@@tylerdurden3722 I do rather just run a 2070 Super, Ryzen 1600, 4TB storage (intended for games) + 30TB NAS (intended for files and downloads, running ZFS and RAIDZ3) and 32GB RAM in a nice looking mATX desktop, and then use a power efficient laptop like a Ultrabook from Latitude, ProBook or Thinkpad with a nice keyboard, screen, etc. I'll then just turn on the PC remotely through VPN and play a game with Moonlight or Steam Remote Play, or stream a movie to me, it all works well over 5Ghz, even over 2.4Ghz if i lower bandwidth settings. Hell, i regularly play games with simply my 6.8 inch phone, Steam Link app, Steam Controller and a cheap phone holder to click on the controller, that way i can even play games over 4G and it works really well with very low latency and relatively good stream quality (i do lower the bandwidth so the ISP does not get mad... to fast, probably 1GB used every 45 min.). However people like to play games directly on their laptop, it really often increases the bulk and weight (this one is a exception i think) and shortens the battery life, but i feel like laptops are better off just being ergonomic, mobile with long battery life, a nice screen and keyboard not to be a portable desktop, a real desktop does that job better, with better cooling too. 2nd hand enterprise laptops are also pretty cheaply priced (might just need new batteries and a SSD) compared to gaming laptops. For the job of gaming, I'll just stream all my games and heavy applications. Can understand though in a location without internet connectivity laptops with gaming capability might be preferred, but most people are fine with my setup with all the WLAN or LAN available.

The AVERAGE brightness is probably the same as other monitors though. It's just capable of peaking brighter for individual LED's as the content demands. The FALD will also be turning down the brightness of LED's when they need to be darker more than monitors without FALD. So I'm not sure there's any cause for concern.

@@CaveyMoth LEDs can still die, especially cheaper produced ones, which like you said would still be expensive to manufacture. That in turn could cause people to buy "superior looking" cheaply made TVs since they don't break the bank. Only time will truly tell though, let's just hope for the best.

For all the guys complaining how Apple is late to tech. Apple will ship several times as many Macs with MiniLED in comparison to this one model. They need the logistics behind that to work. They cannot afford to put something on the market that sells out in a couple of days and never gets new supplies. They are also rumored to use much smaller dimming zones that will make it far more comparable to OLED (get of my case I know OLED will still have better blacks but it can also suffer from burn in, loss of color accuracy at high brightness, off axis color shift, less longevity, pulse width modulation and more). They are also designing those displays to work with their own processors (the first 5nm processors on the market) and have custom display controllers to offset some of the HDR, Color accuracy (which Apple needs to work perfectly for the content creators using Macs) and battery complaints in this video.

Now literally everything uses it and it’s standardised. The HDR Color slider in windows only affects SDR content. True HDR Content is unaffected. MPC with MadVR, VLC Player or MPV player are good choices for HDR playback. MPC with Mad VR even switches automatically into HDR when the right content is laoded. Edge can also play YT Videos in HDR but only when HDR is turned on in W10. The only Video NLE that does true HDR out of the box is Magix Vegas Pro 18. So for everything else you should turn of HDR in W10 as it screws all SDR completely

jjhack3r not the point of that, the point was to say that if it was because our screens an oled phone is the best way to debunk that, the bloom is already smaller than on a big screen due to size and oled doesn’t have bloom, at most pixel light bleed but it isn’t noticeable especially on new oleds

8:30 this is not a con, if my laptop had a micro sd card slot i would use it... instead i have a bulky sd card slot. The fact that a micro sd card is fully inserted into the device makes it more practical on a laptop, whereas a regular sd card sticks out and is prone to getting caught on something and breaking, especially in motion. Alternatively if they could make full sized sd card slots that fully encase the sd card, that would solve the issue. For some reason, that is not done on any laptop I have seen.

My work recently bought me an MSI Workstation series WS75TK built on the same chassis as this one with a core i9 10980HK (custom thermal grizzly solution), quadro rtx 3000, and 64GB of 3200MHz ram. Interestingly MSI seems to have repurposed the speaker grill into a cooling exhaust to handle the extra heat, the only speakers on it seem to be bottom mounted. NGL this thing is freaking sweet and is absolutely crushing blender renders and CAD work.

btw, macbook 16" is also really loud. Solution to that and to the noise of the laptop reviewed here: Wireless noise cancelling headphones. You keep them on with the noise cancelling feature on even when there isn't any audio coming out of the system other than the fan noise. It is a huge difference with regards to how annoying the fan noise is!

Here is an interesting video series idea that I'm sure others might also want to see. Build the most insane performance desktop PC for various Windows versions that are no longer supported by Microsoft. Basically just show off what the maximum supported system configuration would be capable of and if it's still worth it to use as a daily driver computer. Maybe also consider doing this with laptops or other exotic hardware configurations that are also on the opposite side of things...maybe also exploring how much of a bad experience potato hardware would be and what specifically makes a given OS not run at all.

Heck-Gosh that was a good review. Im a Data Wrangler/DIT in the market for a on set workhorse. I usually used the high end rental gear so this a back up/odd job/small job/consistent benchmark tool that i onnly upgrade every 3-4yrs. Its work gear though so i dont spare the bucks and need to make the right choice. With that screen, I/O and 32gbs+ ram I was already searching order options by the 3min mark of this vid. But by the end my horses were put back in the stable even though I walked away with a clearer idea of what I must have in the new beast. Now just have wait for the next evolutions.

@@Superlalo_1 Omission of facts is lying. "No one is using oLED displays, except us." But they don't tell you that no one else uses REGULAR oLED, because they use AMOLED. That's an omission of facts. OLED is inferior to AMOLED. They've been saying they have the best tech, best looking iPhone displays. Since Samsung makes their screens, Samsung isn't going to let their number 1 competitor have a better screen. LOL. Apple got Samsung's old tech after Samsung was done with it. Apple didn't even have oLED until about 10 years after EVERY. SINGLE. OTHER. Manufacturer had oLED; even on their low-end phones. They still don't have AMOLED, and this generation (iPhone 11), you need to buy the pro to get oLED. What a joke. They think that adding brightness makes a better display. Apple and Apple sympathizers have claimed their "Retina" displays were the best. I've even heard people say, "I don't like Android because they don't have Retina displays, and their displays are fuzzy." Hahahaha.

@Linus Tech Tips: Actually the 02 Headphone Amp is pretty portable. It's covered under the Common Creative License and the original spec includes plugs for a 9v battery. CCL requires producers to follow the exact specs of the original design. Therefore, inside that little black box are a few endpoints for you to hook up a beautiful 9v battery and take it on the go! ...Ok maybe not so practical, but still technically portable.

4 and a half hours of battery, that is fine for road warriors, I jumped around Europe in hostels for 9 months as a programmer and my battery life was only fifteen minutes on a good day (5 seconds on a typical day). Electrical outlets are pretty ubiquitous.

Many photographers don't use SD reads on laptops... they stick a usb to camera... Removing SD card is always a huge bigg thicc danger... i lost a sd card while removing that from camera... many dslr s have usb type c port and has decent speed so why risking?

I'm a photographer. I used to use the cable, but the transfer speed is considerably slower than inserting the SD card straight into my Macbook Pro. Very conconfused as to why they'd give you a Micro SD, who still uses that? Android users? And if that's the case, how many just use their cable compared to taking the SD out.

@@migaeldannhauser Almost everything uses micro SD. Full sized SD is far less common, except for cameras. And cameras used by normal people (non photographers), which is few and far between since no one really uses dedicated cameras anymore (except for photographers), can take micro SD cards in a full sized adaptor. Janky Apple phones have no SD expansion, but that doesn't mean that no one uses micro SD.

I bought MSI's Prestige 15 last year for $1800 and was extremely happy with my purchase. The price to performance ratio is excellent, and MSI has nailed the exterior design on their creator laptops IMO. This on the other hand, feels a little bit less so... The screen is honestly a bit gimmicky. The early adopter tax also brings its price in line with the competition. Still a very interesting product, and mad props to MSI for already advancing the technology frontier despite being relatively new to the creator laptop market, but this one just isn't my piece of cake.
