Literally watching this while waiting for a coat to dry on a mini I'm painting lol. It's only my second one of many to come on my painting journey. You've been an absolute inspiration for me as a beginner, and have already taught me countless techniques that I've been able to apply successfully. Just wanted to leave you a thanks for being that inspiration that gave me the courage to jump into the hobby, and being the teacher who taught me skills I'll be able to build on for years to come. Thank you, Sorastro.
I’ve only recently discovered your RU-vid channel and would like to say how completely knocked out I am with everything I’ve seen so far. Im very excited to follow some of the Kingdom Death tutorials over the coming months. First class content and delivery. Very impressed.
Once again, amazing job and great colours! I do see why you would love painting Crisis Protocol. The many colours makes each one really distinct from each other.
Dude u are the best, and i mean it.You keep it simple ,with easy steps and with few colors and some easy mix, so everyone can have access to them without having to buy a ton of differente tones of every color, and with perfect results that give us the courage to try it ourselves. ive watched lots of painters on youtube but they seem to forget that they are doing a painting guide and dont keep it nice and simple. i know that some people are more experienced on painting and are more demanding , but your videos i think cover both the pro and average type of painters. keep up the good work.
Very good! You deserve every patreon shown at the end. Congratulations for tour videos! One of the best and more educative channels on painting figures.
Thank you! Although the colour scheme in the movies works great on film, I felt on a miniature it might be a little too monochrome, so I drew inspiration from the comics too. :)
I figure this video is as good as any place to leave a comment: Yesterday I was continuing a space marine I'm painting and after taking a picture and looking at it I was rather pleased with what I saw. Inevitably I thought about the progress I had made ever since I started painting miniatures a couple years back. And so I thought it would be nice to direct some sort of appreciation to where it all started for me. Had it not been for your videos of Imperial Assault I would have never thought about humbly starting to paint those Stormtroopers. And that would've never led to painting some Zombicide minis and finally some GW stuff and ultimately resulted in a very rewarding hobby for me which I take a lot of pleasure from. Even though I don't watch your videos as religiously as I used to I have very fond memories of following you along or simply be in awe watching you paint the fire giant from blood rage. Your effort and work gave me a huge push in the right direction and if nothing else I thought I'd take the time say thank you for all that you do! I'm quite certain your work does not only inspire me but many many other people to pick up this wonderful hobby.
..and that just made my day! Thank you so much for the kind comment! If my videos have played any part in helping you (and others) to engage with and enjoy this magical hobby, then I can sleep happily indeed. :)
I think one of your best in Crisis Protocol! I started painting miniatures (LOTR: Journeys in Middle Earth) with the help of your videos. Got me through the lockdown and I now have a new hobby! Cheers!
@@Sorastro Thank you for making the videos! I hate to gush, but I also really like the contrast in textures with the almost sateen pants and the excellent leather treatments. It's inspiring (though I may be a bit too hard on myself now)!
This one had me spellbound. Your skills just keep growing! It also had me drooling over the Scalecolor range, may have to finally take the plunge there.
Thank you Joston! I’m certainly enjoying pushing myself with each mini, and not worrying too much about making them “beginner friendly” (although I hope the guides are still accessible!) 😀
@@Sorastro They most defiantly are and you have plenty of beginner friendly stuff already. This will help those who wish to grow by giving them guidance on how to do better techniques with clear explanations.
While im more into your fantasy Painting, i really loved this paint job. It prob was my favorite of the Crisis Protocol so far. Thank you for all the high quality videos. Happy painting!
Thoroughly enjoy all your videos, I did read full description on this one (looking for what brush u used) hello to u too and thank u for all the specific info in the description!
My son and i, we love your work, we call you 'god'. We paint together star wars impérial assaut miniatures. Come in France we want to shake your hand!!!👍👍👍🖌🖌
Dear Sorastro, Yet another masterpiece! I certainly enjoyed your tutorial and am very inspired. Hope all is well both with you and your Family? Kind Regards Johnny
Wonderful work, Mark :) I absolutely love Vallejo's fluorescent range of colors. How different is the fluorescent red from the orange? On camera your red looked identical to the Vallejo fluorescent orange that I use.
Thanks a lot! Yes - the VMA Fluorescent Red is very similar to the VMC Fluorescent Orange (so, it's not really that red!) - it just has a more regular consistency which I find easier to work with (I think the VMC Fluo paints are gel based?) :)
Amazing as always Sorastro. I was wondering, do you think you could make a guide for the Dark Souls board game? I've been getting better at this hobby through your videos but the "miniatures" in that game are so big and detailed I'm afraid to screw up.
Amazing man, is amazing, your channel, your videos, your content, are the best free tutorials/material all over the internet. Best angle camera, best video quality, best narrative, best music, really i can't find anything better, i don't even paint the models you paint, but just seeing what you do it is so helpful and useful. About the music.... Any new music release soon ? ;)
Hey, thanks a lot! Yes I do play the games! I sometimes post on social media when I'm having a game: twitter.com/Sorastros/status/1265252628981846016?s=20 :)
Quick question. I know you mention various brushes from Rosemary and co. I am looking for the best brushes with true points and hold paint well and when I went to their site, there were over 200 pages of brushes. Is there a specific type or set you would recommend I buy?
Do you ever work with pro acryl paints? If you like scale color and vallejo I feel like they are the perfect middle ground. Vallejos coverage with scale colors matte finish. Great video I've had a lot of fun painting along for this game. Keep up the great work!
Can't thank you enough for this. My starlord now looks amazing! Side question for you: What do you use for filming? Thinking about filming some of my stuff but the iphone don't cut it.
"I'm just wandering how many people read this far down the description - hello if you have! :)" I always do ;) hehehe, cheers! ✌🏻Amazing video as always!
Amazing work as always. Would you consider doing an assembly video? There are a lot of us who have heard horror stories of how bad the process is with this particular game.
Thank you! I think I covered a bit about assembly in the first episode, but haven't bothered with each subsequent figure. Honestly they're not that bad! I think AMA have actually now started numbering the parts to make them even easier to assemble.. :)
Hi Daniel! Black kind of shares properties with blue, so mixing it with yellow will give you a dark, greyish green tone. That's not so say you couldn't do it if you wanted, I just find blues and purples have a bit more "depth" so typically work well in shadows and darker tones. :)
@@Sorastro ahh, alright. Well I hope you do Rocket soon, he's one of my favorites and trying to find the right shade of gray-brown and that slightly beige off-white is gonna be a nightmare!

@@Sorastro for everything ? Even fine detail ? Do they keep a good point I have gotten so many brushes people swear by and they really suck like the tip is not as good ... or its just me 😅 Thanks for the reply btw I just got the core set yesterday and I normally paint warhammer so
I have improved my painting skills so much from watching your videos. If you’re ever looking for a new theme of minis to paint please check out Signum Games. It would be amazing to see you paint some of there miniatures.
I've never understood how your paint stays wet on the model for so long. I get it staying wet on the wet palette of course, but my paint dries super fast once it hits the mini. It makes wet blending way harder than you make it look.
