Now that I’m thinking about it. This theme kinda sounds like something from Phantom menace. I know phantom menace came out later, but a bit or foreshadowing with this music that, at first seems triumphant, but becomes more sinister as it goes on?
Both his and Sophitia's are canon. Sophitia destroyed one of Soul Edge's blade but was gravely injured in the process with several fragments of the blade embedding themselves in her. Taki rescues her and also takes a few of the fragments from the encounter to repair her own nearly destroyed sword. After they leave, Siegfried gets his hand on the remaining blade and is malfested into becoming Nightmare.
Soul Blade/Edge Calibur have the sickest beats. I swear, the composition on all these games are truly insane! I find that Seigfried/Nightmare themes suit the character scarily perfectly.
I remember that in Soul Calibur 2 you could unlock Siegfried's original armor from Soul Edge as a costume for Nightmare, when I unlocked it...Nostalgia hit me like a train.
"I will not stop until I have avenged my farther!" Oh really Siegfried? Then point that sword the other way round and you have the person to kill right there, you crazed worryingly strong loon...Still my favourite version of Siegfried, He's cocky, overconfident, and just a little bit crazy.
@@Czesnek I like the detail that the music suddenly turns somewhat sinister at 0:36, giving us an indication even very early on in the series, that Siegfried wasn't exactly right in the head, to say the least.
I just started playing again. Now that im older and actually reading the literature, hes probably got the most tragic backstory and no real path to catharsis in this setting. Guess thats what made him the perfect candidate to be a vessel for soul edge.
I don't give a fuck what the devs or even what other fans think. Siegfried, for me, is always going to BE the definite main character of the Soul Calibur franchise because of all the deep character development he went through - his tragic past, his denial, his misguided attempt at vengeance, his fall into darkness, and then finally, his redemption. Go ahead, fight me!
It was interesting seeing the castle being defended by the Knights of Ostreheinsburg Castle and then in Soul Calibur after Siegfried had been possessed by the Soul Edge and became Nightmare, the whole place is completely obliterated for the wrong reasons.
I wish Siegfried Schtauffen had his Stage located Inside on Soul Edge/Soul Blade (Soul Calibur 1) just like Ducek Bruton Rambert from Battle Arena Toshinden 1 & Battle Arena Toshinden 2
I always write "HBD Sieg" under the date of the notebook and I always use light-blue pens instead of my regular purple pens every february 6th, Beat. I'm a fan of this character...
From the years of spamming the Triangle button in Soul Blade to carefully learning every combo in practice mode in Soul Caliber V Siegfried will always be my #1 fav
"I will not rest until I wreak vengeance for my father!" This version of his theme is reminiscent of a very Zelda-esque style tune mixed with a Duel of the Fates-style choir (especially 0:36 - 0:48)
Siegfried Schtauffen‘s theme over the years: Soul Blade: “I will not rest until I wreak vengeance for my father!” Soul Calibur: “How do you feel now?!” Soul Calibur III: “You could never beat me.”
@@setsunaemblem I can see him getting on with Marianne. In a similar way to Dimitri's support with her, he's a tortured soul who needs to learn to live with his transgressions, just like Dimitri. Marianne's also perpetually depressed in Part l and prays to the goddess hoping she can die and feels like a burden because of her Crest's "curse". I think the two would sympathise with each other. Siegfried is all too familiar with embracing the comfort of death and even moreso with being cursed.
I dumped a Ton of pound coins into London arcade machines playing this in the nineties.. Siegfried vs Sophitia felt like green lantern vs wonder woman in Kingdom Come..
it took me YEARS to learn he was the main character... thanks to them putting the emphasis on Mitsurugi I feel. I thought he was the main character forever... grief.
His role its a little hard to follow, he is technically one the main characters in Soul Edge despite his role isnt heroic (literally was crazy) he was the one who defeated Soul Edge/Inferno, the pass to be the main villain in SC 1 & 2 and only in 3 he reclaim the role of the main character again
who can remember the epic three button combo !?! " Triangle Triangle Triangle!! " two hits on the head, and then with the GIANT of his sword, swings up the testicular pain that we know as "epic combo of easy win"
They need to make Siegfried Schtauffen Playable Separate Standalone Character in Soul Calibur 2 (Soul Calibur 3) instead of being a 2ed & 3rd Costume for Nightmare rather than being a Unlockable Character again like in Soul Calibur 1 (Soul Calibur 2) he can be Playable from The Start along with Edge Master make that into 16
CPU : sword swing sword swing kick.. Me : back back CPU : sword swing sword swing kick... Me : back back (to block) Narrator "Out of the Ring" ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?.. >:(
The only Char wich was more Overpowered was Hwang (way to fast and to easy to control) But anyway This game was epic. Such as all themes, Chars and stages. The Weapon Master Mode was even more epic then everything ive seen before. This is 1 of the best PS1 games ever!
