Don't forget to subscribe, love you guys, Im finally singing some original songs with my band Sandy Mule, search us as we release one song after another.
I've always been a fan of your crew on GR, and the way your family proudly showed your faith, even while the world is eroding away to ruins... I had no idea you had pipes like this, your voice sounds passionate and deliberate. I subbed to you. Good luck to Sandy Mule from middle North Carolina. -Corey
I love is voice and he really knows what is a fucking ugly road that is hard to walk through and he is not a person who has no idea what is hard life and the fact is that he knows how much that to change your mind and path and change your mind and make sure that they have the ability to do the right thing to be able to understand what is life no matter what
Haaaaaa men you have a heart that screams at the top of your lungs with amazing voice that makes everyone happy and you just give them shivers right through the spine to the brain you have a amazing voice and I thankyou for sharing your talents with all of 8
This is what the world is made of you can't judge a book by it's cover and you are listening to a real man who goes out there and shows the world what he is made of A REAL FUCKING MAN WHO HAS A GREAT HEART AND SOUL
ja stimme Dir voll zu . Ich schaue auch jeden Tag auf DMAX die Goldwäscher an und da kann man sich nicht vorstellen , das diese Typ so super singen kann
First a Gold Rush fan. Then I came across Todd singing his version. And absolutely blew me away!!! And each and every time someone plays their version I play Todd's and show them how it should be sang. My husband knows that this is my all time favorite song and Todd's my all time favorite singer! If I go first he will play this at my funeral and only Todd's version!
I’ve watched goldrush since the beginning, it’s brings a huge smile on my face to see how great of a singer he is! So surprising and almost unbelievable
I own Mr. Hoffman an apology. When I heard he was leaving Gold Rush to sing, I laughed at the idea. Well, I was wrong,. Mr. Hoffman, you have a beautiful voice. This is one of my favorate songs so I would be critical if not sung correctly. I could listen to you sing this oVer and over. GREAT JOB !
@@shawnobarker3255 Really....here's some advice Toddles....there are 10,000 singers who can sing an easy song like this one...all starving....go back and see if Parker will let you drive one of the DS50's.
Five years after I first heard you sing this song Todd, and it still moves me. Your voice touches my soul… I think I’ve probably listened to this song 1000 times. It moves me to the very core of my soul. Still rocked…. We are not worthy
Do you realize how hard the notes are to reach on this song? Todd you freaking give me goose bumps as I listen to it CRANKED UP!!! Am I the only one who feels he FLIPPING NAILED IT!
I was just watching the episode of Todd Hoffman saying he was done with gold rush and was gonna concentrate on singing and I laughed...im not laughing anymore that was awesome it actually bought tears to my eyes I think you found your gold buddy don't stop doing what your doing
I've always said this is the best rendition of this song I have ever heard, and I've heard a few in my time, I'm 65. Todd sings it with such genuine passion and conviction. The more I listen to him sing this the more I know I'm right. Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant.
Prior to this, I had never watched one of Todd's videos. I read the video title and thought "Todd trying to sing? Oh I have to watch this train wreck." I wasn't expecting this as all. Wow! Damn, dude, you can really sing!
Sounds good but don't like lipsync videos. 9/10 3:36, when he opens his mouth for that word "sound" his tongue is flat... try making the sss first letter of "sound" while looking in a mirror you'll see what I mean... some of the other words weren't quite in sync
Thank you for saving me the time of posting. I agree 100%, thought it was going to be a train wreck but it was actually very good. Liked the Disturbed version as well.
Mr Todd Hoffman, You sir have an absolutely magical voice that makes this song more powerful than anything i have heard in many decades. I know this song has been sung by many artists and they have all done a wonderful rendition of it, but your version is by far the most moving for me that i have heard. I recently had my mom pass away and just listening to this song with you specifically singing it has, in a small way at least, helped me in moving forward after her passing. Thank you so much for sharing your magical voice with the world. A Golden treasure you are. I wish you all the best with your singing career. Keep it up.
I didn't realize that I had any tears left until I heard the "Gold Dude" sing this song! It was like my entire childhood and memories of everyone I ever loved and lost came flooding back through my heart. You my friend have a very powerful and moving voice and I wish you well in your many endeavors. Thank you for letting the world in on your secret!!!
Oregon was a bust,,and most people could have told him that, BUT, Colorado looks promising...and wouldn't you know, it wasn't HIS find,,it was Mr. Dodge that pulled old Todd out of the dump HE put himself and his crew into...so maybe they need a new leader.
Amazing! How is this 5 years old and I’m just now seeing this. This song was my grandmothers favorite. We played it this past July at her funeral. Simon and Garfunkel. If I had known you mastered this song I would have used yours instead! Bless you man.
Wow, Todd.. I know you’ll probably never read this, but this is THE most amazing cover- what a truly talented and great singer you are! I love it. You went looking for gold, but damn brother, you had it inside you the whole time.
I'd buy his music in a heartbeat....what a beautiful voice.....people are right man....you've had the gold with you all the time....AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How anyone can make negative comments about Todd Hoffman’s rendition of this song is mind blowing. This is the most beautiful powerful rendition I’ve ever heard. I can’t stop playing it.
Tod Hoffman. Oh my god I did not expect this to come out of your mouth dude I'm lost for words you absolutely smash this song ..ive been following gold rush for a long time and I never knew you could do this ..i have listened to this over and over massive thankyou for sharing this with us ...from gavin in the UK:-)
I was only 16 when gold rush first started in 2010. My dad and i have enjoyed every season since despite the distance between us. It has always been something that bonded us and it really was a hit to the heart hearing you weren't going to be there anymore given you are what started the whole thing. Your crew not only brought me and my pops closer, but also taught me that you can do anything if you dream hard enough. And this just proves it even more. Thank you Todd Hoffman for the inspiration you have provided others that don't believe in themselves. Thumbs up so he can see!
Personally, I feel it is better than the original. Todd, so much passion in your voice. I will miss you and your crew on Gold Rush. Always a joy to know you put your faith in God and prayed. Good luck on all the new ventures. God Bless
That was the favorite song of my oncle during his cancer and unfortunatly,he died😞...earing you singing this song make me cry so much because i loved him and i didnt have the time to say goodbye....
I rarely comment, but you left me no choice, Mr. Hoffman. This is one of my favorite songs and your rendition took my breath. Thank you for the feelings your voice bestowed on me this Sunday afternoon. It was gorgeous and that is a true understatement.
Hi Todd... two things... even three... 1) Bless the Lord for your gift... I'm ever impressed. 2) I'd really like to see you do covers of the Christian genre 3) Production-wise... I've often used the same "long black leadout" after something emotionally moving... and it really works good here.... 'props' to your producer.
By far my favourite cover of this song, every time i hear it it always gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes, you had gold in you this whole time ❤
Wow! This made me cry! What a heart this man has💖 First Gold Rush, then Hoffman Family Gold & I just heard this today. Wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing yourself so beautifully.
My mind if officially blown! I love this song. Always have. But I have never actually heard the words before. Goosebumps! I am now a fan of Todd Hoffman, the singer. Todd, if you're listening. STOP GOLD MINING! It is not your forte'. Put your efforts where your true talents lie! I'm stepping down now and smashing my soapbox.
This song is one of my late mother’s favourites songs, not since her funeral have I heard that song and I have never heard it sung with such passion! You just made a grown man cry! I think this will be the version played when I leave this mortal world!
Sadly since I posted that message i have lost my father also, Major stroke dec 19, passed away on 2nd jan 2021! Couldn’t ask for a worst end to 2020 and beginning of 2021! The song now has even greater meaning! Tell the ones you love everyday how much you love them for you never know when you might be able to say it but it cannot be heard!
frostythehelmet I'm so sorry to hear that, the last year has been a complete cluster-f*ck 😕 I wish you all the very best, you take care and stay strong 💚
Please support this guy and his family..gold mining is way harder than it looks.. if it was easy there would be more doing it on the show... this guy is a true family man who is doing whatever it takes to support his family... luckily he has a voice of gold and hopefully doesn't have to dig for it anymore....way to go brother..👍
I am blown over..I can SO see an album with songs like this. Your voice is powerful, and beautiful. Dont go crazy with rock and roll.. This song was the bomb!!!! Congrats!!
Todd, this is fabulous! I've loved this song since the 70s, lol... & your cover of it is one of the best versions ever! Also really dig the background scenery; really goes well with the song. Thanks for sharing this with the world. :)
Just listened to five very different versions of this wonderful song... This is right up there for me with the best of them. You sing it beautifully Todd mate.
After hearing for many kinds of cover I personally decide that this one is the best of best. Hight, deep and smooth voice. Thanks for making this cover.
Jazz andy agreed! This version is now synonymous with me to the original. Simon and Garfunkle, and this version are the only two thay should ever be played.
🔥💯 ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE !!! This guy’s version and voice is legit the BEST next to “Disturbed” lead vocalist, David Draiman. With 15 MILLION + views and counting it’s obvious Todd Hoffman has an absolutely incredible voice. 💪🏼😎 I just cannot believe I haven’t heard this recording by Todd Hoffman until today. Sound Of Silence is one of my top 20 favorite songs of all time too. Todd, could you please record and post a Johnny Cash song? I think you’re voice is amazing and truly a gift given to you from God 🙏🏼. I’d love to hear you sing a Johnny Cash song. Thank you for sharing your songs with us. Peace ✌🏼
This is by far the best rendition of this song… this goes right to my heart I think of my mom, she has been gone for 3years now, she would sing us to sleep for years as kids🌹🌹
Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence In restless dreams, I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence And in the naked light, I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never shared And no one dared Disturb the sound of silence "Fools" said I, "You do not know Silence like a cancer grows Hear my words that I might teach you Take my arms that I might reach you" But my words, like silent raindrops fell And echoed in the wells of silence And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming Then the sign said, "The words on the prophets are written on the subway walls In tenement halls" And whispered in the sound of silence
