My child was stillborn on Divine Mercy sunday 2010. I am a new convert and really have wondered what to do. I pray for his soul, and I hope he is in heaven. I wish I could have more certainty. Limbo sounds very strange and cold. I hope he is with Jesus.

Well of course the aborted babies go to Heaven. :) An embryo might be small but their soul that God gave them is already fully grown and that's what will be with God..the soul. An unborn baby also doesn't have any personal sin. They can't wilfully sin against Jesus and they don't know any better so they go to Heaven, even the one's that weren't baptised because the blood of Jesus excuses our sinful nature. It's only when a person reaches age accountability and wilfully sins, they go to Hell.

Any God that would penalize innocent children in anyway is not good

We are on the same page! Infants unbaptized who are aborted or simply die, have suffered as did Christ. Jesus suffered the EVIL of the Fallen World. St Peter says, "We are to follow in His footsteps." And indeed unbaptized infants or aborted babies, although unconscious, do endure evil as Christ did. Just as babies can be baptized and receive God although unconscious, so too unbaptized babies(in or out of the womb) aborted or not, suffer with & for Christ. Same with the Holy Innocents! IMO!

IMO, if the 'Holy Innocents' went to Heaven because they suffered for Christ, so also unbaptized aborted babies, have endured the 'Evil' of the world just as Jesus did, and so they are united to Christ in fact. Although they are joined to Christ unconsciously, so also they are joined to Christ unconsciously in Infant Baptism. St Augustine himself said of anyone who died for the truth was saved, because the truth is Christ...so St John the Baptist. Unconsciously such babies have followed Jesus!

Can someone please give me the scripture reference which explains what "the limbo of infants" is all about? Never heard of this.

I think God, being Almighty, All-powerful, Ever merciful, Omnipotent, and Ever Loving.....................................can do SOMETHING in his eternal capacity to eliminate original sin in the afterlife. I don't know, thinking God is chained down completely by his earthly sacraments doesn't jive well with me, if he wants that innocent with him, he will do so, the baby hasn't rejected him and all humans love him until they grow up and learn to do otherwise...

We cannot presuppose that God will undermined the innocence child and the state in which he finds himself. It is an act that goes against nature, his nature and the will of God. Because God is conscious of the fact that there is an act that goes against His nature and manifest itself upon a creature that seeks too be, that child is granted eternal life

Limbo was the name given to the margin on the side of a page; things were scribbled in there when there was no definite knowledge on the subject. - Blessings - Rene

So, do aborted fetueses go to aborted fetus limbo? Do they ever grow up to be real babies, or are thstay fetuses forever? For that matter, do dead babies grow up to be adults in heaven or do they remain babies eternally? Not that I'm doubting heaven exists or mocking the idea that people go someplace after they die yet retain their personalities and individual identities.

***** Yes I have read the bible. The difference between me and you is that I'm humble enough to know that I'm not an expert in ancient writing and history. Or ancient culture. So I do research when reading the bible. I assume that you only read what atheist sites point to since you seem to have a very narrow view of God. Its like believing the US is bad since North Korea told me.
@alejandromartin8347
@alejandromartin8347 8 лет назад
***** Sadly that statement only shows your ignorance. The bible is not written by God. How you got that notion is beyond me. And such belief tells me that you have not read the bible. Since it never states that is written by God nor does it ever give that perspective. I would like for you to point where the bible states that is written by God. Sadly even such belief shows your ignorance of history itself. Do some research. Stop only getting your information from atheistic sites then get back to me. Also learn what a fairy tale is. Sadly you just chant the same old atheistic propaganda heard millions of times like a brainless lemming.
@alejandromartin8347
@alejandromartin8347 8 лет назад
***** You said that according to your reading God wrote the bible. Since you read the bible and concluded that God wrote the bible. Now you are saying its inspired. Its that from reading or hearsay? Remember that is the reason you claimed that you did not need to do research or know history while reading the bible. Next you say that God doesn't exist. That's a pretty big claim. I wonder how much evidence you have to not back that up. But let me guess here comes the same old tired line I hear repeated in atheist propaganda websites. " I don't need to back it up since you need to prove that God exist. Until then I can conclude that he doesn't exist." That is a fallacy in logic to be sure. Sadly until you can understand somewhat of what logic is. Not just a word that means "I'm right but don't need to show it.". I'm not interested in arguments with evangelical atheists.

True, but only once the Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus that real baptism started of baptising in the Holy Spirit. Only Jesus had the gift of the Holy Spirit and the power to han it down. Previously, when it was John the Baptist it was only a sign of repentence, but not like the real baptism in the name of the Father and Son and Holy Spirit.

I've personally believed that the unbaptized babies do go the the infant's limbo. It may be possible to pray for their deliverence just as we pray for the souls in purgatory, but if not, then that for sure they will as an enormous group finally enter Heaven on the Day of the Final Judgment where every soul will receive their eternal sentence, when Heaven & Earth are rolled away, and all things are made new.

What if the baby was lost due to a miscarriage? ... I was told that the baby needs to be named and to ask a mass for him/ her as soon as possible. My internet keeps freezing and I can't finish watching the video :\

All children,babies,aborted fetuses,the severely mentally handicapped: they are all in Heaven eternally even though they knew not Christ Jesus while their soul was in the flesh; for, they have NO SIN that Jesus had needed to pay the price for on that Cross and therefore do not need the washing of the Cross.What was the purpose of His work on that Cross?He brings forgiveness. Forgiveness of what? Forgiveness of sin.One can only be guilty of sin when they reach the age of accountability.

Then, if a mother have a 2 years old child that is growing in an awful place filled with suffering. Should she be able legally to kill her son in order to prevent he from sin, and therefore, possible going to hell? /watch?v=aaThfnA0N2o

I've prayed over apostle John's description of the souls he saw under an altar (Rev 6v9-11), and aborted babies are the only group the description seems to fit. They cannot be in heaven, nor be Christians, because they are asking for their blood to be avenged on earth dwellers. It's like a purgatory, because they are given white robes, which suggests they'll be in heaven one day. However, they have to stay where they are for as long as their number is increasing. Limbo? Where in the Bible is Limbo? No. Deuteronomy 29:29 States "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law." If you lost your baby through abortion or SIDDS or something don't worry! They go to a mighty merciful just God. Put it out of your head and worry not about it.

I would've hoped this is true but i'm told many Church fathers as well as dogmatic councils have made it clear that limbo is legit, and that unbaptized babies are forever suspended there. If that the case then i'm done with the faith. I can't possibly reconcile with that kind of injustice.
@Unclenate1000
@Unclenate1000 8 лет назад
***** took me this long to fully realize that. And yes, i never appreciated the clear injustice of original sin, but until now i tolerated it, thinking it was just a disposition that wouldn't automatically determine your fate. However, the doctrinal proof of limbo shows otherwise

This is actually a qusetion we should just let God deal with. We can't answer and shouldn't try to hard. If we start to define things like limbo, then it for sure seems to be a great injustice. Since God is always more merciful than we think we are with these definitions, let this be up to Him.

limbo is a place of expectation and those who go there will need some time to reach paradise but they will ultimately reach there. If they were not baptized or were aborted it was partly due to the fault of others who have to pay for the salvation of these souls. I say partly, because all the souls are responsible for being born in a particular time, place, religion, caste etc. So we can say that the position in time and space a soul occupies when it comes to animate a body is dependent on the will 0f the soul. This is a very great mystery and beyond the scope of this reply.

@TheLaunchingPad

They don't have a soul if they are fetuses. The solar entity that is "human being" comes into the body at the point of breath. If this does not occur then the soul will find a new host body. Your mother did not see your soul before you were born or you would understand. I have seen the soul (solar) and there is a difference between the solar and the incorruptible soul (seed) from God. Prove me wrong, I am listening. I am here to challenge and be reproved before I open the scrolls before men.
