Over a whore tho? I have loved 2 women and still to this day I'll dream about them sometimes even when I'm sleeping In some other girls bed and I'll wake up and be sad
It really depicts Tony’s duality. While at one point he is emotionally vulnerable being moved so much by the song that’s playing on the radio, and at the other point he is beating someone with a belt.
@@peanutbutterboi8489 Duality is a Christian concept based on GOOD VS EVIL but no one is completely good or completely evil, even the most dangerous criminals and murderers keep a degree of humanity in them and viceversa "good" citizens can become murderers, just like Tony Soprano which is not completely evil nor good. So there is no duality, The Sopranos is closer to Buddhism than it is to Christianity.
He did because all he could think of was irina in this scene the song brought him back to being told by the man that he was seeing irina and he cared for her and Tony just did love irina
1972, 22 years old driving on the Long Island Expressway, heard this song after leaving a girl I was madly in love with in High School. We were both crazy in love at 18 but here we are 4 years later, I just graduated from college but was married with a baby she was divorced with a 4-year-old kid. Looked into each other's eyes and knew it was never gonna happen again but the feelings were still there, the emotion was strong but had to walk and forget this part of my life it was over this song was on the radio...never forgot that feeling now in 2022.. 50 years later listening; thinking of her. It haunts me still..OH, GIRL!
Man that's a good one. I almost visualized while reading I was in a situation similar. But I knew I made the right decision, but still imprinted in my mind tho. GOD BLESS
There’s always something about your first real love, it’s something you won’t ever forget. I’m preparing for the inevitable but I know it’s gonna hurt really bad.
Tony was drunk. He should of never have mentioned he was dating Tony ex girlfriend. Tony saw it as a power move. That he didn't know his place in their relationship.
this scene shows so much about tony in a good way.... his reaction is not that of a so-called sociopath. that look he has for irina before leaving speaks for itself
Devastates me tears at my soul. Tony learning to feel...such an epic series. I know he's thinking about Gloria feeling responsible. Tony and Gloria I loved them together.
Easily my favorite scene from the show. It just an absolute roller-coaster that perfectly displays every aspect of Tony’s character. Not to mention the perfect use of music.
I got my wife to watch the Sopranos about 2 years ago after asking her to watch it with me for like 15 years. She cant get over the fact that all the characters just seem so real, like they exist somewhere out there in New Jersey and you are just watching their lives. Its a testimate to the writing, the actors, the stories and situations they find themselves in. This show is so good because things hit you on a deep emotional level and as crazy as the characters are, we all relate to them at times. This is a prime example of that, getting sad over a song that somehow touches deep seeded feelings suddenly. I will stick by this statement that, this is the greatest show of all time....wish it never ended, wish I could go back and watch it for the first time again. Nothing beats this show for the connection you feel to all the characters, whether they are good or bad at times. I miss James Gandolfini so much man.......ugh.
Best thing about the character Tony is that he is many western men out there and it is too bad it is not seen/programmed to be not seen as a real thing with all the emotion there. the show and characters is a great representation of things.
JG definitely locked into something real in his performances; it just doesn't feel like acting. The poor guy was so hard on himself, too. He's definitely missed.
Other explanation would be that he was thinking about another girl he was dating that killed herself after they broke up, wich made him feel upset and guilty
Crying over your old side piece and doing something that could land you in prison and/or ruin your marriage is not how ken handle business. Stop taking life lessons from fictional gangsters.
