All jokes aside, I can't help but be amazed by the SS Devastator. It's working eight fully functional Transformers into a single combiner which is more than we've ever had in the history of the franchise. I'm just happy that I've kept up because I'm not paying $200 for a voyager Longhaul next year.

I've always preferred this version of Voltron to the original. The main reason? A lot more playability than the original. Fifteen individual vehicles, which combine to make three environmental "super vehicles", which then combine to make the super robot. That wins, hands down compared to just five lion mechs, which just only combine to make the robot.

And yes, some of the vehicles do look a bit silly, especially the ones that make the body, but most of them look playsable, like the feet, the forearms, the helicopters, the jets, the submarines...

I wonder if they’ll give Albegas the Soul of Chogokin treatment, and give that figure the Voltron treatment as well. As it was originally going to be the next Voltron iteration after Vehicle, but due to the Lion Force being more popular than Vehicle that idea got scrapped and only made it to toy form only. That would be a nice detail if Ban Dai did that.

I was born in 2000 but grew up with Go-Lion, Dairugger and Voltron thanks to my uncle, who successfully shaped me into the 80s pop culture nerd I am today. I prefer vehicle Voltron/Dairugger to lion Voltron/Go-Lion. Both are awesome tho. 😁

How exactly did they go from “Robot Lions” to 15 “Vehicles” in the Voltron series? Is this another Robotech situation where Americans just take other robot series in adaptation and merge two different shows together?

Exactly that, they're two different robot series that got adapted under one brand; There was supposed to be a third series adapted but it never came to fruition, though. What's even funnier is that Voltron was intended to be a different show but they got the wrong anime to adapt.

Lion Voltron is from golion, and dairugger xv is from the series dairugger xv, both unrelated. It's definitely a Macross/robotech situation. Story goes the guy was watching a bunch of anime shows looking to do what had been done for robotech/macross, and saw a show of a super robo with a lion head and got it..but there was a mix-up and he got golion instead of daitanius, and after Voltron was a hit they found another similar show and it was dairugger which they just called Voltron... There was a nother series added as a trilogy too but never animated

This figure make me want to watch a show I've never seen or heard if before! That's what a collectible figure should do, inspire old and new fans to enjoy the source material! It has so many cool weapons, and the vehicles and their transformations are so stupid I'd probably get giddy each time I see them. If anyone can tell if the show is good or not I might actually watch it.
