Well, I glitched this fight. You need 2 tries first, count the number of hits to destroy the green orb and the number of hits to kill Richter. After that, damage the both of them until it only takes 1 hit to kill Richter and the Orb. Use a bomb item like Power of Sire, when both of them dies at the same time, the game will count as if you saved Richter but when you look at your time attack, Saved Richter Belmont won't be counted since you killed him. If you do this, you encounter a special glitch later. Hehe.
