For those that don't know: Nightmare's Critical Edge is a counter attack. If you hit it, you get your basic CE damage, but if you're not hit during the animation, it'll do insane damage. Tira's Critical Edge has two sides to it. If used in Jolly form, she'll turn to Gloomy form. But if used in Gloomy Form, it'll do more damage. Algol's Critical Edge has two parts. What was see in this video was part one. Part two is where he sits on the throne and does even more damage if you do the combo again while having enough charge for it and during the stun. Dampierre's Critical Edge wasn't shown. It's a counter attack like Nightmare's but the only difference is the that if your opponent doesn't hit you, the Critical Edge is wasted.
I remember doing Nightmares critical edge and the player I was facing tried to just back off, which turned it into a movement counter hit and it one shot them XD
Things I reeeally hope about SC6 -Tira returns. Since they're retconning the timeline she could have gone nutso earlier than the original. -Facial customization. Also making custom characters not always have the men be muscular and the women be thin. -Have custom characters not just be mimicking other characters and instead have slightly more original stuff to them. -Announce the guest before the suspense actually kills me.
@psrc tbh I'm satisfied with what we got. Tho I do still wish we had the option of customizing facial hair at least. The premade options are good but I feel like they're a bit limiting.
the thing is that some are much easier to exicute and hit, some are unblockable and some super easy to combo... they all are really strong in their own context. but if you want to see really absurd animation-effect ration, check "jojo's bizarre adventure heat of hearth" special moves. they don't only do tons of showy stuff but also speak 90% of the animation some stupid shit. but it's jojo, it's flamboyant, it's fabulous.
How come everyone but nightmare does around 1/4th of heath in damage, when nightmare can nearly insta-kill? I know that some of the clips have the characters without some health but even then the damage nightmare does is ridiculous
@@omegalavender Check the opponents HP before they do the critical edge. They started with only about half HP each so it looked like they did more damage
Nightmare's CA is actually a timed parry. If he lands the parry it does 30%. If you get hit by the raw strike after 3 seconds though, it does 90%. Which is easy to avoid because he stands still during it.
The last game I played in this series was SC3. After watching this video, I realized that I don't recognize many of the characters. I can recall Seigfried, Nightmare, Astaroth, Cervantes, Ivy, Maxi, Voldo. And Kilik uses sword? I thought he fights with his Kali-Yuga.
allif allfian don't worry. Most of the new characters you see are new to just SCV. It's the worst SC to date, they add these new characters and have little to no story or background for them. The game is shit
A lot of them are legacy characters. Patroklos and Pyrrha are Sophitia's kids. Viola and ZWEI are completely new to the series. Leixia is Xianghua's daughter. Natsu is Taki's apprentice. Ezio Auditore... if you don't know what he's from, you may need to get out more. Xiba is Kilik's son. Aeon is Lizardman (in case you couldn't tell). Hilde and Tira first showed up in SCIV. "Roberty Blue" is a custom character using the custom-only Devil Jin fighting style from Tekken. Algol is also from SCIV. Elysium is also new to the series, and plays like a female-character-only Edge Master, except for her Critical Edge. Kilik using something besides a staff is due to him basically being a male-character-only version of Edge Master.
SC5 is controversial for having done the time skip and a lot of weird stuff with the playable characters (also, Guard Impact isn't free anymore). Here's the whole deal: -Kilik sorta became a hermit in the story and now he's just a males-only random copy character -Elysium is spirit Sophitia because of story reasons, but she's just a females-only random copy character -Sazalamel, Talim, Yun-Seong and Seong Mi-Na are completely missing for no reason, Cassandra is mentioned but isn't playable -Some old characters were removed and had a new character use their moveset: Taki (to ninja girl Natsu), normal Kilik (to staff kid Xiba), Xianghua (to lookalike daughter Leixia), Setsuka (to Alpha Patroklos), Sophitia+Cassandra (to Pyrrha, kind of) -Aeon is simply the Lizardman of this game -Old characters you forgot to mention that still are in the game are: samurai Mitsurugi, fencer Raphael, swordsman Yoshimitsu, ring-blade user Tira Hilde and Algol are new from SC4 (Hilde is a soldier woman, and Algol is a playable boss, he's a physical-god who created the Soul Calibur in the first place), and Dampierre is a goofy character that previously was only in the PSP version of SC4 The completely-new characters in SC5 are Patroklos and Pyrrha (son and daughter of Sophitia), Zwei and Viola, and custom-character-only Devil Jin style
Cassie Cage Elysium is Sophitia. She even addresses Patrokolos as "her dear son" after beating him in battle, which kind of guarantees that she's Elysium given that Pat and Pyrrha are said to be Sophitia's children.
Yepper Draws lol It said in the ending that Amy and Raphael rule the world with Amy owning soul calibur and we know from campaign Siegfried is alive and still has soul caliber so her ending is not cannon. And if she was trying to get the weapon she would be crushed by Siegfried in battle he has more strength and more experience fighting over all. I hope she still alive, that she run away from Raphael.
Is no one going to bring up the fact that Edge Master and Patroklos' critical finishes are almost EXACTLY like Setsukas critical finish from Soul Calibur 3?
So um how many characters are there?... if it's less than 25 then imma pass because this better be at least 25 or more... I'm not passing $66 for a game that only has like 15-20 characters... no fucking way ... this isn't Street fighter 5...

I used to think that this game was much cooler than Soul Calibur 4. But now I realize that it’s not as great as I thought it was. Especially now that I know how many mistakes were made in this game, especially in Story Mode. I’m sorry if this upsets any of you who like this game, but...that’s just how I feel.
