I really like when Sophitia Won with the Critical Edge it went to a little thing with her Talking that's such a good moment I'm really looking forward to more of what this game will offer
2:06 mitsurugi armor broke due to super 5:11 sophitia's armor broke and hair undone due to lethal hit and got slow mo 8:43 time where sophitia's string clothes undone. gaining meter at the last round is coming back slow mo trigger seems like after one character got hit by reversal edge or clashing reversal edge or guard impact the person did the reversal will have a choice to back away if it is clashing, it seems like no other choice other than rock paper scissor if it is stalemate, there will be another one but both have choice to back away juggle is limited super is unblockable? 5:13 moving side ways got run counter, seems like run counter is whenever hit while moving 7:07 and 7:16 reduced damage when low life 8:33 jump has no counter damage so souls calibur 5 mechanics are coming back again
near the end her white top is destroyed, the strings on the black top are cut. interesting to see how clothes and armor are damaged on other characters
I love the interface of character select! Definitely one of the better ones in the series.. Hopefully they will add more characters... 20 isn't enough IMO. Minor concerns... They should include the track name during stage intro like the previous games. And the announcer making comments during replay... 😂 And I like the day-night cycle of the stages, just like in Soul Blade. Hopefully the sound also change ala Tekken 7 😊 it would be more epic! But overall, I'm excited for this one! 😁
I think the reason why there is no announcer commentary as its still somewhat early even though the game is 70% done. I dont think they would take out something like that that has been around for the longest while.
After soul Calibur V, Namco needed to redeem themselves. The missing character slots would belong to the old characters. Possibly a few new characters and guest characters.
+Music seems nice. The Eurydice shrine sounds like a remix of the SCI version along with the leitmotif for later stages associated with Sophitia. Feels fitting after her cruel treatment as of SCV (dying, getting replaced by trash shonen rejects, and impersonated by a so-called holy sword that's really SMT Lawful) +Glad the models are back in character selection and versus screen. -Roster seems limited unless the slots shrink or those four corner ones get filled.
Rudolph Consuegra "Trash Shonen rejects" Sounds about right. I don't hate Pyrhha through as I do feel bad for her. I think she a piss poor replacement for Sophita though. Patrokolos Can go fuck himself though. I hate his guts.
There is a theory, which I think might be right, that there are different "layers" of the character selection. Look at the start of the video; the empty circle in the middle seems like two compasses placed upon each other.
I wonder if that message window with "select your character" is even necessary. Just move the banners with the character names down and that opens some space.
kj_inarea Yeah its a classic. I think it would be cool if the person picking the stage can also pick different versions of the stage themes. The music in the soul games are incredible though.
I can just imagine one of those slow-motion reversal edge things happening at the end of the round in a major tournament, would be so sick. Hopefully they are capped to 2 per round or something because seeing an excessive amount of slow mo per round would get bothersome
OhSoSouls-The Deliverer of power bombs- Pigeon King I was thinking the usage of Reversal Edge could cost meter but considering its vertical so you can easily sidestep and give you a free counter hit if they miss, you probably won't see it being abused as much in high-level play. But online tho....
The reversal edge looks like, on hit causes a rock, paper, scissors scenario where it looks like you can either choose to back dash to safety, dodge an oncoming attack with a sidestep and counter,(Assuming the attack the enemy throws is a vertical) or do an attack of your own. On block the slow down doesnt happen and these reversal edges could be really unsafe on block and if that's the case, the use of them can be nullified by blocking and punishing it. I don't think it's going to be an issue regardless.
Of course there will as DLC of course. Its Bandai Namco you saw what they did to tekken 7 and had part in DBZF they are selling it all to you if you want more. Lets hope they don't sell you game modes like Tekken 7 did and actually have content to play...
Dat soundtrack tho, Eurydice shine seems to have a "wings of faith" (Sophitia's 1st ever theme) and "If There Were Any Other Way" remix. Good job who ever did the music.
Dman Smith "Wings Of Faith" was Sophitia's original theme in the first Soul Calibur. It's was slightly remade in Soul Calibur II and III's "If There Was Any Other Way".
SoulCalibur always had amazing graphics and this one is not an exception. I just hope they will add more than 20 characters. Most of all I wanna see Kilik, Maxi, Taki, Amy and Nightmare

This is really hype for me seeing Soul Calibur finally making it's comeback on PS4 after 5 years. I've been playing Soul Blade & Calibur games since PS1 and Dreamcast & it's one of my fav fighting game franchises of all time. Mitsu looks young & got some really cool new moves & stuff. 2018 is gonna be a great year for fighting game fans. I can't wait to main Mitsurugi for another 5 years. :)

Whoever is playing These are the best people they've picked to showcase the game so far. I see potential, it looks like a lot of fun. I wanna see Xianghua! (And Tira...and Talim...)
I've heard those character slots are just place holders, more characters may be added in the future. I don't even think this game is in beta state so we still have more time.

And the chosable weapons ! And musics from SC 2 and Soul Edge ! And the final combo of Sophitia in first battle (if i remember : down, forward, horizontal x2)... how my brother hated it lol
Sad to say it won't be on switch, at least not for now because they started making the game before the Switch was announced. It's possible for the future but 99% sure it won't launch on Switch with the others.
xAngelxDeath yes please! They said fan favorites would be in the game primarily from 2 and 3 so there is hope, I feel Talim and Tira will definitely make it
I don't think it is an old move, but a move starts from "being tripped" trick motion, and ends up being tripped is a Yoshimitsu move, I almost forgot the clones in SC1.
Street Fighter V wasn't though and Soul Calibur's fanbase is a lot like Mortal Kombat's in that they tend to favor the SP experience and story. One of the biggest criticisms with SCV was it's lacking SP content.
Monster S just stop, tk7 doing its thing and selling well, tk6 had ass net code but the best content but sf4 still dominated both ttt2 and tk6, and now tk7 has took the lead
Namco made it clear that this selection screen is not indicative of the final character count in the released game. It is also pretty much a certainty that some characters will be later DLC additions.

You can pretty much undress a character breaking their armor piece by piece during the fight. The future is truly amazing, too bad I'll have to play with one hand.
I wish they would bring back the funny ring outs that they had when it was Soul Edge, when you would knock a player in the air and they would fall on their shoulders or something and bounce off the edge and ring out

It's been confirmed that this is a place holder. It's not the finalized roster slots and there WILL be more characters. Including console exclusive guest characters. It's all been confirmed.
the button mashing on these videos is... something. My favorite is the 3 jumping kicks into a horizontal double swing into another jumping kick..lol. Cant wait to see someone who has knowledge of the characters to actually show off their skill sets.. this game will be great!
helmiboboy I really hope that you're right because would be awesome to see stuff as chronicles of the sword on it, secret characters, secret stages....
1- I predict crossover DLC characters since it's quite a fg trend. 2- I can't wait to see the random style character. 3- I hope to see Virtua Fighter revived next (aka the Bentley of 3D fg).
Can't deny it is a treat to watch the gameplay, reversal edge moments look incredible. I just hope it isn't too different from the older games so I won't have to unlearn and relearn how to play Soul Calibur
