Soul of Cinder Missed Parry and Wombo Combo 

Well Gwyn does that move if i recall but doesn't fucking throw you and hit you mid air, he just hit you in combo.

Soul of Cinder's wombo combo is inspired from the Manus 5-hit combo in Dark Souls. I fought Manus and took so much damage by eating the wombo combo numerous times in NG+ with a Level 120 character. Once I got caught by his combo, I cannot escape from it. That moveset does not exist on Gwyn, but the one-hand attacks, jumping attacks, thrusts, and the grab are Gwyn's moves. Gwyn swings his sword faster and he is far more aggressive than the second phase Soul of Cinder. Hmm, I'll try to take Dark Hand hit from the Dark Wraith if I will get one-shot in NG+7. Soul of Cinder having Gwyn's moves makes the fight more memorable.

@@jdmrchem5 Actually, Gwyn has 4-hit combo like that, but it has no explosion afterwards. It is his rarest attack, that's why it's easily forgotten.

I remembered being spam grabbed by Soul of Cinder multiple times and somehow, I survived those times with enough good defense. The second phase grab is worse since he hits harder and he charges at me for the kill. 12 times is really a lot. The most attempts I experienced were 6 grabs.

Nah, Malenia combo is easier because you don't get stunlocked to death. Meanwhile, if you get hit by Cinder combo, it's over.

@@dcv2009 same with malenia combo but it's way harder to avoid. Malenia is a guaranteed instant kill but soul of cinder can actually be dodged

SoC combo is easy to dodge you just run away as soon as you see the animation and you will be free , you don't even have to roll , malenia waterfowl has very short window to escape and the thing tracking is inhuman and it won't leave you alone , I don't understand how you could find soc combo harder

Yes, that's where the inspiration of the Cinder wombo combo comes from. Manus has that combo as well.

@@slicedolives9902 Yes. I can see this as well. Miyazaki made Dark Souls and Sekiro, and you can see the inspiration of Demon of Hatred. Both Manus and Demon of Hatred are one of the hardest bosses in their respective games. They are chaotic, ferocious, and nasty to deal with. The designs of those bosses are well-made.

@@jdmrchem5 yeah it’s actually insane when you think of all inspiration. The Penetrator inspired Artorias, who later partially inspired Gael. The fat officials inspired evangelists ( maybe winged knights ), and one of the most obvious is King Doran inspiring the Gundyrs. There’s so many, I can go on and on naming all of these, but I don’t want to be a time waster.

Soul of Cinder has two phases and his HP vary on each phase. The weapon is the Dragonslayer Axe. This has innate lightning damage and you can stack more lightning damage.

@@okeyyess haha yeah, I have a lot of builds I just never go to new game so I don't always fight him. Is first phase always curved sword? I do have a rather trash memory.

@@RickFoxChicken nah, first pharse is always straight sword. Usually changed to mage or spear. It's pretty often for the third change to be curved sword tho, so i am not sure how you never see it.

Soul of Cinder can only parry against the player. When Cinder flicks the left arm, that's the parry animation. Because I ran out of stamina, Cinder decides to flick his arm, and nothing happened. Normally, this connects and the player gets parried. This is a response from Gywn being abused by parrying him to death in DS1.

It's not possible to parry Soul of Cinder, but Cinder can parry you. This happened because players abused Gywn, Lord of Cinder, by parrying him to death. I parry him to victory as well. Miyazaki, the creator of Dark Souls, decides to make Soul of Cinder impossible to parry as the result.

He got greedy and Soul of Cinder decided to punish him with a 5-hit wombo combo that kill him immediately

The "failed parry" is when the boss is on his knees and suddenly thrashes his sword to the left.

@@KhangNguyen-um4rg I purposely died during that fight as part of my training regiment beat Cinder at SL1 NG+7. The first phase gave me the most problems, so I used my high level character to train during the first phase. As I reached the second phase, I let Cinder destroy me with his Wombo Combo and continue doing the first phase training. After days of being destroyed by Cinder, I finally beat him at NG+7 with the SL1 character.

@@KhangNguyen-um4rg Crystal Sage and Abyss Watchers were difficult for the first SL1 run. Which parts of the fights that kill you the most? The 2nd phase for Crystal Sage can get troublesome as well as the1st phase of the Abyss Watchers fight since you can only tolerate a few hits. Which weapons do you use to deal with those guys?
