great overview! thanks for this. Was contemplating starting this army eventually, especially getting lucky and got my hands on a cursed city box earlier this year and realized I've got a good number of points already.
Cursed city is a boardgame not really aos. Yeah you can add them but they are token units like underworlds/direchasm. What im trying to say is dont pick an army because you have boardgame/different system models, cause they wont really fit in. Only exception if you play with friends and proxy them. However battleforce or start collecting is a nice start assuming you like all the models 👍
I never played Warhammer but would consider in doing so some future day. The Soulblight Gravelord seem to me as a good faction because I like their concept and look. But just as a side question: How can a skeleton blow a horn? I mean they don’t have any lungs.
Cool video. I'd actually say that there's a viable tactic you can use with a unit of 30 direwolves, although if you don't plan to use that specific tactic you should go with units of 10 as usual. What you do is play a Vyrkos list with a general with spoor trackers and make sure you have Belladamma in your list. Use spoor trackers the first turn to move the 30 dire wolves 3 inches, then max run them 16 inches and use Belladammas command ability to pile in 6 inches. So if the enemy is within 25 inches he'll have 60 wounds of direwolves in his face the first turn while you use the rest of your army to score battletactics, take objectives and kill stuff that's vulnerable. :)
@@winterh46334 Yeah, you have to use a command point in the hero phase for Belladamma's command ability and one in the movement phase to auto run 6. But you only use it the first turn so it's not a command point hungry tactic for the rest of the game.

Thank you! So you can only have 1 subfaction per army. If you wanted to build an army with both blood knights and Vargheists you can! So what a "battleline Troop" means is it fills up a battleline slot, and these slots are a minimum requirement to have a legal army. so for a 2K point game you must have a minimum of 3 units of battleline, but beyond that you can include any units from your roster or include allys if your faction allows that. So if you wanted to run the Kastelai subfaction you'd get access to battleline Blood Knights, and you can still include Vargheists in that army if you wanted to, all these conditional battlelines mean is that if you meet the specific condition that makes them battleline then when you include them in your army they fill a battleline slot. Occasionally I do hero spotlights where I take a look at a few key hero’s that make a big impact, I havnt done too many for soulblight yet, is there a hero you’d like me to cover?
Im a fairly new AOS player, and I have a question about battleline / units and reinforcing them: If you reinforce a unit of say grave guard to go from 10 to 20, do you get to have 2 horn blowers, 2 flagbearers, and 2 Seneschals in that 20 model unit? I got to putting together my next set of 10 GG and I don't know if I need to build them differently but then that wouldn't make much sense since then you'd always have a set of 10 GG that don't have any special models in the unit?
*I ask this because the battletome for every special model in units say "1 model in this unit can be a (seneschal)." All units with special models are worded like that, but it seems strange with reinforcements and if a player decided they wanted to split up a reinforcement to change how their army plays they'd be kinda screwed in non casual settings.
So if you reinforce a unit you can have 2 of the horns and all the other things, but they don’t do anything. They act as insulation incase you lose one. I’d say build as many horns/banners/whatever’s as the kit provides so if you want to split it up and have the horns in each squad you can.
