The music from this game was just too much. No Soul Calibur game has come close to matching this soundtrack's awesomeness. SC1 had a few hits, but Soul Blade's themes are simply untouchable.
I don't even remember any of the music from the Soul Caliber series, it's always so generic, just there for the sake of being there. This theme though, even after over twenty years, is still in my memory.
I'm playing through the game on my PS3, and currently stuck on Li Long, Mitsurugi, Voldo,Rock,Hwang and Cervantes edge master mode, mainly the stupid air combo mission for most of them.
Hwang Sung Kyung & Li Long needs to be on The 2 Soul Calibur Games that’s on Playstation 3 & Xbox 360 Including The One for Playstation 3 & Xbox 360 In The Original Timeline Including The 2ed for Playstation 2 & Xbox 260 just like The 3rd & 4th for them to be Main Standard Characters respectively Including Necrid Seong Myeong Edge Master & you know
To be fair, those two are also the only songs I remember (and yes, the intro is outstanding) Odd for a game I've played quite a bit in my childhood. Usually every bit of sound burns into your memory whether you want it or not.

Cervantes was devastated. Cervantes grew up full of pride over his father who was a great sailor, but became a notorious pirate because of his father's death. He decided that if that was what happened to sailors that swear allegiance to Spain, he would forsake it and become a pirate. One day, he received a message from the "Merchant of Death," Vercci. It was a request to find Soul Edge. At first Cervantes dismissed the offer, but finally accepted since Vercci was the merchant who gave him the artillery for his ship. After a year of searching, Cervantes found information pointing to an antiques dealer with a "strange article". There was no specific evidence that said article was Soul Edge, but Cervantes was a pirate, and could find some use for the ship's goods even if Soul Edge was not there. Cervantes attacked the ship, and nobody heard from him again for more than twenty years. He obtained Soul Edge from within his efforts and it eventually drove him mad as it had devoured his own soul and caused him to go into a psychotic state of insanity, leading Cervantes to slaughtering his own crew under the dark and malevolent power of Soul Edge itself. His insanity made him kill anyone who had came seeking the sword for their own reasons. Li Long was the first to confront him in an attempt to possess Soul Edge, but was defeated by him thanks to Soul Edge's own overwhelming power. Realizing that he was not strong enough to defeat Cervantes, Li Long had decided to make an immediate escape, with Cervantes pursuing him in an attempt to kill him and absorb his soul. However, Li Long successfully fled from the scene of the battle. In the end, the combined efforts of Sophitia, Taki, and Siegfried had led to both Cervantes' defeat and supposed death, but as it turns out, this was not the end of Cervantes.
I bought Rg35xx console from aliexpress and went to test games already in it for ps1 then i saw this game and sure as hell i loved it,this theme totally rules no doubt about it💪🏻
I want Cervantes to be as the final boss once again in Soul Calibur 6. He's just too bad-ass in everything! All the final bosses characters from all Soul Calibur series should give an utmost respect to him! He is the Rugal Bernstein version of Soul Calibur!
I'd Simply just want a remake of Soul Blade and what didn't change when going to the Calibur games Critical edges being a huge string of attacks instead of an on demand cutscene was really cool
Cervantes was very much the villain Robert, he lusted for power, little else. Maybe in the past he was a hero but powerlust can do a lot to twist a man.

Bro James can't agree with you more, SC1 is by far the perfect balance between Soul Edge and the more recent sequels. personally starting to get tired of all the extra "wow" effects they keep adding to these games. i think a SoulEdge 2, a proper refresh, would do the series a lot of good

Remember this. The whole known worlds music is "knowingly" being degraded. Its not rend or fashion, it is deliberately controlled and being turned into shit for the masses. Music is just one field this is being done in every other subject

If I ever made a movie based on Soulcalibur it would open on this with a brief scene of Cervantes de Leon being a relatively normal captain until discovering Soul Edge. Then the massacre happens. :D
Cervantes De Leon, or in english... Cervantes "of the lion" he truly was an epic character... he was originally based on the pirate legend "long john silver" the way he looks in SC3 kinda reminds me of captain barbosa from Pirates of the carribean
