Thanks for making this guide! I'm just glad that what was in this video also applies to the PSP version of Soul Calibur. I had no idea how to pull off a critical finish until I watched this video. Once again, thanks.
Hit all four buttons at once. There's also a single button assigned to all four, so you won't have to frantically smash your controller once you get the Soul Crush. By default, this button is L1 on the PS3 and LB on the XBox 360.
@mstl95 Hit all four buttons at once. You can also assign a single button to input all four at the same time. By default, this button is Left Bumper on the 360 and L1 on the PS3.
No, it's not automatic. Once you get the Soul Crush, you have to hit all four buttons to start the Critical Finish. The 360's default controller setup has the Left Bumper set for all four buttons. On PS3, it's the L1 button. And to unlock more stuff for your character, you need to acquire more honors. You'll get more items for every five honors. Once you get 30, you'll have them all the items available for purchase.
I always forget to leave likes on videos, but this helped me so much I was looking for a way to let you know haha (and yes, people do still play this game.)
i still not understand the game.... but i still love it lol, never did a finish in all these years. It's like mortal kombat but you got to climb the everest, swim through the pacific, hold B while eating a peanut butter toast..... etc
Yeah, that's why I wanted to make the video. I saw plenty of videos about Critical Finishes, but many of them just say "Make the opponent block," and that doesn't always work.
Actually, the concept is pretty simple: Don't rely solely on blocking. I think Capcom vs. SNK had something similar, where blocking too much woud cause you to be stunned for a moment. This is basically the same premise, just with a much higher penalty. My video shows how to make the most of this feature, but it's still pretty rare to actually pull one of these off in a real battle. Rookies rarely block and aren't always predictable, and veterans know better than to block so much.
And so, this game it's like to the soul calibur broken destiny of psp, but better and more things, like stars wars? I guess so, but i need you answer please overall
But whats the button combination for critical finish, I can't even find it in the manual. ;-; (P.S. I use PS3 for Soul Cal so yeah, PS3 combo would be great.)
I often made opponents to be soulcrushed, but I couldn't do that critical finish. If I press the four buttons simultaneously, every character just looks down and touches their heads Oo
Omg you press L1 for PlayStation and LB for Xbox dear god there you go. But don't complain if it doesn't work the first couple of times because well the time box for successfully hitting it is very short so you have to press it immediately
Do CPU characters never ever, EVER, EEEVER do this to you? I've had the game for 2 years and I haven't seen one single solitary critical finish. Plus, only now have to learn't how to actually pull one off myself LOL!
I did this to a two or three people online when I played. I also had it done to me. I think it's always embarrassing if you allow your opponent to get that off. But i stopped playing because everyone was gravitating to cheap characters that literally spam two attacks over and over at a great distance. Yawn.
Is much more professional? I'm a native English speaker and I've been learning Japanese for 3 years, I can speak well enough to understand MOST adult speech. But the Japanese language completely lacks conjugations, articles, plurals and cases. Writing Shakespear or Goethe as they are written in English and German would be absolutely impossible in Japanese. It's a beautiful language but it sorely lacks the expression found in European languages. (English and German especially in my opinion)
