video was very well done, so great job! Ok. So the fact that Sophie almost always tells Keefe important things first is a HUGE key. And the fact that she and Keefe connect on a deeper level shows that her heart says Keefe but her head says F...F...Fitz 🤢. In legacy, after Loanmore, Fitz outright said that he missed Sophie, and Sophie missed him too. They only were arguing because Fitz has a lot of stuff going on because he is a teenager. He is the golden boy from the golden family. Expectations are high for him. He doesn’t want to let anyone down. I believe Sophitz will win.

1.) Hypothetically, the interruption could be to make them stronger. Also screaming is a negative connotation, screaming can be happy. 2.) If you are dating someone and you want to tell someone, that's normal. The second point I agree with. 3.) We know Fitz has anger issues. He doesn't mean to hurt her but Sophie is making him want to change. 4.) Sophie also called Fitz amazingly handsome but I agree with this. 5.) Sophie helping Keefe I agree with this. I think that generally both ships in the end would work but did everybody forget that Keefe actually admits that it is hard to spend time with Sophie because of her strong emotions. And if you remember empaths (like Vespera) who spend too much time reading emotions will stop feeling their own emotions properly. Keefe would become pretty much emotion less.😰

I LOVED this video, thank you! It has a lot of great points that I never even thought of! But yeah, I totally agree, I loooove the scene in legacy when keefe says “I’m... really glad I met you, Sophie.” Sophie and Keefe just have such great chemistry in that scene, and I think it flows perfectly. If it was sophitz I feel like her face would’ve gotten really red and her heart would’ve been “fluttering” but I feel like that takes away from the beauty and chemistry of the scene. Sofitz: I find it a toxic relationship, Fitz gets over dramatically mad at Sophie for reasons she can not control (ex: Exile, Sophie never wanted to break Alden’s mind) and he told her things that would be hard to take back. I was in a kind of relationship where my bf would constantly yelling at me so yes, I know how Sophie feels. Sokeefe: I love how Keefe takes things slow with Sophie, it’s because he can feel her emotions. He knows how she feels so her emotions tell him “Alright I think I’m getting a little too mad, I’ll calm down” and even if Fitz knew that I doubt he would calm down because of he’s anger. *Thank you*

I used to be a Sophitz shipper, but that drastically changed after reading Flashback and that Keefe short story with Alden 🤷‍♀️ Fitz's anger issues really bother me a lot. I understand that that's his flaw as a character, but it really doesn't fit with Sophie--it only adds up to her anxiety and overall nervousness. There's also that thing with him being a Vacker. He should be willing to face whatever people have to say about him and his family if he really wants to accept Sophie as a part of his life (like scandals with the Neverseen or Sophie's uniqueness in general), but I don't think we can expect that of him. Then again, Sophie herself doesn't even know if she wants to constantly be in the spotlight, let alone be a Vacker! Keefe and Sophie, on the other hand, complement each other. Keefe has a low self-esteem (thanks to his aMaziNg parents) and makes up for it with jokes and all that, but he is not afraid to let his guard down when it's just him and Sophie. They trust each other, and they know how to help each other feel better (like when Keefe makes Sophie calm down whenever she gets nervous and how Sophie cheers up Keefe whenever he feels down). Not to mention, he's willing to compromise his own happiness for Sophie's. Every. Single. Time. Sokeefe would last longer, if you ask me. Not to be a downer- I loved the vid, and I love your channel,- but you didn’t cover a few of the more important Keefe moments: the ones where Keefe pushes Sophie away. These were more towards the beginning of the series, but I still think they’re important. You also didn’t touch on the whole Sophie’s bio mom point and how they both handled it.

I just realized something in legacy when Sophie and fitz broke up Fitz was lowkey right I mean the part where she said that she doesnt have a choice because she has to keep her mother a secret and fitz said that she's fifty percent of the way of fixing everything and then sophie replied saying she really cant say anything but I feel like she misunderstood what fitz was saying I think he probably meant that she could still find her father and still keep her mother a secret there's a chance that her father isnt as well known as oralie so it's possible I'm not saying its Sophie's fault but I feel like they should've had a talk calmly and not jump to conclusions and stuff and besides they're like what 15-17 they're teenagers so they're bound to be like this Plus when he was mean to sophie in exile he sort of made up for it in everblaze so maybe they wouldn't be separated forever maybe after things cool down a bit and they become a bit more mature theyll maybe get back together

I will tell you a story about how I became a SOKEEFE shipper! The title of this story is "The Confusing Road to becoming a SOKEEFE shipper" It all when a murderer was chasing me and all I had was a KEEPER book to defend myself and --I'm just kidding ! But here's the real story . It all started when I read the first chapters the first book,I shipped sofitz . You can see why . As I read more of the first book,I started shipping dexphie, he's really nice to her though . When it came to the second book,Dex started to spend less time with Sophie and Fitz started to hate her.Keefe started spending the most time with Sophie and I started to see something in SOKEEFE! I was only on the third book when my friend was waiting for the 7th book. She said that she hoped for sofitz to be engame . To be honest I was a little confused about the sophitz shipping, but happy about the 7th book coming out. But right after the 7th book came out , I was still on the third book when my friend 😖👿😤😑 😐 spoiled a huge part of the 7th book! Without a warning and without an apology ! ( SPOILER ALERT TO THE PEOPLE WHO DID NOT YET READ THE 7TH BOOK) She told me "yay I'm so happy that sofitz is finally together " and left my classroom without a word. I felt first of all mad because she spoiled a huge part . My friend did also spoil some episodes of MIRACULOUS LADYBUG . Which lead me to me telling my brain that"it's not happening ! It's not happening!It's not happening ! " But about the sophitz thing my mind screamed "WHAT? HOW?" I tried to convince myself that " It's not happening! It's not happening! It's not happening ! " And since that never works I just happened to give sofitz the benefit of the doubt and say, "Maybe there will more sofitz moments ". It took me til the end of the school year (yes I'm a slow reader and I like to saber in the goodness of the KEEPER BOOKS) until I was finally in the 7th book . I t took a LONG time to finally get to that sophitz moment. When I finally got there I was still confused about sophits . Later in the summer a thought hit me hard , (I'm sorry Sophitz shippers but) shipping sophitz felt wrong . I remembered that in the 7th book the Fitzter was all "oh I hate you " on Foster, and then "oh I love you" . Wait what!? AND BAM !!!!THAT IS HOW I BECAME A SOKEEFE SHIPPER!!!!!!!😄 The moral of the story is if you see or hear a spoiler run don't walk away it's very dangerous !!! You: isn't the moral of the story also just because your friend likes something doesn't mean you have to force yourself to like it too? Hi guys! I started reading Keeper of the Lost cities last month, and now I'm up to Lodestar. Shannon Messenger has truly fulfilled our dreams by creating these series. But there is more important matters that needs to be discussed. Like the cute and awesome SHIPS!!! Sophitz and Sokeefe. Personally, I like them both the same. However, I feel like some of us (actually MOST of us..) disvalue Fitz. This is mainly because of his typical "anger issues". I understand he gets very mad and says/does stupid stuff. But who doesn't get furious when something bad happens?! Fitz will always be a close supportive friend to Sophie, because the author made him to play that role (just like Sophie's other companions). Ooh, and also, everyone thinks Wonderboy and his family are so "perfect" and "happy". But all people have to face hardship, right?! Like the time when Alden's mind got broken, and when Alvar turned out to be a member of the Neverseen. Do you not think the Vackers were heartbroken and torn to pieces?! Fitz appreciates his relationship with Sophie, and not just because they're COGNATES!! He always checks on Foster, gives her advice and gifts her with lovely presents. My take on Sophitz vs Sokeefe: Sophitz has lots of potential, as seen through their friendship. They both depend on each other and are cognates(yes ik the line is overused but hey it IS a valid argument). HOWEVER they are not mature enough to be in a relationship currently and will have to mature A LOT before they could work. On the other hand, Sokeefe also has tons of potential. They both DEFINITELY depend on each other a lot throughout the series, and their friendship is so cute. The difference is that Sokeefe allows each character to help the other mature. Sophie helps Keefe mature, and Keefe does the same for Sophie. That is the fundamental difference on why Sokeefe works better, and why it will prevail. (NO HATE ANYONE CAN SHIP WHAT THEY WANT I TRIED TO BE THE LEAST BIASED I CAN AND THIS IS MY GENUINE TAKE ON THIS RELATIONSHIP)!

I just cannot believe how much this channel has grown. I mean, this video has 700+ views. I'm proud of you guys( and myself because I've been a subscriber before 2000 subs *wink* 😜) Ok nice stuff done, let's get on with the ships. As a very few might know, I was a *hardcore* *super* *god-mode* *activated* Sophitz shipper before Legacy. But then Fitz just continues to be a jerk for the rest of his life(yes, I can see the future). A very few say *-dont hate the characters-*. But seriously, no one wants Fitz now. Sophitz is done now. Sokeefe, on the other hand, is much better. I shouldn't even need to say that. It's just better. Sokeefe actually feels like a relationship ( even though it hasn't begun yet, trust me, it will). Sophitz just feels like a ex-couple hanging out. Like they loved each other before, but then one of them is like *no* [insert childish voice] and then the other one's like *ok fine*. Meanwhile, Sokeefe has affection. They both have feelings for each other and they just don't know it. I mean, Keefe knows because he's smart and Sophie's just oblivious. Heh, dumb Sophie. I really hope that Alden is not withe Neverseen, he's one of my favourite characters. Aaaannd that's my opinion on the ships. It's *my* opinion, okay? I'm not trying to go war with you. I think the only reason Sophie liked Fitz was because he is good looking and he was her first friend. And naturally there's a pretty good chance that a girl might get feelings for the first boy who talked to her nicely (talking from experience 😶) Meanwhile I think we have hints throughout the books that Sophie subconsciously likes Keefe. For example : how when she was hanging out with Keefe in legacy, she felt like she was cheating. How Keefe smiled In lodestar when he realized he understood Sophie's feelings more clearly and many more examples. phew that was long.

When you said that Sophie thinks that her and Fitz and not perfect together, I think it's because she's insecure, and doesn't think that she's good enough. But I do agree that Fitz has went a little to far in the last books, with blaming her and making her feel more insecure than she already does.

I think Shannon added Keefe's hope and the relationships in general to Keeper of the lost cities to add depth to the characters. I learned so much more about Keefe's personality when he got closer to Sophie. Not to mention how she added way more layers to Fitz's with his Sophie's relationship progressing and eventually ending. If she didn't add all of Keefe's hope, would we have dug as deep into Keefe beautiful personality, or just scratched the surface. In addition, the silent war between Keefe and Fitz for Sophie added a lot to other characters as well.

I think that Sokeefe will win. Not just because I ship it, but also because Fitz expected too much out of his relationship with Sophie. Without so much of a warning started calling Sophie his girlfriend before they had talked about if that’s where they wanted to go . Also, you tell that at the end of Legacy that she had kinda came to her senses. I hope that she move her attention to Keefe more now that she and Fitz had ‘broken up’. And hopefully start dating to a relationship that’s more satisfying.
