I loved the premise of this interview. I just finished reading the novels Manon Lescaut and The Lady of the Camellias, and in Dumas' novel, Armand Duval buys Marguerite Gautier a copy of Manon Lescaut as a symbol of their relationship and what he hopes won't happen to them. Reading these novels back to back and loving and studying both of the operatic roles is therefore even more interesting than I thought earlier.
