YYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!. After years of asking, I think I need to lie down...Pity they didn't play Gravity's Union, but Awesome none the less...
What are saying that a gifted Guitarist like Claudio, I mean Rabea can't play a song that's in Drop A in Drop D, I play it in Drop C, so I'm sure Rabea could, he actually played Welcome home in a different position, so he IS a genius... :)
Some new sound likes i want: Van Halen - Eddie Van Halen Nevermore/Arch Enemy - Jeff Loomis Avenged Sevenfold - Synyster Gates & Zacky Vengeance Trivium - Matt Heafey & Corey Beuleau Johnny A In Flames - Bjorn Gelotte Bring Me The Horizon - Lee Malia Dethklok - Brendon Small Annihilator - Jeff Waters Kiss - Tommy Thayer/Ace Frehley & Paul Stanley Judas Priest - Richie Faulkener & Glenn Tipton (i heard breaking the law in the background) BY busting the bank Metallica - Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield Black Stone Cherry - Chris Robertson and Ben Wells
Yeah, strangely, I really appreciated that, too. I will extend that same courtesy in the future, rather than being a smarmy jerk about it like I did in the past.
To be fair, it's not difficult: Chapman Ghost Fret £450 Boss TU-3 £60 TC Spark Mini £40 Tone City Tiny Spring £50 Tone City Tape Machine £50 Marshall DSL-40 £740 That emulates the average gear they use on the record, and it's giggable.
I hadn't watched these in so long, and I saw the ultimate blues rig one in my feed and was like "I want them to do a coheed one. " then I scrolled through the playlist and here we are. You guys rock!
I used to love Coheed and Cambria when i was younger! And even to this day i would occasionally have a listen...Only know the first three albums tho...!!
My wife is a massive CandC fan so this was great!!! I live in St. Pete, Florida where Claudio and his wife Chondra have family so they play here a lot. You guys nailed their extreme overdrive and sometimes muddy sounds perfectly. Nice job!!!
I always try and suggest artists that it would be really hard to stay under that 1500 budget. Hendrix, EVH, The Beatles, these would all be way to easy and have been done 100 times on youtube. Some of their best episodes have been the ones where they werent sure how they could get in budget.
Kvlt Ov Freki yeah, but I think Opeth would be a huge challenge, cause even back in their heavier days, they had a lot of nuances and different tones. That plus the fact that their sound is massively different nowadays would make it soooo tough
Artec619 This is true, I am probably in the minority but I personally found Pale Communion to be one of their best albums, if I still want heavy stuff from them there's a big back catalogue and BloodBath is a more simplified take on Death Metal that I certainly like also, personally never understood the outrage over the change in direction in Opeth, tons of other great bands out there to find if the change isn't a thing you're into. *forces myself to stop rambling*
Kvlt Ov Freki Pale Communion is definitely a top album. Tough thing is, which isn't one? Lol. I personally didn't like Sorceress at all, it sounded pretty bland to me. I think Heritage its somewhat cool, but i get a bit bored when im listening to it. And then from the old days I just can't stand Morningrise, to me it sounds like recycled leftovers from Orchid. But that would be the weakest ones to me, and they are just 3. After that, every single album could be top to different people. Truly an amazing band. Cheers mate
Sound Like: The Stone Roses Mac Demarco Jamie T Cage The Elephant Kasabian Pixies Rise Against The Libertines The Jam Bloc Party Vampire Weekend The Killers Killswitch Engage The Offspring By Busting Jimi Hendrix Metallica Arctic Monkeys (Gotta do it for the new album) Oasis Green Day The Smiths Iron Maiden Nirvana
Considering you've got "Breaking the Law" going behind in the shop while picking Matt's amp and JPs bringing out a new album soon, shouldn't You do KK and Glenn?
Finally! It's back! Here's some artists I'd love to see you guys try and Sound Like: Disturbed (Dan Donegan) Seether (Shaun Morgan and possibly Pat Callahan) Staind (Mike Mushok) Korn (Munky and Head) Sevendust (Clint Lowery and John Connolly) The Offspring (Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and Dexter Holland) Bad Religion (Brett Gurewitz and Brian Baker) Eddie Van Halen
-Jimi Hendrix by busting the bank! -Beatles without busting the bank! -Grateful Dead without busting the bank! -Dream Theater without busting the bank!
The Dead would be hard. Bob would be easy but Jerry/John (Dead & Co) would be the tough part. Not that he used a bunch of gear but that tone is not easy to nail. I'd love to see what they could come up with though.
for U2 by busting this time matt should get Adam Clayton's signature fender for more context and Rabea could get either a big gibson explorer or the signature strat
Radio Moscow Albert Colins Shakey Graves * All Them Witches * Alabama Shakes * Freddie King The Arcs St Vincent * Vulfpeck (Bass and Guitar) * J.D McPherson The Districts Hanni El Khatib Bahamas I marked the ones I thought would be most popular, but I think they all have nuances that could be a good challenge and inspiring. Keep up the great work!
Annie Clark is a challenge, she does have a signature Musicman and her fuzz tones are a challenge, but i wanna see them take on riffs like... Now now, Marrow, The Neighbors, Cruel and Birth In Reverse
Bea, you made my two years since I've requested this one of you my bro! You're BRUTAL, 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘! It's been more than two years, but I can die a happy man knowing you can bury a look alike! Look like Rabea, burn at the hands of Rabea... The Slayer!
Machine head is a two guitar band, Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel, they both had signature guitars which are now sadly discontinued but we'll see what they can choose
@brutalbeetle the problem is the only epiphone V's are signature models and the rules state nobody else's signature models for sounding like someone else so a BC Rich for Robb, with a wah (edit: i just remebered they have a non signature korina V by epiphone lol)
Been waiting for this one. First Overdrive i ever bought was a Boss SD-1 years ago because Claudio used one in one of his old rigs. I think it was during second stage It served me well for many years.
Queens of the stone age by busting the bank please!! use proper bass amps and do both joshua and troy! They were also one of your earliest sounds like so it would be really neat to revisit them. Great tones on this one!
Sound Like MELVINS! Sound Like Gojira! Sound Like Anthrax! Sound Like Judas Priest! Obviously Sound Like Radiohead...how about Sound Like Joy Division?
Apart from being way too bass-heavy for the series, this one must be impossible...Primus is one of the most distinctive sounds anywhere, and yet they can sound completely different from song to song. Les Claypool will be using an extended range 6-string singlecut solidbody bass one second, and 4-string hollow body the next. Larry Lalonde doesn't seem to be tied to any gear, he's played just about every kind of guitar. Their sound isn't really gear-driven. Maybe sounding like Primus is all in the thumb...?
very true.. I guess I didn't think about the expansive amount of gear they have used over the years and les is completely unique. Would be cool if someone out there in youtube land would give it a shot!
WITHOUT SIGNATURE GEAR! Super important in my opinion. Especially when busting the bank signature gear would make it way too easy to sound like avenged.
I’ve waited for so long to see this happen! You made my week. Claudio’s explorer is an E2 and I’m pretty sure it’s a 1980 model, but you were right when you said they are rare!
my sincere request is that you retry RUSH. you (for lack of a better word) rushed the previous video and it shows. the licks arent very spot on. the tone wasnt great and frankly it just didnt work. or at the very least, do it BY busting the bank. cheers
If they could sound exactly like Rush in a 20 minute YoutTube video, do you think they would be making RU-vid videos? I think it's beholden on you to use a little imagination...
simple, they just need to get for both Tommy Thayer and Paul Stanley their signature guitars, maybe they could do ace frehley with a black beauty cos they don't make his signature les paul no more get it with a marshall or something good for amps
admittedly i was one of those people that saw you first and thought you looked a hell of a lot like Claudio with your old chinstrap, which is why i suggested the vid, and the fact they have a monstrous tone
Iv asked manny times before or liked other people asking for linkin park , I love when you guys do bands from my childhood and I want some prs love 👍 please do some hybrid theory songs
