Wouldn’t say it’s underestimated, karma just does it better than the others to the point where she out shines them to the point of them being “off meta”
@@ket5818 The problem really is, this only works if your team is doing good. You're not gonna ever carry the game as soraka top. All you'll ever do with this is cement a game you're already winning.
That's how that usually goes. I play Soraka top a lot and while you can easily go 2/0 or 3/0 early, once the enemies start to get tanky, fun is over. You can't kill them anymore and the game gets so boring it makes you want to Alt+F4.
A lot of people forget/don't know that the speed of Soraka's Q depends on how close to herself she places it. Up close it's super quick, at far ranges it's fairly reactable.
I'd love to see a Soraka player go top with her. You have to stop using E for harass, it costs too much mana and has a long cooldown and leaves you vulnerable. And always cast Q to slow before putting E down to silence, so they have less movespeed to move out of E. They'll be silenced longer and potentially rooted at the end.
I'm a Soraka main (usually Support), and after watching this video I decided to try her out top lane. I'm not the best player, I'm currently Masters but I'll share the build I took. First Strike > Cash Back > Triple Tonic > Jack of All Trades Manaflow Band > Celerity I disagree with Pekin's rune page since I don't think Resolve tree is the best option for solo lane Soraka. While Revitalize benefits yourself, it's primarily taken to benefit your allies in the case of Soraka. If you are top lane you aren't interacting with your teammates as often and won't benefit much from the bonus healing. Manaflow band is a lot better and allows you to skip biscuits for Triple Tonic, which can help with CSing early game. As well as it is more useful as the game goes on. You can take Transcendence or Gathering Storm if you want, I go Celerity because Soraka benefits a lot from the bonus MS with her Q and Passive and it's hidden OP on her. Cosmic Insight is fine, however I went for Jack of All Trades since the build has a bunch of unique stats if you build both enchanter and AP items. As for the actual build, I went Boots of Swiftness > Seraph's (I prefer it over RoA, just a preference) > Moonstone > Dawncore > Redemption > Deathcap. You can also buy a support item if you want, but I didn't since I didn't stop farming. Pretty much at 3 items you are 10x more useful than support Soraka. Skill order is Q > E > W, but you can put 2-3 points in W before maxing E if you are roaming a lot since E doesn't do that much more damage with points and it doesn't give you wave clear.
Its so cool how you're getting so big on yt now, I play euw and every time you play a weird top pick I see it the day after in my games (for like the first time) half the time, first this then Senna
I used to love Soraka Top. It's such an obnoxious lane for the enemy to deal with. And they *have* to deal with you. Then Korea came around and made it popular.
If you don’t play Malzahar, you’ll nether hear my joke about Malzahar. Please don’t avoid playing him any longer. Thanks, from Florida where it’swarm right now. That’s all I got.
I tried Soraka with enchanters. Best game was off those one with a Lulu. We could pin down the enemy carries and we could turn tides of teamfights. Lulu and Soraka damage is nothing to snicker at either. I played APless Raka. Only support and tank stuff. (This was back in ten or eleven I think?) Game with a Yuumi botside and Raka mid was awful though. Enemy had a lot if grievous. Soraka bot and Janna top was awesome. Shields and heals galore. I used to have a locket as a core for the increased shield (I built HealnShieldPower) and the resists.
Soraka can be like a ranged warwick, but with less damage, decent zoning, and your strenght helps your team, even is top ends up in an iland that the junglers never touch The last game, I wonder if a bit earlier ultimates would have worked. In high elo, I know players are more aware, probably banking in your R and have everything better measured, but in low elo, may be some plays could be made if the team knew they had the resource aviable earlier, to play more confidently
You need to combo your Q and E more, if you can predict that the Q hits with like 70% chance or whatever, just put the E below them as well, so they can't avoid the snare. Could have netted you some kills on that Urgot and saved you on a 2v1 chase from them
Maybe that Urgot plays Heroes of the Storm since his name is Malthael OTP. Malthael is a solo laner like Urgot and one of his ults is an execute like Urgot's.
Idk why Pekin is surprised enemy junglers spam gank Soraka top every game, she's literally a free kill - a squishy immobile champion. It's also a shame we didn't get an ap Soraka with like Liandry's and stuff. And I don't think we ever will, he was so sick of playing Soraka he even wanted to ff the last game! I don't think I ever seen him start a surrender vote! But it also goes to show that the "never surrender games, people make mistakes and throw all the time, especialy in low elo" mentality can only go so far. Sure, everyone will say that, but everybody has their limit. Sometimes a game is just too much. Even if not physically and you could still win if all of you play well, then emotionally - you just can't, it's too miserable and you feel like you can't carry and have no influence over the game and you would rather just go next. Happens to everybody.
You're using the abilities wrong. Silence either to land your Q on someone who can't dodge since they have no abilities, or defensively to peel/zone between you and the opponent. You are trying to use it like a Chogath Q for some reason when it takes much more time to activate. Once the Q lands, then you auto and back up. Have used her with Grasp quite a lot, and yes, she will get solo or even 1v2 kills. But she's a support. So you take her top when you have a tank bot, or your want double squishy support. And set up kills. She can also do Mid Lane for the same reasons. And make sure to tap the R button more for your teammates. Also, get Exhaust and Ghost. Renekton shouldn't be killing you under tower. Waiting for him to land on you to use your abilities is NOT how to play her. Also, get anti heal and DO NOT let minions crash into your tower. That's basic shit man, you keep them away so you can't be jumped. Clear your waves.
A little disappointed with the Urgot gameplay. His rune setup was fine, but he was not playing with the right mindset. He was acting as if he was PTA + ignite Urgot, not fleet Urgot with no damage summ. He just does not have damage to all in much early. It's a scaling setup, not a lane setup 😅
I get the idea of them, but I'm not a fan of the "preview" plays at the start of videos. I'd rather come across those awesome random plays as they happen instead of constantly expecting and looking for it, and just knowing that it's going to occur. Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth. I always skip over it if I can in time before spoiling myself
If you skip over them then that's still fine? I'm pretty sure if they got him worse viewer retention/watch time statistics over time he wouldn't be using them, same with overexaggerated thumbnails and all other view hustle stuff. I'm not saying your preference is not relevant, but the relationship with the algorithm kind of puts more priority on getting views and not always trying to make the most enjoyable veiwing experience, would you really want him to stop using them knowing it gives him better statistics when he's been mentioning recently that his channel is dying
@@boba7288 The problem is that I often times can't skip it in time if I'm not ready. I assume I'm watching a super early game fight or something before he does his intro and instead I'm spoiling the best clip of the whole video. I understand the logistics of RU-vid, I'm just giving my $.02 as an extremely long time viewer of the channel.
